Have you played with jessie before, by any chance? i think it's specific but i dont think the reaction is odd given that we have spent a great deal of time establishing how strange those two's behaviour is and there isn't really a good explanation

if tgp is scum my working assumption is that the townblock that established early on was really just town because like, the people in it i'd say are fairly decent at showing they're town when they're town, and from there it was maybe just unfortunate that scum couldn't live up to that sort of thing. the fact that from what i know a lot of this game was focused around tgp + little wagons orbiting him probably bodes well for him flipping scum, yeah? if he doesn't it'll do good to re-evaluate blah blah, obvious stuff.

that being said, looking at the votes the people who were willing to pivot off of tgp were... infinity, pooky, isis, hopkirk. tweet unvoted outright and hasn't since which is a tiny bit ?. uh. i kinda think hopkirk looks fairly bad in the event that tgp is scum but i'm just sort of spitballing here before a flip, yeah. yeah!

We know all town are VT, a double day lynch implies shenanigans, you enjoy mech talk, what the odds of there being a lim conditional scum power? This is what I'm worried about here.

gypyx was HEAVILY towncased by another townie. On top of that I can understand that this is a difficult game to get into and when you fall behind like it can become burdensome. You don't want to let the game and the mod down and replace out so you keep saying "I'm going to come in! I'll catchup!" and honestly for a scum aligned player I can't see that as being good at all. Scum have to work a little harder for the win IMO and I believe they know that.

Gypyx isn't in my PoE currently. And for me was not and is not a viable option. Plus I'm not just going to sheep along with my 2 strongest townreads, that's boring honestly, and lazy.

so uh, going through the vcs, this is only vc where pooky actually has a vote on dunnstral — the only concession i'll make here is that the next one is the hammer-vc on tgp where we all had to converge on someone so i have like. some leeway in my heart there.

the issue i have with pooky saying that he pushed dunn and no one wanted dunn and stuff is that like... materially, his vote for most of d1 was on tgp. he was someone who was part of the wagon and consistently applying pressure that way, and it was only at eod that there was a shift where he moved to dunn.

like, 465 dunn and tgp are null; 604 dunn and tgp are null; 947 dunn is null and tgp is scum.

in 1300, pooky hard-cases tgp as scum (and yes, i will admit that he did this in a world where tgp/dunn was a possibility). you can say that this is pooky pushing for dunn to be elimmed but again, pooky was voting tgp the entire damn day. his pushes were around tgp, calling tgp scum, making posts like this. when he changed his vote to dunn? 1421, with a jokey reason (you called isis sweaty, but we can get your buddy tgp tomorrow!) in 1436 he rescinds his scumread of tgp like... out of nowhere (my assumption is that like, he's saying dunn is tmi'ing tgp as town or Something in 1427). and then... still shades tgp in 1481. and then back to like, finding reasons to flip tgp in 1501. like.

This is his 3rd post in the game and less than an hour after replacing in. He's trying to shove a couple slots who are quite absent from voting, I see nothing bad with this. Less then an hour in, I'm not going to expect much in the way of reads, but it seems he's taken the time to check the vote count provided by Jessie in #475. Closer look at that post shows Ydrasse and Jessie haven't voted or been voted so he's studied it to get an idea of the flow in the game at least at this point.
Add in he likes Jessies posts the implication is both Jessie and Ydrasse are town leans.

i think the entire concept of a d1 townbloc is flawed, although the relative naturalness of it makes me question it far less. gypyx and gloria look town, as do ydrasse and infinity. i'm really going back and forth on pooky, but settling in on a slight townlean on them. hopkirk is still town, and i'm much less confident in isis, so VOTE: dunnstral this slot has been fairly bad from the beginning and has not gotten better.

Skitter was in a lot of people’s PoE’s and was a major wagon for much of d1, it makes sense that skitter would be flipped. But jessie has a great point that scum didn’t actually know that they would be flipped. This means that they didn’t have a ton of incentive to bus, especially since they could make sure none of them got eliminated on d1. Scum could’ve predicted something happening which lead to more flips early, but it’s best to assume that scum tended not to bus on d1.

For the record, I’m not comfortable with gloria deciding the pairs here.

Ydra feels like she hasn't tried very much, her excitement for day start feels kind of faked? so do her semi-townslippy posts. I could be wrong about this.

This resonated a lot with me, but maybe I'm projecting my own analysis into it.

Since scum just lost most of their members and has a couple players left who need to get townread, trying to start strong in this phase fits the wincon a special way. Acting excited about dance phase without actually lolproposing or matching Ydrasse's style in certain ways is what made me agree with the guttake that it might be faked.

like, i can be excited that a mechanic that i enjoy is introduced and also actually try to play it right this time because like, it worked out in epilogue but it also made people unhappy — that and the fact that we're down to seven people means i can't really rush into anything

and i think that reflects in my irritation over the fact that you/pooky might've been dancing together (before i knew rescinding was a thing): i WANT to dance because i love pts, but realistically i know it's not the best if i /do/ dance if there's only two slots left and we have trq/gloria to take them
