Plate for sure it's so common to have a silver plate. Or the "silver platter" idiom.

I think Aztec because I think Spanish imperialists did a lot of trading for precious metals when that region was conquered?

The only other Silver thing is "mass", somewhat strengthened by silver being an element. And its price measured in mass. But Silver connecting plate and Aztec seems a lot like "I see why you would have to do that", silver connecting plate and mass makes me think "surely there was something more direct".

Silver just directly kills a werewolf it doesn't really poison it.

My mind went there too.

The reason it's silver instead of gold is because "silver platter" is a major phrase and gold platter isn't
So I think coug is hoping we can make the minor jump on the Aztecs.
Since gold was primary but silver was a big deal too
