Is it possible we could have longer than 24 hrs? I’m finding that a bit stressful.

If every player in the game actively sends me a PM saying they're okay with a 48 hour turn timer, I'll switch it to 48 hours. If anyone says they're not OK, or if anyone doesn't send a PM one way or the other, it will remain at 24 hours.

I chose 24 hour turns for this game because of its length. With a five-player game, the game lasts for 60 turns total - 5 rounds of 12 turns each. The last turn of each round can be processed automatically (players will only have one card left, so there's no decision to make), but all the rest of the turns require player input - so 55 turns for purposes of game length. 55 turns taking 24 hours per turn = 55 days, or slightly under two months (assuming no extensions or nudges). Double the timer, double the length, and it gets closer to four months. But if everyone else is okay with this, I'll change it.

Note - any player can request an extension if they know they won't be able to make the 24 hour timer on a particular day.

To be honest, the 24 hr thing is extremely stressing me out. I came thisclose twice to being in prod range and I really don’t see why deciding which number I need to select is an easier decision than Ra when 75% of them were super easy.

Is it fair for me to have to possibly consider outing because I need longer? or at least a less strict timer. :/. If the majority of players are okay with not putting me in a position where I might not be able to play, is that really reasonable? At least make it 36. If the majority of the players are willing to be understanding, why does one player unwillingness to accommodate me take precedence?

Do I need to do a V/LA thing so I don’t get forced out of the game?

I don’t need it everytime but if the timer won’t be changed, at the very least make the consequences less severe. I really want to play this and I 100% could if the timer gets changed to 48. Please people.

My purpose behind activity rules is to keep the game moving, to keep the game's real-time length to a reasonable one, and to try to ensure that the game will be completed even if a player disappears. For this game specifically, I wanted to try to keep it around the two-month mark or less - hence, the 24 hour turn timer.

I understand that sometimes, life happens. Hence, I have an extension policy. I have a V/LA policy. I don't boot people immediately for missing a single deadline - and if they want to stay in the game despite missing deadlines, I don't boot them at all. That's what AutoPlay is for - and even that doesn't get invoked unless a player misses three deadlines - or goes over 72 hours. And if a player misses one or two deadlines by less than 24 hours, seven on-time turns in a row erases them from the record.

I think these are reasonable policies. I would not describe their consequences as severe.

I also think that not wanting to change policies during the game is reasonable, so long as those policies comply with site rules.

If you can think of any other accommodations I can make that don't involve increasing how long the game will take, I'm willing to listen.
