I've literally never seen a single Bond movie so I'm not sure I'm much help here <_< Is Moonraker the title of one?
Moon seems most obviously connected to satellite so that would be my preferred first guess. I could go into other word association I have with moon and raker but I'm not entirely convinced that's relevant
i kinda took this as a green light for bothl, sorry
tbh i'd never heard of "steel brushes" (and google kept referring to them as "wire brushes") but you two probably know better in that regard than i do?

Just concerned cuz it ended up on the other group's list and I recall Haschel's tendency not to give clues about words that the other team is considering that belong to us so that they'll hopefully accidentally hit it and he doesn't have to include that word in his clues.
Sorry, I didn't really notice them talking about club initially tbh since it seemed like they were focused more on other stuff for pages.
If we assume club is either theirs or Haschel presumed they may guess it, we have 3 more riot words. I think we've all discussed that racket makes at least some sense. As I've said, my next best guess is row. Do we want to talk about other possibilities more?

So for RIOT: 4 we think we have two more. We've talked about club (weapon used in riots + possible music reference), Rome (fall of Rome), and row (argument). Nothing else really jumps out at me there.
For MOONRAKER: 3 we think we have two more. We've talked about Rome (set in Italy and possibly Rome itself), Diamond (general Bond reference), and Laser (I think b/c it's vaguely space/tech related? and/or a meme?). I think Light is also possible (as in moonlight). Raker on its own would make me think of Root maybe but I'm not convinced that's important. But at least one word needs to be pretty directly related to Bond/the movie I think, so I wouldn't recommend guessing laser/light/root/whatever before something more along the Rome/Diamond lines.

MOONRAKER:
(disclaimer that I'm Bond ignorant)
- agree with FF that lightweight should rule out light
- I am less certain about diamond being wrong but am fine to sheep FF on that esp if xof agrees
- laser? for space/tech stuff
- cycle? moons have cyclical phases
- root? it's naturey and vaguely related to rake via trees I guess. tbh I doubt it was what he was initially going for but it's not impossible that it's still our word.

if xof doesn't post in a couple of hours I'm going laser first bc im guessing that will be her preference based on

ok uh strategy wise:
- we have 2 words left and if we actually got what he was going for with Moonraker:3 and riot:4 we don't have anything left he intentionally clued us. I can buy that that's not the case though esp with Moonraker.
- The only word we brought up before weight:0 that we haven't ruled out from it was me tossing out root as a slim possibility. which was their third fave guess for anatomy:2
- they have 4 words left and didn't guess anything for anatomy:2
are we probably going to lose if we don't get both ours now?
yo, my team, let's stick to greenposting since it's their turn (it's a rule).
it wasn't my understanding of the rules that a spymaster could change a legal clue after giving it, but ultimately it is up to the mod
This was an exceptional circumstance, but yes, the spirit of the rules is generally that once a clue is given, it's final. No further requests to change the clue will be granted this round.
It's very unclear to me what's exceptional about the circumstances, and in general I feel pretty frustrated about the whole situation.

I get that, and in fact I think there's a pretty decent chance your team wins even if no action was taken. I just literally can't think of a single situation where changing a clue, particularly after discussion that is happening in response to that clue suggests the clue might have been misleading, fits the spirit of the rules. This is even a forum setting without the same time pressure to give clues without checking the rules or to come up with clues in general! I don't think there was any bad intent with this situation or with the googling, but the combination of both made the game more frustrating for me. The rules could have more obviously stated no googling, but the fact that I wasn't googling the movie I had never heard of and instead having to confirm that it even was a movie with my teammates was at the very least a context clue that google may not be an option.

I was so excited when I saw this post because with the exception of LIGHT every single guess in it was correct and every single one of our words was covered. I don't blame you all for passing but I couldn't think of a way to include all four remaining words together and I knew kittymo was turning around to LIGHT.
Moonraker was SATELLITE, LASER (the laser gun in the popular game Goldeneye is called the Moonraker and I was gambling one of you would know that) and DIAMOND (Bond Movie Title Word). I don't know why you all thought the movie took place in Rome but under the circumstances I wasn't complaining too much!
right for the wrong reasons, love it
I don't actually care whether it "counts" as a win or not, I just wanted to vent my annoyances

tbf I just read the checking with teammates thing rather than googling as you being lazy (not in a bad way!) and deciding that a lack of knowledge about bond would make you useless even if you did know more about that particular film
Nah, you guys googling your first clue was that much more annoying to me because I literally knew nothing about our first clue

Bridge should be a very safe guess. I like fork for forklift. Robots and sinks can be constructed. Ambivalent about crash/orange, not confident on Berlin/ball.

I wanted to explain why I see fork as being a stronger association than ball. Forklift is a single word. Imo there's fewer unique ways to clue the concept of fork than ball in general, especially with 3 food items on the board that may or may not need avoided. Wrecking ball otoh is ball tacked onto the end of something and just feels like a stretch to me.

Yeah uh this is an interesting clue. I believe there was a ball type event at the start of the movie before she turns into a frog. There's very prominent jazz music at the end of the movie for the happily ever after, though it's not specifically depicted as a concert. I suppose I'd probably lean more toward loch ness if we guessed in the "transformation" direction b/c idk frogs are aquatic and they spend a decent amount of the movie going along a river?? But frogs are also ... not loch ness monsters so that's a stretch. Tiana's main like goal in life is running a restaurant though as I mentioned, so olive/fork seem worth considering.

Is the logic behind "well" that it's something can be constructed? Like, by process of elimination I guess I'd consider it. Oil actually seems stronger to me than well (unless we think it's theirs?) Robot is still potentially a thing, too.
I feel like ball and fork were for Tiana, which makes me think there's 1 left for each of construction and Tiana.
I'm not suuuper confident in concert, though I don't really have anything better. I guess there's an outside chance of it being one of whatever the most frog-like of the water clues is (like loch ness, scuba).
