Notice that the data showed that the number of people who register at all with a numbers name is vastly lower as well. So "the top 50 posters mostly don't have numbers" and "The last 50 MD thread creators mostly don't have numbers" isn't necessarily reflecting a retention difference because the users you're hoping to retain aren't distributed 50/50.

It's a hypothesis I'd also take but those seem like poor reasons.

lmfao@ this thread. I rarely replace out and don’t fit any of the stereotypes that people have associated with numbers at the end of the username but this faulty analysis may be the result of ignoring creativity in employing a number at the end of one’s name.

I for instance, did it to both pay homage to the Hitchcock film. “The 39 Steps” and also because I incorrectly assumed that their was a Nancy Drew novel with “39” in it. it turns out that there is one with “99” in it though.
