I see what you're trying to do with the nom but if you think from the perspective of a new user it will be very off, since "in the shadows" is not Hectic's mafia style

I think there might be something out there even better than mad hatter, but I doubt it's right around the corner.

It can actually be construed as a bit too dark i agree.

We should make a user called "What we do" then give the title of "in the shadows"

I'll see myself out.
I've only made one good post, and don't you dare accuse me of doing it again.

That’s pretty decent as a “Holy shit Hectic is everywhere” joke, but I’m not sure it’s title material.

I'm probably not gonna support any Hectic title that isn't at least tangentially related to Mario, tbh.

Duplighost could work, I suppose.

But Hectic's persona doesn't really have a lot to do with Mario.

His main definitely has a strong association with Mario, at least imo. Either way, that's just my two cents, so feel free to propose away. There's a reason I'm not the universal title arbiter. ;)

Okay hear me out...
Ready Player Two

It has the old school Mario/Luigi vibes Jingle wants and I think it speaks really nicely to all the alts they have in order to escape their player 1 meta. Plus it's a cool play on a movie title about an online video game which is fairly apt I think.

There are probably better arguments for it here but that's what I've got and I like it!

Why are we meddling with near perfection anyway? I know I’m obviously biased but how is “mad hatter” not fit in every way possible?

how about
Joker
?
- taken at face value, hectic is obviously a joker/jokester
- hectic is widely known to be unique and OP and the joker is a very unique and OP card in a deck of cards
- when you think of “joker,” you also think of The Joker, and that kinda fits given he is scary to play against
- maybe the theme of cards also fits his secret alting if i were being creative
- this is similar in feel to mad hatter which most people agree is already a good fit. the joker/jokester pun makes this one slightly better though imo because hectic is so closely associated with jokes
spirited away thanks for the good memories

anti-nom
all hectic titles

he has a title already, move on
Of all tyrannies,a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

It's okay to antinom titles because having an incumbent title raises the bar. This thread has been pretty quiet lately so there's not much to derail though.

but tbh I think Ready Player Two works? Maybe it's not perfect but iirc the original gag regarding mad hatter (stealing hats off other players) has kinda faded
