Everyone hypo claims two targets to swap. Cop checks either target.

A couple things for this setup

One, I don't think it was ever played before. (correct me if im wrong) So we're in uncharted territory
Two, mafia will try to mess with cop results with their factional bus. Will most likely happen they think cop will check one of them. This means reduced cop effectiveness, that said, town should still aim to maximize cop's effectiveness
Three, town BD *should* try to protect the most pro-town voice

now that I think about it, hypoclaiming would actually be a kill deterrent to a player if enough people include one player as their target

imo the ideal scenario that we get out of hypoclaiming should be
1. force maf to choose sub-optimal kills, or risk killing a bussed target
this is the main reason hypoclaiming bus targets is good so mafia has to guess which one is the genuine bus targets
for it to work though, the hypo target A should be the one we want to protect, and hypo target B should be spread out
I mean sure mafia can try to out-WIFOM the hypo targets but that means the plan is already working by forcing them to choose a sub-optimal target


2. allow cop to get as many valid results as possible
so yes, cop should cop the nulls/hard-to-sorts to avoid getting tangled up with the busses

2/3. Scum has their own bus drive, that happens before Town's meaning that protective the most pro-town is semi-useless and we shouldn't ever tell the Cop who to check. Not even in a given poe, they can decide on their own.

If a setup proves to be breakable it'd be revoked from the list. In other words, all open setups available are unbreakable (or at least have not been proven to be yet). I suspect what you mean is "find a best strategy to maximize our chances to win" which is subject to everyone's PoV and playstyle. In some forums it is customary to massclaim on D1, as they believe THAT is the "best strategy" to play the game (from Town PoV). I happen to disagree. Would you vote me based on that disagreement? Would you vote someone who suggested a massclaim here because they're used to it there?

the point is less about finding an "optimal" strategy and follow it to the letter, but more about having that discussion as early as possible and get everyone on the same page so we can all collectively move on with the game
