I think 22. f4 would have been a solid move if the

rule didn't exist, and I'd rather not get a big advantage just because you didn't know all the rules, so if you want we can back up and you can play a different move instead.

It's fine. I'm still getting to take advantage of the rule in a sense because part of the consideration in my playing a move like Be5 is knowing you can't just kick the bishop away with f4, so it doesn't bother me if you play something else.
