Cybele is out of time, so Battle Mage replaces Cybele. BM can change his votes if he wants to. He, like everybody else, needs to confirm.

No, no and no to 6. It will screw up completely the game. Alliances would be the breaking strategy, and will delete the sense of the game. Seriously, no to 6.

Everybody has confirmed. Unless any new propositions come up (read the first post carefully), the game will start once everybody settles Proposition 6.

yes to 6

Proposition #7: If you land on a station you can go to another station for £100. £50 goes to the bank, one £25 goes to the owner of the first station, the other £25 to the other station owner.

Proposition #8: £10 is taken out of your salary (from passing Go) for every property, house and hotel.

what is the fricking point of all these retarded rules? We're trying to play monopoly, not a game that's completely fixed in favour of some people, and bound to confuse the rest.

Proposition 7 makes no sense, in game terms, and cannot be a valid rule.

I vote No to Proposition 8.

Can we actually play now? -.-

From now on, I have to approve propositions before I allow votes on them. No to 7 and 8. End of story. Bye-bye. See you later.

I will allow 24 hours for anything else serious.

I HAVE played several versions of Monopoly where you can move using the railroad tracks... haven't for 4-5 years but I have seen published/sold versions with that rule.

A lot of people, me included, like to play with a free parking jackpot and/or double salary for passing GO and those
aren't
original. The players of the U.S. version have decided on both of those (and got rid of auctions) for their game.

If you don't want to buy a property, anybody (including the player that gave it up) can bid on it to try to gain ownership of it. The lowest bid allowed is £1.

Auctions also happen if the bank (as opposed to another player) bankrupts somebody or more than one player wants more houses and/or hotels total than there are for sale. In the event of houses and hotels, the starting bid is equal to the building cost on the least expensive property the bidders want to put houses on.
The guy that decided on the official rules wrote:If a player elects to buy, he pays the Bank for that property and receives the Title Deed card showing ownership which he places face-up in front of him. If the player declines his option, the Banker must immediately offer this property for sale by auction and must sell it to the highest bidder, accepting money in payment, and give the buyer the proper Title Deed card as evidence of ownership. Any player, including the one who declined the option of buying at the printed price, may bid. Bidding may start at any price.
The guy that decided on the official rules wrote:When the Bank has no Houses to sell, players wishing to build must wait for some player to return or sell his Houses to the Bank before they can build. If there are a limited number of Houses and Hotels available, and two or more players wish to buy more than the Bank has, the Houses or Hotels must be sold by auction to the highest bidder.
The guy that decided on the official rules wrote:In case a player is unable to raise money enough to pay his taxes or penalties, even by selling his buildings and mortgaging his property, the Bank will take over all his assets and sell by auction to the highest bidder everything so taken except the buildings.

The players of the US version can do what the hell they like. Here in the UK, when we play a game, we play it.

Wait, you have a problem with players who want to play
the game they signed up for?
And those players are in the wrong for disagreeing with rule changes that would mutate the game completely? What would you think if you joined a 'chess' game, and the following rules popped up?

Yeah, and we eac player should start with a piece on every black square in the first 3 rows of their side!
Cool! I heard about this 1 rule where all the pieves have the same movement rate, 1 square forwards-diagonal, unless there is an enemy piece there, in which case they may move exactly 2 spaces in a straight line forwards-diagonal, and remove the 'jumped' piece from the board. Anyone interested?
Yeah, that sounds really cool! And I like to play that when a piece makes it all the way to the back row, you put another piece in top of it, and it gets the ability to move backwards

I get bored when people have to have the original settings. It's boring, and played way too many times, anyone who does that needs to live a little more.

Anyone who plays REAL Chess enough gets bored of it very quickly. You have to mix it up a little, add a little spice to the game. DUH!!11!!11!!!!shift1!!111!
