Specifically, is there a chance people got to choose their alignments?

Yeah, it's not anywhere near the most difficult role to win with in GIM, but it's basically survivor except you have to fake-claim your role and be subtle with a reference and hope no one calls you out on it. (To be fair, with Sword and Shield coming out soon it would probably be easier to make a subtle or not-so-subtle reference and live with it.) I, personally, would have counted the first reference; but I'm not Korina so take that as you will. (I do agree it could be a pretty fun role though.)

Definitely. You picked 3 to 5 cards, and the mod picked one. You couldn't submit the same role twice, or the same role but with differing alignments. If for some reason you picked all cards of the same alignment, then you would be guaranteed to get that role unless the mod had to change your alignment to keep within the 'at least 3 town-aligned and at least 2 mafia/werewolves' constraint or changed your role to vt because your picks were overpowered.

I am. It's in the OP. That Vig shot doesn't prove anything, because EVEN if Bingle flips scum I could be from another scum faction with that.

What you're missing is roles are combinations of the roles we picked. Yes, there is a Cult IC for instance, but if that's the ONLY IC card you picked you can't be a Cult IC. You are either <alignment form another card> IC, or you are a Cult <role from another card>

I also very much doubt there's a non-town IC role to begin with. What you are referring to are CARDS that show a role and an alignment, so the resulting actual roles can only be one of the two. IC is TOWN because that's what IC is. If you get a Mafia IC resulting final role the mod should re-roll for you.

Korina chose 1 of those roles and assigned it to us.

So maybe you do get a full role? I thought mine came from 24 (alignment)+6 (full role)

To be fair, I thought it was 3 to 5 also, and did start wondering if what you mentioned was the case after you brought it up.

He suggested I would/should be shot, which is optimal play for scum -of course- except it isn't. Scum will be looking for PRs and hunting for other scum. The IC poses no real threat to them at the start of the game, and

unless town turns out to be be a majority

not even towards the end of it. In short, Bingle is/was telling the narrative that suits him best. It makes him look like he's following logical assumptions and thus be TR'd. Bingle is a dangerous scum player and should always be the D1/N1 Vig if his alignment isn't confirmed.

P.S. I also considered shooting ofrhz tbh, but I wanted to wait to see how Bingle enters the game.
