In post 3109, KittyMo wrote:I've literally never seen a single Bond movie so I'm not sure I'm much help here <_< Is Moonraker the title of one?

Moon seems most obviously connected to satellite so that would be my preferred first guess. I could go into other word association I have with moon and raker but I'm not entirely convinced that's relevant
tbf I just read the checking with teammates thing rather than googling as you being lazy (not in a bad way!) and deciding that a lack of knowledge about bond would make you useless even if you did know more about that particular film

Did someone google to find more information to better interpret a clue? That's bad
"Let us say that you are right and there are two worlds. How much, then, is this 'other world' worth to you? What do you have there that you do not have here? Money? Power? Something worth causing the prince so much pain for?'"

In post 3202, KittyMo wrote:So for RIOT: 4 we think we have two more. We've talked about club (weapon used in riots + possible music reference), Rome (fall of Rome), and row (argument). Nothing else really jumps out at me there.

For MOONRAKER: 3 we think we have two more. We've talked about Rome (set in Italy and possibly Rome itself), Diamond (general Bond reference), and Laser (I think b/c it's vaguely space/tech related? and/or a meme?). I think Light is also possible (as in moonlight). Raker on its own would make me think of Root maybe but I'm not convinced that's important. But at least one word needs to be pretty directly related to Bond/the movie I think, so I wouldn't recommend guessing laser/light/root/whatever before something more along the Rome/Diamond lines.
I was so excited when I saw this post because with the exception of LIGHT every single guess in it was correct and every single one of our words was covered. I don't blame you all for passing but I couldn't think of a way to include all four remaining words together and I knew kittymo was turning around to LIGHT.

Moonraker was SATELLITE, LASER (the laser gun in the popular game Goldeneye is called the Moonraker and I was gambling one of you would know that) and DIAMOND (Bond Movie Title Word). I don't know why you all thought the movie took place in Rome but under the circumstances I wasn't complaining too much!

as mentioned, happy to accept whichever judgement you all make

I personally don't think our fuck ups compromised the game but obviously I can't see it objectively and maybe they had a greater impact on my thinking as we played than I thought they did, which is why I wanted the decision out of our hands entirely

tbh i'd never heard of "steel brushes" (and google kept referring to them as "wire brushes") but you two probably know better in that regard than i do?
Wait can we Google things?

Okay I also fucked up here because I googled steel brush and steel dragon to see if I was remembering right

right for the wrong reasons, love it

I don't actually care whether it "counts" as a win or not, I just wanted to vent my annoyances

I thought steel dragon was a good clue because of the movie rock star, wasn't that the name of the band?
