UB was me trying to avoid town getting loads of night actions all at once cos that was a problem with hey first draft of my previous design. An activated IC + IC backup does sound interesting instead but I'd be worried about the two ungated protectives just keeping the IC alive or being a required use of the strongman shot or something. Maybe the rolestopper would need to be indecisive?- Mizzytastic

I was going with that order with the UB because that was on the wiki. Is that something that gets mentioned in the role pm (generalised to hide what multiple kills there can be of course) or just answered if the player asks?
Pedit: again, I'm going off the wiki here and it was unclear. I guess it's a bit stronger for the scum that way, but fairer for them to know it's gone. Am I right in understanding that a ninja or strongman shot applies for all the relevant abilities that night?- Mizzytastic

Role cop (and watcher) would just get the commuter part of the sk cos sk is alignment. Same way a plain sk is vanilla. I guess there is a world where town role watcher sees the sk kill (which they know is a kill cos commuter don't target), scum have role copped the sk and put two and two together but I'm not sure that's worthy making the role cop a one shot over? I guess it also makes it harder for sk to claim a vig. Maybe informing the sk that claiming vig in some way is risky is enough - two players from cross alignments catching the sk out by combing results seems reasonable to me?
Macho would work that way, wiki says it's specifically doctors and bodyguards.- Mizzytastic

Mafia Large Normal 2XX | Etymologies
A game of hidden roles and social deduction.
Modded byMizzytastic. Backup modded bythe worst. Reviewed for normalcy and balance byFlavor LeafandIrcher
In this game I will be sharing entries from one of my favourite sites etymonline.com, an etymology dictionary. Sometimes I will be sharing words related to the game of mafia (though obviously not relevant for determining what is going on in the game), sometimes I will go down rabbit holes of related words, sometimes I'll highlight words I know with interesting etymologies or relations and sometimes I'll just get curious about a word and post whatever I find.
etymonline.com wrote:game (n.)
c. 1200, from Old Englishgamen"joy, fun; game, amusement," common Germanic (cognates: Old Frisiangame"joy, glee," Old Norsegaman"game, sport; pleasure, amusement," Old Saxongaman, Old High Germangaman"sport, merriment," Danishgamen, Swedishgamman"merriment"), said to be identical with Gothicgaman"participation, communion," from Proto-Germanic*ga- collective prefix +*mann"person," giving a sense of "people together."
The -enwas lost perhaps through being mistaken for a suffix. Meaning "contest for success or superiority played according to rules" is first attested c. 1200 (of athletic contests, chess, backgammon). Especially "the sport of hunting, fishing, hawking, or fowling" (c. 1300), thus "wild animals caught for sport" (c. 1300), which is thegameinfair game(see underfair(adj.)), alsogamey. Meaning "number of points required to win a game" is from 1830.Game planis 1941, from U.S. football;game showfirst attested 1961.

And been as you also seemed ameanable to this, the ability for the odd-nights version. Is odd-nights still ok? I still think I prefer it if it is an option to 2-shot. Maybe mix both and make it Nights 1,3,5 only?
If multiple suitable players die at the same time the target of the mafia will be the source of the new ability.
If this player gets the ability from the IC they may activate it again whenever they want, as activated IC doesn't have a X-shots limit, just an X-useful-shots limit.
If protectives target the bulletproof the order I am using to resolve is Rolestopper (prevents all active) -> Bulletproof (prevents 1 passive) -> Doctor (prevents 1 active)

In reference to the l-word I included the BLM part after seeing it in someone elses ruleset but I can understand why it is antagonising and will remove. I think I'd like to keep the rule been as it's only a few months since that change, it's not as prominent as it was in stickies etc. and it's not made it's way into the site rules.
The not claiming mafia rule is one I've just copied from other people, I have no qualms about if it stays or goes.
I knew I had the night action bit twice, it felt relevant to both parts of the rules and I wasn't sure where was best to remove it from if I did.
---
I didn't know that about the multiball win conditions, will change.
I hadn't thought about that "attempt to" phrasing and I like it but I'm concerned someone could look at my previous game and try and make an inference about the set up from it. Is that a problem?
Will make that change to the lazy roleblocker.
Ahh, I mentioned the resolution order in my initial setup pm as something I wasn't sure of, and figured it was up to me when it didn't get a reply. I'm happy to follow what is typical.- Mizzytastic

I also made the part about playing to win con in site rules less ambiguousMizzy wrote:In reference to the l-word I included the BLM part after seeing it in someone elses ruleset but I can understand why it is antagonising and will remove. Still waiting on:- Do I need a sample sk win con, or sample vanilla sk role pm?
- Is the rolestopper ok being odd nights, or should I go with 2 shot to be safe?
- I didn't use the attempt tolanguage for the bodyguard and ninja because I don't think those can be blocked, but I wanted to double check that is correct?
