I remember being really curious what you were like as a player after Dystopia, should be fun! Hopefully this one goes better+I don't drive myself to such obsessive lengths again

...Then again, this would be the game to do it

I also completely forgot I played Midsummer RIP

Town obsessive in that case. I'm being a bit disingenuous though-it's when I'm that relentless and obsessed that the game is most fun for me. It's just gotten progressively rarer and rarer.

but also it's very demanding on the other players+my real life

I can't in good faith say I have any thoughts so far. The votes on me are OK. I might as well throw some gas on the fire and see what happens.

So I've had thoughts since Page 13 but wanted to give more time to see if I could get some more votes on me for reaction. 6 more pages and more than half the playerlist, it looks like this won't happen unless I just want to AFK even now that I have things to say. Kind of disappointing but there's a limit to how self-indulgent I can be. My thinking was that if I'm not going to be useful any other way, I might as well just see what happens if I played openly dismissive. Of the playerlist, I've only played with FL and I barely noticed him either time, meaning I couldn't really open the way I like to. I was really disappointed Morph didn't tag onto the vote given their previous interest, then realized they apparently want to sync their vote, but then still didn't swing it even when the other came around so alas.

Both Bulge and Ffery misinterpreted those posts, by the way. I was never bored/apathetic of the game. I was extremely interested and eager to see what would result.

framing this boredom as a reaction test doesn't make it any less scummy
I don't think it's fair to SR prism yet, you look like your just looking for an easy target here without explaining your process much
UNVOTE:
VOTE: bulge
I really didn't like this. There's a really clear town incentive to pressure players-even easy targets. Why is this scummy from Bulge?

? Timing on this really confuses me. You just took issue with two different reads/reactions of theirs in #303. This slot feels town because of the off the cuff/immediate response style but I'm having a hard time coming to terms with the reads: I did like that they immediately elaborated on 310 in 311. I also liked the response in 337

P-Edit: Good fucking lord the pace of this game is insane

Cut them some slack. It's incredibly hard to plan your entrance into the main thread when several slots you fear drew town and you didn't.

Especially when there's other posts onsite to make that are less fraught with danger at every turn.
The real reason they're afraid is because I'm holding them hostage to release those Scumsman PTs, I'm not giving up on this

Joke's on you, the games you modded I was at 7/8 years straight of playing, and my effort definitely peaked in 2017/early 2018.

In contrast...I've barely played the last two years!

Also, don't worry. I have no intention of losing this game. Like I said, interpreting my opening as very apathetic is a mistake. My attitude was "If I'm not going to be useful any other way..."

I don't think my 454 comes close to answering your (Bell's) questions without really committing myself to more than I feel in reality.

I do want to challenge the morph townread. Taking a strong scum presence is likely to be extremely important this game-you can't just sit on the backfoot. Ffery might legitimately be excited to get to play with me, but the motivational "Shine!" stuff feels a bit off to me. I definitely started off a bit more confident in Dystopia but the focused, obsessive play came much later. In Midscummer Night's Dream it never really happened at all, though it's hard to separate mine and nancy's effort because we didn't really sign. I can see why they probably liked my Dystopia play, but honestly that game is more vivid to me because I
singlehandedly lost my team the game
with my intensity.

Do they actually want me to shine or are they just saying it? I don't really know. I think the pressure for content is okay but perhaps overwrought.

I'm really confused by Joyed's read progression on me/Bulge. 493 views all of my pre-454 posts as fluff. 470 seems to recognize that pressuring someone for fluff might actually be a good thing. There's also really no reason to feel sympathy for someone being pressed for reads/reactions and I'm shocked I garnered that considering I did my best to be completely unsympathetic.

Bulge still being a scumlean despite the realization that their actions have strong town incentive is pretty ???

If anyone wants to make the morph read more concrete I'd appreciate it. I'm not familiar with notsci but I liked their reaction for the most part.

In post 448, Something_Smart wrote:I haven't played with Prism, discounting a game that was abandoned immediately after I replaced into it. I modded a game where they had a deadbeat scumteam and pulled off an extremely impressive scum win (in what was probably a somewhat townsided setup). I don't recall exactly why they got so townread but I think it had to do with faking really genuine-looking actions such as a self-vote. So that's probably a good sign since they seem the polar opposite of that here, but it was a long time ago.
Can you elaborate on why this game appeared to be polar opposite? This seems to suggest that either I wasn't looking very genuine, that the type of actions were fundamentally different, or that there's just something tonally/stylistically that's different. Selfvoting in three way ExLo with a player openly scumreading me is a lot more bold than just saying "Yeah I don't have reads vote me" knowing the chance of it going through is small.

P-Edit: What other stuff? It seems like you also recognize some differences from the demonstrated scumBulge game, though whether you think there are similarities seems ambiguous.

This was a game. I regret not sticking it through. 420 refusing to play for the vast majority of the game was really annoying to see; I replaced out to give a chance to someone who actually wanted to play, rather than force myself to go through motions with oppressive disinterest.

I don't really have any comments on other people's play here. Bulge had an extremely strong start, and was for me the one bright point of the game even though I didn't show that. It was unfortunate to see that the pacing kind of left him behind.
