I know for certain there is a reloaded die out there to mess with us because I gave it away with charity. I have multiple cards in my hand that could screw with the fight to a degree a loaded die won't fix, other people easily could too.

Any munchkins want to weigh in here and advise me and Mizzy what to do here? @Mizzy, I’m okay with a reasonable splitting of the treasure but only if it doesn’t make the combat futile for me. If the odds are still bad despite my loaded die, would I just be better off using it to escape?

If I flee, I could still get interfered with and just be killed anyway. I also have a dice redo that can only be used once but can redo multiple rolls. I don’t know if that changes things or increases the odds?

I can't say what Diamond or Charles will or won't do to mess with you if Mizzy helps. If you have no help there is no way for you to avoid the Horror unless you run away. You run away with a roll of a 5 or better on a D6. It's up to you if you want to accept Mizzy's offer and try and beat it or if you want to try to negotate with Mizzy to see if they are willing to lower their asking price or if you just don't want to bother with Mizzy and just try to run away.

Can we ask them? That could really help me with my decision.

I don’t really see what the difference is except mine us mutually beneficial, since we don’t even know what the treasures are yet.

My offer is the fairer one to both of us because you get to chose the remaining 2. I’m not opposed to discussing it because it’s possible your way benefits me more but rn, it would be stupid of me to compromise on that. It makes no sense to agree to this if it places me in a worse position, so it’s ultimately up to you if you’re willing to be fair or not.

I don’t dispute that, I’m obviously coming at this from a completely different perspective than you are and I would do the exact same thing if our positions were reversed because it’s the right thing to do, from either perspective.

I wouldn’t make this offer if I wouldn’t be willing to take the exact same position if things were reversed because I want a fair game and I don’t believe it’s worth playing otherwise.

See, I don’t gaf about who has bargaining power, what’s important to me is what decisions make the game most fun and playable for BOTH of us. It’s important that we both have good morale and that can’t happen if one of us feels taken advantage of.

Not necessarily, killing me is still advantageous. I meant what I said, if you need my help later and I am in the hypothetically stronger position, I would do the same because I don’t think it benefits me at all if I don’t feel I’m being fair to you and I think what I’ve proposed is best for team morale and good team moral helps us all individually.

Y'know what, sure I'll help. Your frustration sounds genuine and I'm kinda curious to see if fairness is game winning and all the meanness of a munchkin game is just cos of the marketing (and I tend to make my move too soon in these sorts of political games anyway).

For the record though, I made the sort of offer I'd have expected to have gotten and I am not convinced this is a good move on my part :/

No, your good faith response to me fills me with hope and I actually expected you not to agree to it but I will 100% honour my word and will help you, should the tables be turned.

I just wonder if it’s legal or not to get Charles and Diamond to pre-emptively state their intentions or not. I’m obviously not thrilled that this is only my first turn, first time playing this game ever and all it literally took is one godawful card to put me into this precarious position and even my escaping unharmed isn’t guaranteed, so unless we can literally count on both of them committing to letting me escape unharmed, I think going for broke is probably the best strategy.

Do you know if it’s possible for us to actually play as an alliance rather than as solo, so we in essence could work as a team and would that be optimal for both of us, because if so, I think I would really enjoy that but I have no idea if that’s even possible but it would definitely make the game more fun if it were - for me anyway.

:/ This game is really cutthroat isn’t it? Okay, then if Mizzy is onboard, I say we go for it and I meant and will 100% stick to everything I said in my last post. I actually think playing with integrity is it’s own reward, so it would be super awesome if Charles and Diamond agree with that. Diamond has already demonstrated amazing gamemanship by their generosity in giving out those cards, so I honestly do feel that approach makes the game more enjoyable for everyone playing.

And I will remember those who have demonstrated good will towards me and kept their word, so having me as a potential ally down the road is something both of them would be smart to consider, for both mine and Mizzy’s sakes.

Munchkin can be a bitch like that. It's designed to encourage people to screw each other over. More so when people are ahead but still, you can just hit bad luck.

We can't win as an alliance AFAIK but there is nothing to stop people playing that way right up to the final boss. My general experience has been that alliances lasting more than a fight or two are rare but I've not played Quest and I think the map mechanic encourages teaming up more.

Well, I think that as long as it benefits both of us, it will mutually strengthen our respective positions to do it for as long as that’s the case.

@Charles, I was asking because there’s no point to me not fighting if you’re going to try to kill me regardless, so your refusal to state your intentions, tells me that it’s 100% in my best interest to fight because you would state outright, if you planned to let me escape otherwise, so I take from that, that I’m probably a goner if I don’t fight.

You can play your loaded die any time during combat after you roll the die until the combat is over. Loaded Die doesn't take back your roll it allows you to choose what the result is, iirc.
