Yet, for a slot that's set to die, you sure aren't interested in scumhunting. You're more interested in rhetorical gotcha games which fail because I am town.

The simplest explanation is that either a) you're lying or b) you're being setup because the barb is a scum tool.

The more you resist basic questions, the more it looks like you're lying. If you survive, town can just lynch you tomorrow. So it really just makes sense to try and pump you full of reads questions regardless of if you're lying or honest.
