As the mod of this game and in the context solely of this game, if you find yourself unsure of what to address someone by pronoun wise for any reason, the two most appropriate courses of action are to A) respectfully ask them what pronoun they would prefer to be addressed by or B) refer to them by username. Yes, though it was complicated:

Klick had the power to make fakeclaims real and Pooky's fakeclaim was the ability to add Klick to the thread.

Also, Penguin/50's role was negative utility as Klick could change it to no longer be town aligned and instead want to drag the game out or they could have chosen one of the alternative modes (Neighborhood was arguably the easiest to win as as a pseudocult factional ability that had to recruit in public (something S_S actually called out as being in the game, although irt Korina)).

Klick was a traitor as having the role in the scum PT with the fakeclaim vendor was INCREDIBLY powerful (there was a late game functional vig).

N_M's cop was actually designed to help Klick find people to target more than as a real investigative, and to provide legitimacy to skitter's role if she trueclaimed.

Basically towns power was a vengeful, a 1-shot doc who had to activate in public, and a Jailkeeper who had to incentivize getting people to lie about their roles and thus risk being picked out as a PR.

In addition to the incredible amount of power should they actually coordinate into the scum pt and thus the need to make that less likely to happen/the traitor more likely to target town, I felt that giving them arguably the most interesting role and the most difficult role to play balanced out from a fun perspective to some degree. I agree that generally speaking this type of traitor blows chunks (Doubleblind), but I saw it as a necessary evil for game balance.

Kind of like how I despise cops, but will use them if I believe it increases the value of the overall setup.

Yes, that was the intention. This was roughly balanced as 2.3v10 setup, given that Klick was well below a full member of the scumteam and the negative aspects and positive aspects of both the 3rd party and Klick's role were intended to make it not an extra townie as it were. Town had very little in the way of actual power (Fark's role, while powerful, was unreliable at best for investigative purposes.)

There was definitely a lot of swing based on what happened with the traitor and the roles that ended up being made real, but I felt the disclaimer of bastardry made that a reasonable assumption.

I do think the scumteam suffered from being functionally the same scumteam as D&C and the demoralization from that, as well as the fact that town had basically perfect night actions D1 and Mena had incredibly accurate reads on rep in. I'm not really disappointed on the balance side of things this game, although I wish people had been a bit more open with their information. I definitely knew an outcome like this where the gimmick of the setup didn't really come into play was possible when I designed it though.
