What I have to ask is why the mafia team tried basically not at all to get titus voted on day 3 when if she's town. Need to go back and unwind the chronology of some things.

I still think if he had a gun, it's probably a reasonable assumption that he'd shoot there over anyone else still alive though? Especially if he was discussing it with mastina (since mastina had Donkey Kong as one of the people she most wanted dead).

But if we're going back to guessing, doesn't it make sense for any cautious scum not cleared by Chemist to block the shot?

I've had that happen to me several times recently and it has always burned me and left me a shambles. I still haven't internalized that thinking somehow. What about it? 1 flipped mafia voting me? Or I guess, from your POV, is it more likely that jks/maria are not s/s because both were on a small wagon on me? I don't think there's a hard and fast rule that scum have to avoid voting with each other so much, they can just not care or they can do it deliberately to obfuscate analysis. However, sure, it probably makes it less likely (my skim last night reawakened my old biases and that is influencing my answer here).

Looking at the VCs, the two scum lynches were largely uncontested and the two surviving players I have to pick from largely avoided voting anywhere on contested early game wagons.

It keeps drawing me back to 2.2. Day 2 seemed to be more about which town would be mislynched given we couldn't lynch beeboy. The scumteam wouldn't help push any of the wagons along as they didn't want to get dirty and mastina was throwing a panzer fit all on her own. I can't see why JKS and MariaR would both pile onto Catboi as scum partners. The motivation just doesn't make sense to do that. It makes even less sense since this team up occurred well before I arrived into the game.

Actually, instead of waiting to do an iso-review first, I'll say the easy thing first. From my perspective, there are two possible narratives as to how the mafia team played:

1. Maria tries to bus battle mage early, wagoning him and he self-votes in response. townie titus tries to use her vig power to help town, but unfortunately gets tricked into shooting the one member of the mafia with a redirect power. In spite of this, neither maria or beeboy try very hard to get titus voted out when it could win them the game.

2. Maria pushes battle mage early as a mis-elimination. He was one of a handful of targets she went after. She was much more cautious of sujimichi. on day 2, when all the wagons have stagnated, titus-scum proposes a plan that keeps her, maria, and beeboy all safe from the day's elimination while granting them an extra kill that night. As suspicion is being expressed of titus the next day, beeboy 'slips' by claiming 3 nights' worth of actions, as pointed out by maria, and he gets flipped and his role card reveals him as a redirecor, 'clearing' titus.

One of these is the portrait of a scum team that is trying to win. The other is of a team that has been trying to lose and is throwing against itself at every turn.

Now, I think I know which reality seems more likely to me. This was basically the conclusion of a day of thinking about the game earlier. These are points I have already made, but it only really clicked when i put them together, my reads of both jks and titus and how they work in concert, what portrait of the game do those reads together have, do they tell a story that makes sense? And so that was how I settled back into my assumptions from a few days ago before I briefly panicked, as I tend to do. But second-guessing leads to regret, so I won't do that. (And if I'm wrong about my read, well, creature should have made a more convincing case than "can't remember anything he's done, or whatever it was)

Okay. That's a relief. I was going to vote that way anyway under the acceptance that if he was mafia he'd engineered a winning gamestate anyway.

Still sort of wanted to iso jks as a technical exercise to affirm my beliefs, but I guess I waited too long. I realized a while ago there was a certain irony in me whining about people tunneling me for my predecessor's actions while I was tunneled on him for his predecessor's actions. One of many things in my play this game that was bad.

Sigh. Sorry Titus. Sorry Creature. Sorry everyone - pretty much every plsy I made this game was shit. I knew I was being dumb with what I was saying but couldn't pull back. I had briefly considered at the start of the day phase that on sheer tone that titus made more sense as town but couldn't commit to that and with her voting me feeling like an inevitability I just sort of rolled over. I'm just glad it's over.
