I felt confident that it is likely to flip scum given the composition of the wagon. I also do not think that most roles will be useful this game given they are tied to the Stones chosen, so if he ended up being a good power role, chances are it is tied to the more negative utility Stones.

That is exactly why I think he is scum. I think scum are more likely to lurk/generally "not play" than town. A lot of the appeal to Mafia the Game is the detective-solving-a-crime aspect. That is lost when playing as scum. Moreover, playing scum is more stressful because the stakes are higher. Stress also decreases general enjoyment of games.

I also feel that Aeronaut's posts (albeit he does not have many) are totally devoid of scumhunting.

My role is fairly complicated. It is a toolbox. I have a 1-shot commuter ability that I can use independent of stone. I did not use it last night in case a vig or cop used their power on me because i hammered town. If it had been a scum flip, i would have used my commuter ability. My role does have something sweet but that requires Mage level 3. The lower mage levels do have other niche-useful things though.

In this game, no. From a design perspective, yes.
The neighborhoods that I have been in have never been randomized unless specifically stated. My default is assumption, as a result, is that neighborhoods are not randomized, but their composition of town/scum is explicitly chosen.

Since you are a neighbor, you can ask JJH if the neighborhood was randomized. He might tell you.

I do not understand his desire to have his Neighborhood active thus voting the Warrior stone, yet he does not use it. He has now several times promised to catch up or look over the game, yet does not answer questions directed toward him. I cannot see how this is a Town mindset. I already was suspect of Aeronaut for his end of Day 1 posting surrounding TiphaineDeath's lynch. His posts of substance did not start until after the lynch already occurred, and I find it odd he posted his stance on everyone and then started reviewing and posting about individual posts from players. I dislike Xtoxm posting a read list of all of the players and then after I called him out for not actually reading he admits to skimming and not reading thoroughly; however, he has a hard stance that the Neighborhood is all Town which, despite me providing points in refutation, he still holds to because it is a "neat design."

Killing the Mage Leveler makes it much more difficult to get those powerful abilities. Hence, I wouldn’t have made this kill if I was going to kill a Leveler.


Re: why I can only be scum with either Dongfish or Zenith

Zenith just revealed a parity cop result stating that Dongfish and I share an alignment. This immediately puts us into two universes.

Universe A: Dongfish and I are scum together (the last two remaining scum). This explains Zenith’s parity cop result on us.

Universe B: Zenith and I are scum together and Zenith lied about his parity cop result on me and Dongfish. This means that if Dongfish flips, I become “conftown” to the town and I won’t be nightkilled because I’m mafia so the town will never know the Zenith parity cop result is a lie. If I die and I’m scum, then Dongfish immediately gets killed because the parity cop directly implicates him.


Does that make sense why I said those things?

How is it false? Wasn’t one of the Levelers in the neighborhood outed? It’s not a great logical jump to see who claimed what for flavor, see that there are levelers in the hood, and put two and two together.

Otherwise, this means that I am either scum with one of the neighbors still alive, or have an ability to find out if someone is a leveler. We know that I cannot be scum with one of the neighbors due to the parity cop result (unless there are 4 scum in this game which would be ridiculous). That leaves us with I somehow found out that the neighbors are all levelers. I have not been acting this entire game. I also do not have a rolecop ability. In addition, this would mean that one of Zenith or Dongfish has the ability to figure out the levelers. As they have both already claimed no such ability and at least Zenith has proven his ability, this is also not the case.

So that leaves back at square 1.

It was partly your day play on the first day and pops read on you. When you asked for the Thief Stone it confirmed to me that you were probably vig. When Alimidia started asking obvious questions about it, I felt like your cover was blown so I revealed so Wake could have a target to protect. At this point, if you die before Wake dies, then Wake is scum. Plus we can use your shot to kill half of the remaining PoE people. I think it is probably GG unless Dong and SS are scum lel

It's ok. I understand why you reacted the way you did, especially when I openly said you were the vig. I would have reacted the same way. I partly did it because SS said the game is in #winmode if he could find the vig + one more townie. At this point, operating under the assumption that Wake is town gets us to that 5 person town bloc. At any rate, Wake reveals himself as scum if you ever die, so I thought it was safe to do what I did.

Fair enough.That one could definitely be useful. My current favorite for that slot is "Is there a bodyguard in the game?" Odds that Wake is scum bodyguard are minuscule so a "yes" seems like a pretty safe bet that Wake is town. I could also do "IC" if for whatever reason we were unable to confirm DF (not positive, but I'm pretty sure the mod would allow me to do IC instead of spelling out innocent child).Though there's a different question I think I'd rather ask instead, but we'll see. It's dependent on who we lynch and what they flip as well.

If you do go down this route, please let me know which role you're planning on asking about. I am a Jack of All Trades so there could be a false positive.

i think scum could have used the strongman, and on top of that 2-3 town roles needed vanillising or heavy gating by stones
i thought you personally played well on later days gobble and logicking out the eve's deathproof connection to thief stone was good work

It was attached to the mage stone which had super antitown equity. My “kill” was that I could instantly lynch someone at L-1, but since Mage lowered L-1 by 1, I could lynch someone with just my vote on the final day
