his joking is not just joking, but reveals that there's more than a surface-level amount of thought gone into how he's approaching the game

it'd be very hard for scum hectic to do this and keep it up for the duration of a game, and make it seem even remotely authentic. the two competing reads on hectic are that he's absolute galaxy-brained scum or more likely, he's just a town player playing the game and who has thought about the mechanics
