Claiming scum by yourself or with other players is fine provided that it is clear to the moderator you are not attempting to throw the game.

@mod: HYPOTHETICALLY speaking, if an infected person were to claim they were infected for the purpose of hoping someone had a cure, Would it be considered throwing the game?

Since you should strive to achieve your current win condition, this would likely count as not playing towards your win condition. (Getting cured does not advance the Infected win condition.)

I would like to cite the case of

In this landmark case, the Supreme ruling authority has established the precedent that getting playing to get cured does not advance the Infected win condition therefore not playing to your win condition. Now through this we can extrapolate to this case

. Seeing as you were infected Night 4, we can establish the idea that you indeed had the infected win condition thus curing yourself would not be playing to the infected win condition thus rendering you committing the ultimate sin of "throwing the game"

Take it up with the mod, not me. That's the role I got. I don't think willfully changing your own alignment counts as playing against your own win condition since once the action is taken I no longer have that win condition. The PM says I have the option to remain infected and study the infection, so it's not like it's a compulsory thing.
