no I won't b/c I actully made this same comparison the other game.

my issue with Vecna is two fold. 27 is game advancing content. I could easily see a scum Vecna pooh-poohing my pooh-poohing of potential DS and BM wagons. Also its like, he's saying "page 2 is too early for content, lets stay in RVS!" and I think thats a scummy take.

Also in our last game together I got onto him for town reading me b/c I have felt like he always scumread me. Is it really outside the realm of possibility that a scum him goes "Nero expects me to scum read him so let me do just that to fool him."

I'm...I know my track record against Vecna is poor but I don't think "nero and vecna will get into it so they are both town!" is a great take.

I do trust kuribo would be upset about it as either alignment, so I am not questioning his claim on that. What I am saying though is I've only seen it done by scum, and I have never witnessed it being done by town.

back in 2016 (I think) I was modding a game on another site and I made a mistake in the flavour that suggested a slot that has just been replaced might be the Cop, and not even the outed Cop got pissed, but who did? Exactly! The MAFIA RB (albeit having expressed their anger in their PT).

So, I do think people are more likely to get overly upset when mistakes (or what they deem as such) are made against them. Have you ever seen a footballer getting upset the referee awarded them a penalty they didn't deserve??

But also your very writing this is tilting me because I don't like to win when it's not fair, whether the odds are for or against me. I don't like when people let replace outs etc. influence the game because it just feels like a cheap win. What's the point of playing the game if you're just going to cheat? Like you might not care but you can't see why other people have an issue with that??

We have added a rule to the Game Specific Rules to read:

Replacements, while sometimes necessary, also serve as an outside influence. As such, do not tell other players to replace out. Do not publicly threaten to replace out of a game. If you do need to replace out, do not publicly discuss your reasons or anything else, as you are no longer a player in the game. PM your game moderator if you are considering replacing out or have concerns and believe another player should be replaced out.

Replacements are a necessary but unfortunate part of mafia. But as time has gone on, we've seen more and more players using the threat of replacement as a way of manipulating the game state. In addition to being an outside influence, it creates a negative game atmosphere where players have to decide whether to try to placate someone threatening to replace out in order to keep the game intact or not.

Additionally, it is detrimental to the game's atmosphere to demand

others

replace out, particularly if it's not on the basis of activity but rather player expectations of how a player should play the game. If you have a problem with another player such that they need to replace out, bring it up with the game moderator privately.

To be clear, replacing out is still acceptable. But if you wish to replace out, talk to the game mod rather than threaten to do so within the game. As this is a new rule, expect enforcement to start with increasing awareness before moving to more severe punishments. But the rule is currently operative, so expect to be "called out" on the behavior going forward.
