Which in turn handicaps that team by making it so the only competent scum players on it get pl-d instantly because they're much more likely to have chosen scum. If a team wants to shoot themselves in the foot by picking people who aren't versatile on the off chance it confs them, more power to them.

Pods if enough interest.

Players are drafted blind from a list we demand from UT immediately before role PMs are sent: 1 player per game.

On wagon lynch of opposite alignment +2 points.
Off wagon lynch of opposite alignment +1 point.
No Lynch 0 points.
Lynch of same alignment -1 points.
Lynch of self -2 points.

NK'd players considered on wagon for the rest of the game, lynched players considered off wagon for the rest of the game.

Randomly paired with a person from your pod to be playing against each phase (numbering constant across games, to prevent pacing disparity mattering.) Winner within a pod is based on phases won, Winners of pods compare overall score.

No discussion during the event to prevent ongoing games shenanigans.

Players must name their fantasy teams. Points tallied after the main event is over.

Obviously we'd need UT's permission/cooperation, but from his end the only thing that would be necessary would be announcing playerlists for the games a day or two in advance of the actual start of the event/distrubution of role PMs, which may even be preferable from an organization standpoint.

We could go either opt in or opt out for the TM players to prevent hurt feelings about not being drafted/not being drafted early enough.

My suggestion doesn't preclude both.

(Which is kinda the major point for my suggesting a pre-role pm draft as that's the only fair way to let players play in the fantasy league too and I think the overlap in desire will be significant.)

Well, yeah, but I've already been recruited to a team so I wouldn't be able to play.

I don't think those in the Fantasy league should be players. Conflict of interest and outside influence and such.

I will only be doing one or the other.

I think that the nature of TM win >>> Fantasy League win and my proposed no discussion while active, draft before known alignments would solve it. I doubt there's enough interest in people who are nonplayers to populate the league.

The only real conflict of interest possible would be in people who had the ability to influence player distribution, which... I trust the mod team not to be asshats.

If it's going to be limited to non participants I really don't care, but I don't think you'll end up with enough people to be more than what the mod team bets were in 2018 (t/s win for each game, double points if you bet before the teams are assigned). I'd also be concerned with potential replacement pools, but I think that will just end up with nobody playing the fantasy league because they might want to replace in. :shrug:

Is it kosher to try to coordinate games across teams before the event starts? For example, say I really want to play with player X and player X wants to play with me, is there a method by which we can express that, are we allowed to share our game preference order, etc.? I get that you're handling blacklists and this is purely hypothetical atm.

You could also be a decent Conquest if you want to go Conquest War Famine Death, btw. (Conquest fits the poison apple too, as in some interpretations they're the antichrist or spawn of the Serpent. Christian mythology is neat.)

Here’s the tracking I was doing for the Four Horsemen. I don’t know the results of the surveys, of course. It was surprisingly close. I do know that had scum not been caught in Gay Mafia through a cascade of slips, POE and mech, kuribo would have secured our fourth win, and we’d have stood alone as the only 4-win team. Right down to the wire.

Yeah, I realized that I had no reason to play my game a while before it ended because your team always beat ours after the mini normal ended, but Chemist picked right in the end anyway.
