The die roll is purple. There is a purple marker pointing east in the Guild Hall so the Floating Nose moves from the Guild Hall "off the board" into the Guard Room. There is a purple marker pointing west in the Guard Room but as per the rules a monster can't go back the same door he already used on the same monster move turn so he stays in the Guard Room. This ends the monster move phase.

If you want to fight a monster you can explore N but you cannot get help. There are cards that enhance monsters. You may not have gotten one yet and none has been played so maybe you didn't realize that. +5 to monster and +10 to monster are the most common monster enhancer cards. If another player has one and plays it on the monster it could effect your ability to win the combat. I can't say what Diamond or Charles will or won't do to mess with you if Mizzy helps. If you have no help there is no way for you to avoid the Horror unless you run away. You run away with a roll of a 5 or better on a D6. blame your death on someone and get even with him!
Dying On Purpose
Any time during your turn, you may flip all your red Health tokens
over to black. You are now dead. You might do this to draw new cards,

Roll 1d6:
1=Purple
2=Yellow
3=Orange

And this is what the color base's for the monster's look like:
Also the image shows the munchkin tokens that the players use to move.
So basically how it works is:
1) A player enters an unexplored room.
2) Player gets a DxM card for exploring
3) A monster is drawn from the monster deck.
4) That monsters standie is taken from the monster standie box.
5) You roll the color die for that monster. The color dice have no pips or numbers, they are just colors to represent the color of the monster.
6) You take the color base from the color die that you rolled and put it on the bottom of the monster.
7) You put the base and the monster on the board.

Color die - The color die is used for determing the monster base and monster move. The numbers on the color chart are just for determing the color, they have no basis on the monsters power.
