General Rules/Game Etiquette

1. Obey all site-wide rules. We should all know this by now, right? Right?
   
2. Talking outside of the thread about this game is forbidden. The only way you're allowed to is if your role gives you permission to a PT. If that's the case, you may talk about the game in there.
   
3. Quoting any private communications in the thread isn't allowed either. You're allowed to quote it in any PTs you have access to, just not the main thread.
   
4. Flavor may not be merely flavor in this game. Flavor may have significant impact on the game. It's up to you to determine if that's the case however.
   
5. Follow the golden rule, (do unto others as you would have them do unto you), at all times. I understand mafia can get heated, but keep it civil.
   
6. If you can somehow edit/delete your posts, don't. If I find out you did, then I'll have to figure out exactly what I do next, and it'll probably result in a reroll.
   
7. Play towards your win-condition at all times. Don't gamethrow.
   
8. I reserve the right to update these rules as I see fit. Rule updates will be announced publicly in thread.

Activity/Prods and V/LA

1. At least once every 48 hours, you
   must post relevant, game-advancing content,
   otherwise you will be prodded.
   
2. If you actually post literally once every 48 hours, I reserve the right to change your prod-timer to be 24hrs.
   
3. If you accumulate three prods OR you do not reply within 24hrs of the prod, you will be replaced.
   
4. Prodges will delay the prod-timer for 24hrs.
   
5. If you are V/LA, prods will come every 72 hours.
   
6. All V/LAs must be declared in thread, or via the V/LA tags.
   
7. If you will have an excessively long V/LA or will not have regular access to the internet/forums, please request replacement instead.
   
8. Saturday and Sunday are both counted to be 12hrs long, for sake of prods.

Deadlines/Player Actions

1. Unless told otherwise, each day will last two weeks, and each night will last two days.
   
2. If the day/night is extended for any reason, I will post that in thread.
   
3. If you possess any actions, you must submit it to
   me
   otherwise it will be treated as if you took no action.
   
4. If you may target multiple people, you must specify which action targets which player, otherwise I will disregard them.

Voting

1. A simple majority is required to lynch, (half the player list, rounded down, plus one).
   
2. No-Lynch requires a simple majority if the number of living players is odd, and only half if the number is even.
   
3. If you are using an abbreviation of a player's name, please make sure we can understand who you are referring to. If we can't, it doesn't count.
   
4. If it looks like a vote, it is a vote.
   
5. Unvoting isn't required, but appreciated.
   
6. There is no plurality, and if you don't lynch someone by deadline, nobody gets lynched.
   
7. If you have multiple votes, your oldest vote is changed before the newer ones.

Setup Specific Rules

1. There is guarenteed to be at least five (5) Town-Aligned players, two (2) Mafia-Aligned players, and one (1) Cult-Aligned player.
   
2. All PTs have daytalk enabled.
   
3. Lynchers and Jesters do not automatically end the game if they win.
   
4. Cults cannot recruit informed scum. (Eg. Mafia cannot be recruited, but Serial Killers can.)
   
5. If a Lyncher's target is night-killed, they become a Neutral Survivor instead.
   
6. Special Events will occur every day, and last the entire day, unless specified otherwise.
   
7. The game is guaranteed to be role-madness, with one Vanilla Town role.
   
8. Korina is unlynchable.
   
9. chkflip is unkillable.
   
10. All players are allowed to submit a Last Will that will be shown in case they die. Last Wills must have the subject line of "EISAL v2 Last Will" or something to that effect for it to be counted, and they have a character limit of 1,500 characters.
    
11. All players are allowed seven (7) whispers per day. The subject line must be "EISAL v2 Whisper to (Name)" or something to that effect to be counted. Whispers have a 750 character limit.

Preface

Now, I know the last iteration of the idea I ran, (EISAL), it was horrible. I regret running it. It sucked. However, I'm wanting to change that. I want to give it another shot. This time, I'm changing it for the better. I'm using a much more rigorous process to create and review the setup as well as trying to get several others to help take a look at it and see what I need to do. Everything the setup will need, (events, special mechanics, etc.), will be determined before the setup even goes into signups. I can promise you that this iteration will be much better than the last, and will definitely make up for the previous one.

Why Should I Join?

Why should you join? That's a good question. I really don't know. This game is only mafia by the very bare technicalities of what a game of mafia even is. The rest of the game is pure lies, deception and murder. Only a few things are confirmed by me, the moderator, to be truthful. Everything else I say could be a lie. You never really know. I will attempt to make everything in it relatively balanced, however, I do promise regardless of how the setup ends up turning out, it will be extremely fun.

Features

So, now that I have your interest for the game, what even are the features/traits of the game that make me want to join it? I'm glad you asked! The setup will have the following things:
- Moderator lies and moderator bullshit!
- Special events!
- Mostly true rolecards!¹
- Role Madness with a single VT!
- Extremely bastard mechanics!
- Cults!
- An actually decent setup, except with extremely bastard stuff!

Setup Information

Unfortunately, that's all the fun stuff I got to share. Everything else I got is boring and the information I'm contractually obligated to share.
- 21 player game, (excluding any uninvited players...)
- 14 day / 2 day phases.
- Role Madness with a single VT.
- Special Events will occur everyday, affecting one or more mechanics of the game. They will last for the entire day unless otherwise specified.
- Guaranteed to have at least 5 Town, 2 Mafia and 1 Cultist². Other scum factions not guaranteed, but may be present.

What I'm Looking For Now

So, what am I looking for? Apart from the obvious answer of players, here is what I'm looking for:
- Players, (pre-ins accepted; 2/10 slots filled.)
- One Backup Mod
- Two or Three Reviewers

Regarding Hydras:

I am personally fine with hydras. I'm going to say a max of six or seven hydra accounts may join the game; any extra hydras above that will need to ask me first. As for a head limit, I'm going to impose a max limit of four heads. This game is highly bastard yes, but that still means I want the game to be playable.

I have asked chkflip, (my co-mod), about their opinion of allowing the hydras to communicate via discord, and this will be updated once I hear back. I personally am fine with hydras using discord to communicate, and my only request is that you post an invite link to the server in the hydra PT.

Hydras are allowed to use either the PT I provide, or a Discord server. Additionally, if you are using discord, the rules are the same as if you were using the PT on MS. I'm fine with you guys editing messages, but add what you edited at the end, don't delete messages, don't create any hidden channels and privately communicate in there, etc.

Edit: I have updated Post 3 with a statement regarding hydras. Basically, at most, six or seven hydras with up to four heads. Discord communication is allowed, but you gotta post an invite link in the hydra PT. Apart from that, don't do anything that you think would be against the rules in the discord server, (like creating secret channels I can't access.)

Regarding TSE's WOTM:

tl;dr - TSE is known to be toxic, and has been banned twice in the span of three weeks. I do not feel comfortable adding them to this game, especially when I am trying my hardest to ensure this doesn't become a re-run of EISAL v1. Although the playerbase wasn't toxic in that, the game itself was very poor overall, and I'm looking to change that this iteration. This game is meant to be very lighthearted and along the lines of outguess/out-shitpost the mod—and to allow me to really not have to moderate, except when I absolutely have to—and I don't feel TSE's personality meshes well with that. Not to mention I have gotten a few complaints about them joining.

Longer version one day... maybe.

1) No. It wouldn't be fine still for two reasons. a) Any hydras need to message me and explain why I should allow them to play, and you'd need to write a very convincing paragraph for that considering I recall you saying somewhere—although I currently can't find it—you were banned from two mafia sites, excluding MS. b) My WOTM still applies to you being in a hydra; you joining a hydra does not circumvent my WOTM, nor will it ever. Your username is TrueSoulEnergy, and I have stated that TrueSoulEnergy may not join this game. If you were to join a hydra—which, the members being known or not is irrelevant, you'd need to state who's in it in private at the very least—you are still joining the game, which I have said no to. However, let's say you were to create a hidden alt and/or hydra and play under it, (since you've stated you could do that), what would happen? First off, I wouldn't care. You'd be allowed to. But, if you were to ever slip up, or I have reason to suspect you're you, and I get confirmation that's the case, the listmods would be involved, I would force-replace and/or modkill you, and I would ask the listmods to take some form of action for actively attempting to circumvent my WOTM, as well as permanently blacklisting you.
2) I can't help with that. I'm only God in the games of mafia I run and the stories I write. I can't control people, nor do I know how to get into a game and have it start tomorrow. My best advise is I hope you have a lot of friends who are willing to join the game.
