There's a whole lot of good reasons for you to claim when you did as scum.

You claimed early and in a verifiable way so you could coast on your claim. The way that you did it ended up outing a masonry and a PT cop, in an outcome that would probably have been reasonably predictable beforehand aside from Alchemist's specific role.
