imo, without an actual scumslip lynching a scum D1 is usually luck. My D1 reads are pretty much based on gut/vibes/TR Sheeps. Once the deadline is getting too close for comfort and there is no consensus lynch, a PL fof a lurker/inactive player might become a topic. But on D1, lynching an inactive player is also just shooting in the dark and hoping that scum is lynched.

I also hate trying to assign anyone to town or scum based on what they say on day 1. Scum arent stupid and if they have any ability can look like town. If it was easy to find scum day 1 from just talking, this game wouldn't be worth playing.

I town read him mostly for that post and it being way more shameless if coming from scum. Just read that post again and imagine yourself begging other players to let you live as either alignment.
If he’s town, it’s still mildly ok cuz BEF should be aware that “the other players won’t regret letting him live”.
But if he’s scum, that’s just kinda pathetic and it would be REALLY embarrassing to write.

That;s also why I asked if the post was written before getting his alignment. Even if he has a history of being policy-lynched, as long as the post was written after he got his role, I think it should be AI.

I need a someone to provide a different perspective on BEF for me. I think his only pro-town post so far is 209. That is actually a solid pro-town post. Next time I play and are assigned scum I might copy and paste that. Well done. This is also his 19th post and on page 9. And it's his first of actual content.

The next set of posts which are relevant content to the game vs meta-y is the 305 post of a fake hammer. So previously I had mentioned that his came after UnaBombaH's fake hammer. I was mistaken. BEF's fake hammer happened first. Then UnaBombaH's fake hammer was second. BEF claimed hammer but it was actually L-1 where then UnaBombaH fake hammered having previously voted geraintm. My issue with this is how BEF's vote onto a bandwagon seems to be placed along with his jumping on the bob3141 wagon. The fake hammer was used twice and UnaBombaH's fake hammer and justification was better explained and struck me as pro-town. Once the bob3141 train got rolling is when BEF posted piggy backing off UnaBombah.

My scum read from BEF comes from a combo of three things:
1) Posting in clusters but not very often. This strikes me as lurking with the multi-post strategy of giving the illusion of not lurking. One and done is a lurker vibe. Just appear to lurk less than the lurkers.
2) Jumping on BOTH wagons late with IMO weak as hell justification.
3) Last but Most Important: His posting has been an awful lot of quotes and just a quick reaction. This strikes me as a read & react type player than someone going through the forum actively trying to figure stuff out. This is how to play scum 101. You show you're reading through the forum but actually not scum hunting.

Scum wins by looking more town than the weakest town member and that's what BEF reeks of, trying to look more pro-town than the worst townie. It all seems disingenuous to me.

Again, if someone has a better read on BEF, I'm open to it. This all strikes me as very scummy behavior but I don't know BEF. Is this what he does?

This might be absolutely nothing, but I got a slight ping from this.
There's a silly mistake here, you see.

Profii has removed me and "Nippy" from the first line already, before explaining why.
Hence, he repeats the exact same "line of remaining suspects" after mentioning us separately.

Could be a legit mistake, but if I'd play the devils advocate here, I'd say that the post might be "crafted" in the sense that he added/changed something to fit an agenda or faked reads better.
Meaning that since I know my own alignment, I'm also wary of the chance that scum!BEF might now imply scum!Nippy.

If I read BEF as scum for coming outta the woodwork to just jump on wagons, boy........ that hammering of bob3141 was really weird. It developed really quick. Still, the biggest reason why BEF is scum is his positioning in regards to Aloratom. He tried hard to not have him be killed even ignoring simple VCA, while using VCA to do other things, including vote Egix. He voted Egix, used VCA, yet flat out ignored voting Aloratom for the same reason, and even tried defending Aloratom.
