He was pretty chaotic in Fire on the mountain, and I rarely see him play for anything other than personal gain and chaos, so it seems applicable. I don't think no expectations is nsg underrating herself, I think it's her making herself approachable. I think nsg is very comfortable and aware of her ability to read people and play mafia, but I think she prefers to experience the game from a more objective position. I think her not "taking the the throne" is just because it doesn't feel natural on her. She isn't the sort of player to seek self worth or glory or fame from her ability or record, more she seems to enjoy the mild and unattached interaction between players. I think princess paragon would likely get accepted by her not necessarily because she'd like or dislike it, but because she enjoys seeing how people approach situation, she's relatively quick to appease, and she is interested in the way other people view her and each other.

For these reasons, I don't think the title fits.

Okay so my actual problem with "Deep Wolf" as a title is that is is a broad mafia term and it could be applied tk so many people in so many games. He did a great job, yes. He was not caught, yes. But is he the pinnacle of deepwolf play on MS? No.

Well, I disagree with your disagreement.

By which, I mean, I agree with Jingle. Deepwolf is a meme title which isn't really special enough for what Dannflor is.

And because I am the title fairy, that puts extra weight behind my point.

I won't pass Deepwolf, The Deepwolf, Deepscum, or The Deepscum for Dannflor. Trying to convince me to is a waste of time which should be better spent coming up with a title I WOULD pass.

If you don't think that Dirty Dan is a good title, but you do want to title Dann off of the deepwolf idea, feel free to suggest something!

With the amount of valid points against the title, as is right now, I am leaning towards not passing dirty Dan (but could easily be swayed back, so if you really want that, present your case!), so I am incredibly open to ideas here.

Like I said, I want there to be more talks about the title idea.
Of the suggested ideas thus far, dirty Dan has been the one I've thought was the best, but given the reasons why not to give that title, I probably won't give it.

So if the best idea thus far is one which I won't pass, we now need something even better which I WOULD. It doesn't need to be perfect, but it does need to be better than what we've had suggested thus far.

To be clear, I'm not supporting the deepwolf title. I'm simply opposing a particular set of reasons Ari has proposed as a counter to the argument that "deep wolf" is a good title for damn floor. I personally don't like either title, and while the title I proposed is --ahem-- far from optimal, the method I employed to reach such a conclusion as that is one I am a rather large proponent of, at least a size greater than that of either of the other two titles produced.

Alright, so here's where I'm at on Dann - because we've talked a bit and I feel like I at least somewhat know him, I'd like to share and maybe that will help us come up with a better title for him:

The one game where Dann was actually close to a deep wolf that I remember was No Deadlines mafia, where he replaced in and dropped a reads list that was so good that the only real reason people scum read him was because they thought he must have had help in the scum PT - he didn't. He was then killed a few real life hours later during the night because the SK thought he was too townie. He was scum that game.

In most other games he comes off as scummy often because of the way he poses questions and takes stances - he's not particularly aggressive, he often comes off as if he's sitting on the fence, because he's very quiet about how he feels and thinks. This makes it difficult for players to see where he's coming from or his thoughts, and this makes them think he's either sitting on the fence or waiting and being opportunistic. For this reason he's often considered on people's reads lists as high deep wolf likelihood, especially when players are town reading him.

Other interesting aspects of dann - he's amiable, young, quiet, nerdy, mature, intelligent, caring, careful, and a relatively solid mafia player

I don't know that any of these things make it easier to find a title for him, but maybe if we just talk about aspects of dannflor that we like we can reach a conclusion more easily?
