Announcing Team Mafia 2020

This event will begin on January 2nd, 2020. This gives everyone ample time to get teams together and for those who wish to participate to wind down their current commitments.

Team Mafia

is a sitewide event spanning five games. Teams of four players will be given the opportunity to choose four out of the five games to be placed in, and will work together to win their chosen games. Scoring, based on whether or not your team was in winning games, will determine the overall winners of the event. The winning team will receive a banner for their accounts that will be displayed until the next Team Mafia event or the next Scummies, whichever comes first. The tentative plan for the five games will be

1. A large theme, run by Untrod Tripod
2. A mini theme, run by PenguinPower
3. A mini normal, run by implosion
4. A white flag open, run by T-Bone
5. A small open setup, run by Micc

These games will be moderated by members of the Listmod team. Each team will be required to put a player in the large theme. Therefore, the number of players in the large theme will be the same as the number of teams in the event. The numbers in all of the games will be determined by the number of participating teams.

Of all the people currently on the free agent list, Skitter would have been a great asset. I ideally would prefer people I’ve already experienced hydraing with but if that is not possible, I do recall Gammagooey having pretty decent reads but I asked Auro and Volxen and am still waiting on their responses.

I wish Mastina was an option because she may be the only person on this site who has a near perfect record of reading me. And anyone who has a near perfect BoP on me, can probably read anyone, maybe even RC.

I have set up a training camp for myself in preparation for this event, and I'm glad to report phase 1 has been completes and was an utter success.

For lack of other player to practice with I set up a game of just 1 player (myself, obviously) and since a lynch could not have been achieved with just one player left I declared the game over. Unfortunately; the win condition I had set was "to get someone else lynched before the game ended" so I lost, but it was an exciting experience none-the-less.

One other general addition I forgot to mention regarding game assignment - a number of people didn't get the games they requested because of space. This is unavoidable; some games were requested more than others. The assignment prioritized both giving people who requested a game more highly the game, as well as minimizing the total number of people who did not get the game they requested, in different ways. Note that these two things can conflict.

I will be more than happy to play whatever game I’ve been assigned, so long as I know for a fact, no one did anything unethical to prevent it.

If I find out otoh, that I was somehow cheated out of playing the game I truly wanted, then I will not be at all happy.
