On the RC read and I'm making a leap on the reasoning being the same but the timing suggests so. But it's worth asking.

Teacher what made you townread RC initially?
I wasnt intended that to be a read (though I do lean that way). I intended it to be more of a personality comment. I agree with the low key thing he said in the last couple of pages and I find that more enjoyable to play with than his domineering-without-explaining style. I get it works for him, but it turns me off, and I wasnt seeing it here (though there was a point in the Math 1v1 where it was at risk of slipping into that).

RC's posting at the time I made the like him comment was memey and amusing me, and I wanted to give credit for a player I have had sometimes reacted to. I also felt like he wasnt trying to be a more typical persona for him. But my confidence levels in reading RC are not high regardless.

I won’t be around more this weekend (family timez) and I disagree that I haven’t done anything AI yet.

While I normally expect you not to read me that well, I don’t like how you just keep repeating the same thing. It’s like you’re sitting back to see if I can be a consensus but don’t want to take the lead because I’ve already done two things you’ve called out as town indicative for me in the past.

1. Post count by your previous logic
2. Pushing back on RCE’s gratuitous TL of me.
3. Raising matters of interest in my own time and not being driven off how I approach the game for the sake of appeasing the others who’ve voiced the same view as you. They don’t know better, you do, and it gives me the vibes of blendy laziness with a side of leaving me open.

Because I misread her on me. But Im not feeling good about her generally.

I kinda also want Ari to share their read on me. I didnt like what he did with Math, and one of my teammates also has scum pings from that.

Plums a bit of a posting non-entity to me. Like they are posting, and jiving, but nothing's sticking to the me or the gamestate.

Feeling good about Ico and RCE (and hating the confusion with RCE and RC being in the same game). Also a lean on duck.

Blah on Bella's catchup. But Im back to xtomx's pop-in and disappearance being more of an issue nonetheless.

i want to circle-back to how/why you were expecting me to be able to read you (i.e. on postcount) by that point
I’ll circle back with you. I feel like I’m being freer here (yea, as plum(?) notes one liners and jokes) than I am when I’m scum, where even if I’m forcing content I’m forcing it to be contentful. Like the last time we talked I think I was a pure sortable by post count player. I don’t think that’s true any more, since I became aware of it, but after my last roll and reread, I still think the weight is different. It’s something I had made a note of, and so figured it would be something your meta mind might note as well. (Of course, bow that I’ve indicated awareness, and yoda yada).

Bottom line, I think we’re just still stuck at you not really reading me. Independent of our interactions, I still don’t “like” you that much this game, but I need to reread the RC 1v1 again to check myself. One of my teammates feels you for town in a way I don’t yet.

I think I’d rather Xtomx to Flopz of those two. I also don’t like how the Bella wagon kinda stalled and dissipated without sig analysis. I’d love to bear a Bella towncase or reasons to get off that current vanity.

I also tend to think the game has been mostly town in thread. I don’t get RC’s repeated suspicions of RCE in the quick ketchup, I’m pretty good on both being town, but found the notes interchange interesting if Townie for both.

Skitter remains the slot I’m most unsure of. I liked the genuine emotion in the RC 1v1, but I feel like she’s good enough to know that might be needed. The thing I’m having the hardest time pasrsing is the specific timing of her vote relative to the claim - like RC isn’t being lynched day 1 after that claim, so it seems like it could be LAMIST theater?

That’s a fair take RC, and the hypothetical situation is indeed possible. Indeed, that’s exactly what I was doing - I find the ease of the wagon on flopz distasteful, and it was the ease of it which made me prefer xtomx - to see if it’s a generic low-post wagon that can be shifted, or if there is motivation to this particular target. I normally dislike lynching the first serious wagon of the day, so wanted to see how a push off it would affect the board.

Skitter is not today’s lynch, so that wasn’t a counter proposal. I doubt Bella goes through, even if I want it to - that was a genuine request for your reasons to town the slot. And I do prefer xtomx to flopz, so am pushing that, but primarily because of the lack of opposition to Flopz or other redirect attempts.

Pedit: that’s a ton of posts since I started this, which was right after RC said xtomx won’t play while RC is alive (no idea of post number)

It was supposed to be a directed comment to RCE, but I forgot to tag and now I’m not really sure of why I remembered it so ??? Too much snow day/sleep deprivation I think.

@skit I’ll be around later tonight if you want to chat about anything. I get it, but tbh just don’t care to be in this lobby much this week. I feel like I’ve gotten what I’m going to get and am fine w the flip. If that doesn’t make sense to you, not sure I can add much but happy to try.

I did - traveled w the kids to their maternal great grandmother.

Of those two I’m more comfortable with RC, but want to know his evolution on me - when I left I was in his scum pool after having been an early townread, withouf much discussion of the difference, though I suppose it was because of his flop on ari?

Can’t fault you. I took RC’s and maths trs to mean I was essentially out of the pool and I really didn’t like the thread so I’ve just been staying out of it. I feel like I’ve found a good towncore (id sheep RCE hard rn and feel good about several players). Beyond that, I just need flips to start solving and was ok with most of the potential targets that have been wagonned.

That’s fair. I haven’t made it through that far yet.

But that’s my best pick in the [flopz/ari/plum/Bella/xtomx] pool I’ve got as my general preferred pool.

Bella read is contentious. My entire team that is reading the game agrees on Ari. With the noise from RC/TW and the fact it happened after I worked with Raybells meant exploring other wagons would get drowned out.
On Ari how? (Maybe in the 20 pages I’m about to read, if so sorry)

I think trying to get something more out of that pool today would be more productive than continued threadswamoing.

nah, I don’t think I’ve talked about you since your 1v1 with RC which I gave town points, with caveats, and volpe gave more. I’m used to feeling about you the way I do about RCE - just a mindset-level agreement. I didn’t have that here early but I can feel where you are coming from now (I think knowing you had blacklisted RC helped).

I agree on Ico blade RCE and skit. I don’t see what you’re seeing w Bella but others do so I’m willing to give that time. I think Ari has a ton of RC associatives you are weirdly discounting in that read. I’d love for you to split the hairs in the plum/tris//flopz pool because I think there’s one scum there but don’t have hairs to split myself.

RC, I don’t think is “subtle as possible”. It openly says “I’d rather Ari” to TW. In case that wasn’t obvious:

[suze=150]
I would rather lynch Ari than TW

I’m just compromising because I don’t have the kind of influence I would need to push that through.

The ones you were responding to in real time quoted 2925, where I openly said “I’d rather Ari,” so still don’t see the supposed subtlety.

Yea, it’s a wording/tone issue more than a substance issue. Like I get what you’re saying and am aware I am defending duc- I have reservations about his lynch even if I prefer it to yours. It’s just that I think you overstated it in a weird way - “casing” when I had one offhand sentence responding to tw’s read (not as an affirmative point) and “as subtlety as possible” when I don’t think I’ve been subtle at all.

Actually not a bunch, but Bella’s making the same point.

@RC since you’re around I actually want to ask you whether you were serious when you think it’s more probable that scum put themselves on evens than we have a semi protective? Because if I were scum, I’d absolutely kill last night - even with your skill, you’d have to hit the “right”scum and there’s like no controlling for that, so it’s like Max 20% risk of a kill even accounting for superhero RC (which ducks flip shows isn’t the case, but that’s a postgame topic). Honestly that comment just felt wrong, and more striving for wifom than anything else you’ve done.

A. Whether or not they holster doesn’t change (sig) the odds of you getting lynched today.

B. You’ve claimed full detective. The odds of their being a full protective are slim with that, so why not just go to odds by taking you out (no gamble at all, and it’s not like your reads were right).

C. LOL @ you having at least a +15% chance of hitting the right scum. You didn’t even hit scum at all.

I actually was townreading you yesterday too but that open sharply reduces it actually.

Pedit - will actually read the six posts since I started this after.

I’m fine with an ari/RC alternative. My plan for the day was to push plum to get more investment then try to wheel it back onto one of them anyways.

I don’t like the shade from Ari. I thought my eod was pretty obviously town, or as much so as I get. Duck, blade and RC - heck even Bella - seemed to agree. So aris opening posting with that and lack of depth continued the inadequacy I felt there yesterday, even if at times it felt like it was going to be too easy to lynch.

I’m really liking the discussion, especially of the slots we need more content from: tris, plum, Ari (posts =! Content)

This is your reminder that nobody has mentioned xtomx since start of D2.

@skit - what’s your take on me?

@Ico - you quoted ari on me, but not Bella or my reactions. Thoughts on that?

Of 4 mentions of Tris in Teacher's iSO, 3 are accompanied by Plum. I'm not exactly sure what that means but it probably means something.
It means that I think they are both relatively bland slots who have tried to avoid attention and haven’t really differentiated themselves to me. Other people keep making distinctions. I don’t. I’d happily pressure or lynch either.

But you can still try to advance town as you go down, rather than pretending that there is nothing to be gotten out of dayplay, regardless of the ultimate lynch.

I’m not going to comment on the tw-you cluster until after game, but I’ll leave a marker that I disagree with your interpretation of his statements.

This is a pointless question

I thought it would be a reasonably possible thing in TM to give town a vig to antisynergize with me

I never thought it was true

Skitter I want to move on and if the game is going to scumread me forever the game has to move on; why do you call me confscum then act like me trying to resolve the issue is an unhelpful thing
It’s not with a no kill, as it makes the presence of a vig (and hence your claim) a little less plausible.

You just read me as scum. Who’s shutting you down now? IMO you manufacture narratives after the fact that suit you ego. Like hell yes you’re a great player. But not perfect as you sell - as with the “subtle” inter player earlier, you overstate. Now I have no interest in a return to yesterday’s fun, so I won’t go back and forth on this. I’m just stating, as best I can, that there’s a more helpful way to be approaching this day.

tbf i think that this is an unfair line of questioning
Why? It’s something that at least has some bearing on the plausibility of the claim, and RC is a world builder who thinks through these things (as shown by the original vig hypothesis), so why not get the benefit of his thoughts on the world we are in?

Skit I’m traveling and vLa but reading up. Happy to discuss anything. My vote was ari because I am pretty confident on my reads of math and RCE, and I’m slight town on RC though my team (ofrhz) wants that lynch.

I’d like to see things out o shos/saudade now that those slots have replaced, or xtomx since they’ve taken the game basically off. I’m disappointed that in 160 pages I don’t really have more/strong scum elands, it can’t really do anything about that. At least I feel my towns well and can work with them, even if I think there is probably a wolf in that pack too.

I feel like I’m currently the designated lylo lynch and don’t like that much, since it results in a loss, but also don’t really know how to change much since I don’t think much has changed.

-on you, I believe there is a deep wolf (or two) in this game. I don’t think it’s math. I think there’s about equal chance of RC/RCE, which is why I’ve got the pending question to RCE. I think you could *possibly* be scum with RC, but are unlikely to be by yourself. In other words, I townread you, but with paranoia (less paranoia than on RC).

-math has been hard pushing Ari. RCE is pushing RC, but calling ari openwolf. That’s two of my townreads calling out a slot that has been difficult to lynch and that I don’t see putting out content.

- on stronger scumreads, I’m not the type to fake it. I feel good about my towns, but there are way too many slots just being allowed to skate by. If we get content out of shos/saudade/xtomx and Bella, I will start feeling stronger.

- because everyone’s blah on me but I’m being enough of a presbence to be discussed, but not really considered (yet)

Pedit: began this when skits post I am responding to was the most recent thing.

@rc I agree with the townblock, especially the inclusion of Ico. Flopz I’m weaker on, but including due to the ease of wagon and response. I’d like more out of that slot. But if we can get all those players onto a single wagon today I think it will be good.

Kinda want to talk with RCE if he picked up my directed message in this thread before answering this, to see if he agrees with my creeping suspicion about the role of one of them. It’s the one I think is either tor or scum, and it’s the former is the only reason I haven’t pushed that slot independently before.

Ty. I did see this but again it seemed to be moving with the board (following RCs voice iirc) rather than independent evolution, despite being worded that way.

And yes, I do have an independent scum read of ari. And I think his flip doesn’t say much about RC.

That’s the thing, I feel like I’ve been saying EXACTLY this since D1, but it hasn’t happened. I know I have neither the investment nor influence to make it happen, but I’d really love to make a “no discussing RC” rule for two days and see what happens in thread. It’s why, as RC pointed out, tris/plum appear together throughout my iso - me saying I need more from those slots. It’s why I tried to redirect the wagon. It’s why I began the day with a reminder that nobody was talking about xtomx. I feel like several things you have said today, I said first, and yet your nully-scum on me, for reasons I don’t quite get.

I don’t think so? Like I’m playing my totally normal game, which holds up fairly well against any of my other games that I’ve played with you, and I normally fall into the boards null-blah pile but I feel meta-you should see it? I’m not really sure what to say to this - perhaps I shouldn’t be surprised you aren’t townreading me since you never really have before (I think I even collected the links in our most recent discussion like this), but I also don’t really know how to make you see the nose in front of your face, so.....

It was to see what would happen with a vote and more momentum. It’s a scumread I have. It’s not my strongest. It’s not just sheeping, but I thought it could add something to what had been a blah day

I will type up my thoughts on ari, but that will require a desktop and tabs not mobile. What I can say as of right now is that I haven’t seen any unique content or thought process, but more posturing. (The RCE is bit is a good example, it postures at iso-reading, but doesn’t actually give any evidence of having done so and in both instances - raising the read and discarding it - seems to follow the flow of discussion). Basically I developed a scumread about mid-day one and haven’t seen anything to move me off it.

it's possible that i'm conflating differnet games (i've played a lot and a few are starting to run together in my head at this point)
or maybe i'm thinking of later in the game (i.e. a later part of the gamestate than where we are here, comparitively)

you might be right tho, let me take a look (tomorrow (irl)) and it's possible that i'm just very badly misremembering because the picutre i have in my head of you is 'easy to read-ish around day2 by postcount, secondarily by contributions'
I fake claimed dr because you were on my wagon D1 (I think) You saw the real dr crumb and so never lost the scumread of me even when menalque (as scum) tried to help us. I tried to tell you I was fakeclaiming by repeatedly linking back to Shoshin in 2080 - who had fake claimed - but you never picked up on it.

Thinking back, 2080 you had me ok. That’s the one time I think you had me ok, but overall you don’t read me that well.

Can anyone non-meta towncase ari? That would, if I find it plausible, increase my willingness to vote shos like 10,000 percent. I heard skitter on meta:responsiveness, but that does just about nothing for me since I don’t have my own meta knowledge and neither the time nor inclination to do it myself.

I’m pretty sure on what one side of the current divide is saying happened last night, and it makes more sense as an explanation for their conduct today than does a scum sitting on their kill. I also independently townread that and side harder than the ones pushing the shos slot. So that’s my Hang up/hesitancy.

@RCE by the way, thanks for calling out your answer to the test question. Two follow ups:

1. What is your read on me without testing?
2. Did you pick up on the crumb I called out to you earlier (mid day 1 ish, can find tomorrow if needed), and do you agree if you did?

No, picking up on it was kinda irrel. It was about volxens role there and the possibility it’s in here. But I finally researched the normal rules and it’s not allowed. So my b.

That kinda makes me a lot more interested in xtomx than I have been recently.

I think it makes sense from Maths point of view.

I think the push on you was semi-serious, but also to break the rut that the day had turned in by injecting a new push and seeing what happened. What happened , again fhpov, is a hard chainsaw from RC. So it went from a “New/different” push to a serious push.

Like RC started the day kinda pushing you (this is what led ofrhz to want his lynch, saying he was getting rid of players known to be good in the late game). Then, when math makes the same push, RC turns the thread into fun times again.

Like, at a surface level, you-RC-ari makes some sense given how the days have played out, and would account for town being lost despite there being a hard “towncore”. I do think his actions are a legit solve attempt, just not right because I don’t think the two of you would ever be so clear.

Can we talk about xtomx? I’d been giving it a bit of a break since I thought it crumbed a pr (mirror), even if it was not playing that or how I would play it. Now that I know mirrors aren’t in normals, I find it weird that a slot with that little content hasn’t gotten more attention.

This one. It shows a true attempt to game out various possibilities and understand the subtext of the resistance you were getting from a town POV.

I’m still grading and binging suits, but will get on latter. @skit - I wanted to reread the ketchup, it was difficult to parse but seemed oddly tilted towards weird times to read into and designed to give the lamisty flavor of an entirely new take, but one that wouldn’t find support when read against plums real-time posting (something I hav not done but mean to). Overall, it didn’t buy a ticket out of my Lynch pool but it did but some time for reflection whenever I do sit at a comp.

And I suppose we keep meeting each other. Sorry for the last ones aggression.

Ari I’m getting better on. I think it’s a play style dissonance dislike of the frivolity, but without 5e RC paranoia it gets better. I’m kinda just willing to sheep you on the meta since my enduring suspicions of you were also focused around RC. Bottom line: out of my Lynch pool, but well below those I feel strongly on.

Let’s talk rce because that’s another tow read I have with lingering doubts. Like I’m used to feeling a presence there that I haven’t been. It’s part of why I was surprised they hadn’t tested em. Like I don’t think they have been doing as much of solving in their own way as I’m used to. To be clear - I still feel that’s very very town, just voicing the naggling doubt.

Wait I have a new theory that is still consistent with all of the above. @RC think it through.

Yea. And I was just kidding, it didn’t work in any event - took me like two levels down to see it’s flaw.

What do you make of RC outing a protective theory?

And then now going back on it?

I find that odd town!RC would ever out such a theory?
Tell me the scum motivation for putting it in thread rather than in pt. I mean please.

UNVOTE:

Actually that was exuberance. But I do think I’ve finally caught a scum. I will do the reading I’ve promised later tonight and vote if I’m still feeling this solve.

That youre scum. It makes some sense with vcas, pairings I’ve kept in my head, and game events. But I want to do it rationally, not on adrenaline that I’ve got rn.

F it. I’m going to a computer now.

Pedit: ya, trust me I saw them. And Icos to you. It’s why I said you were never the Lynch. But greater insight into the waves yields greater understanding.

You do you. I have to stack my theories a little bit, but for now pure maths and Vcs say you are the likelier scum of the two, even I doubted RCs play more.

Would you also be interested in knowing I already crumbed what I am? So it’s no real loss off my back if I go first but we really oughta listen to Ducky here.
I am very interested, but I also dont want to out roles. Lets assume you have one that gets some kind of a result. Did you get one?

I agree with this theory, in terms of posting/teams.

OK, since everyone has outed the theory of Ico being protective, I'll acknowledge thats part of it.
Now, add RC's catch about Ico not having a clear on you. Because that is clearly what Ico said.
Add them up. Thats the maths part.

How can a protective not have a clear when there is no death (and everybody but RC agrees a kill was surpassingly likely to be attempted).

Now you see RC's town motivation in outing the catch? Because everyone was playing around it like it was a clear (because the crumbs were pretty f'ing loaves), when it wasnt, and it helped town to have better knowledge.

Now, youre slightly more likely to be a kept killer, than killee. But against that, I have to weigh the fact that you were a uni-town read (whom it made sense to keep), and RC is alive as an unprotected claimed detective when he is known as a fearsome townplayer even without the PR (but, of course, scum could have expected him to be auto-lynched today). So Im at the point where its unlikely both you and RC are TvT, and I find his solve efforts more impressive, tbh. I just have to check if they are motivated to get rid of the person that could be conf!town D3/D4.
