Superbowl is getting talked about a lot. He's more jokey than I remember in our previous game together, I agree with Nero.

The superbowl9 read comes from more or less a very strong overwhelming feeling of gut-town, basically, in thinking overwhelmingly, "I don't see scum doing this, especially not newbscum". That sort of audacity just radiates town to me. I don't have any familiarity with superbowl9, but it's just the sort of thing that feels town. If I were to have a locktown read be wrong, it'd be this one, obviously, but I don't think it is wrong because I think that the call to locktown the slot is justified.

How can we solve this game?

To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand forums mafia. The posts are extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of scum hunting most of the scumtells will go over a typical players head. There's also Nero Cain's nihilistic outlook, which is deftly woven into his characterisation- his personal philosophy draws heavily from Mafia Scum wiki, for instance. The veteran players understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of this game, to realise that it's not just entertaining- they say something deep about LIFE. As a consequence people who dislike mafia truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldn't appreciate, for instance, the humor in Battle Mage's ever-present catchphrase "Claim daycop," which itself is a cryptic reference to Mafia scum culture. I'm smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as these genius posts unfold themselves on their computer screens. What fools.. how I pity them.

And yes, by the way, i DO have a Mafia Scum tattoo. And no, you cannot see it. It's for the ladies' eyes only- and even then they have to demonstrate that they're within 5 IQ points of my own (preferably lower) beforehand. Nothin personnel kid

Do you think scum would be more or less likely to hop/swap on wagons to push mislims?
I'd think with the bigger plist it'd be more obvious to spot since theres more townies that could bring attention to it, but they also have more distractions.

My theory would be that scum will be generally more comfortable doing plays that would otherwise seem risky, as it's really hard to spot stuff early on in large games. At least for me. So for example, they might vote more opportunistically than they usually would, since they can hide behind distractions and excuses about the thread being too difficult to parse, they could say they missed stuff, etc.

It makes me town for today. Deal with it. Mastina and I know how to read each other.

The last time I hydraed, someone advocated for killing me the entirety of D1 for more or less on the basis that I was a hydra and therefore bad -- more specifically, they didn't like how me and my partner sometimes had differing reads and apparently that warranted them vote-parking us. It was just a lazy and justifiableish stance for them, I guess. That game wasn't as large but this is already giving me similar vibes to that

this game specifically, though. Gamma's catchup does reminds me of how in all the other games i've played with him, he usually has a somewhat high fluff ratio on D1, at least in the first half. I'm not terribly moved by all the gameplay questions he does ask but that might be a result of the game size being hard to parse through

Oh they do, and since I kinda feel like uniting my townbloc and getting to the honing in/refining process by using them as sounding boards, I do need to give that more in-depth thorough readslist. Not today (I'm actually borderline-delirious right now, I dunno why but I feel lightheaded, kinda dizzy, in spite of being well-hydrated and well-rested and having stayed on top of taking vitamins and not being stomach-churningly hungry, so I'm not up to it in the moment), but I feel like I'm ~in the zone~, and just need some help from the towncore to perfect it.

I feel like to understand DDL's alignment I'm going to need to figure out how strong the reasoning for the Gamma wagon is first. My snap reaction was that I kind of liked DDL's opening but I guess I can see why the Gamma defense is scummy if there really is a good enough reason for Gamma to be scum. Whiteknighting as scum can be fun, i dont know about doing him going against the grain on Gamma as partners though. I think if the reasoning for someone being scum is good, but one player for whatever reason just seems to know they're town (and they are actually town), that can be scummy

Like again with Gamma he doesn't strike me as terribly different from when I played with him in mini 2132 and forest fire, he had a lot of fluff to start out with, his posts were kinda short, he came under a lot of pressure constantly for whatever reason even though he was town both times

It was really overblown but i dont think that makes him scum if that makes sense. I generally find (maybe irrational) emotion to be +town. There are some parts in Diamonds ISO that come off as exaggerated (1098) but parts like 1136 1092 451 read genuine enough to me

BM doesn’t seem to be genuinely sorting and is resorting to shade, they jumped on me trying to discredit my push by mixing in obvious joke points, and just want one of the most active slots dead and theirs is both the least town and the least entertaining of the most active players.
As for ignoring votes, can’t really engage Nero rn, and yours just seemed to be following A50, which while he called out a fair point, I think saying I should auto-die for it is kinda uncalled for. I had similar issues in AvP where I was town.

I think it's much more pro-town on D1 to find a slot that seems scummy, run them up, get their flip and then proceed from there on D2 with the added benefit of being able to start looking at VCA and being able to use NKA

If you have a dichotomy between a town wagon and a mafia wagon, and the town wagonee claims a good PR, I've seen a mafia die D1 in large theme without even getting bussed

I guess I can see the argument they are LHF and so we shouldn't worry about them today. Not coincidence though surely? I didnt have a view on the post itself, but the reaction afterwards wasn't great. The defence of "please don't think we used racial sensitivities as a tactic to survive longer as scum" felt a bit OTT if the slot was town. Likewise, the Mod endorsing the post isn't objectionable, but it does make the slot look worse that the Mod felt the need to independently endorse them. And the reaction to that endorsement also doesn't look great. Also, for a hydra slot, they've gone relatively unnoticed on Day 1, which might indicate they have some allies.

I think gamma is generally an intelligent player, I really struggle to see him looking at that post from me in good faith and thinking “yes, this is scum!mena bragging to thread for ??? (Purely ego?) reasons about how he can get my flip today”. I cannot see how gamma is seeing scum motivation there especially as when pressed he made it specifically about what I said AROUND my vote, not just about the vote itself.

And then when pressed on it (where, if he were town, I think he’d realise it’s not an alignment indicative thing for me to have done, maybe even slightly town indicative unless he thinks I’m exceptionally cheeky as scum) he doesn’t critically think about what it means for my alignment, he doubles down on I in a very weak way
