yeah more scumsided setups would probably be a good thing as a whole

not sure about dynamic scoring tho, the only thing that should really matter is winning and giving points to certain playstyles might lead to weird perverse incentives like not bussing

solution: 2 types of payouts.

a special Winner payout that gives max points

and a loser's payout that gives partial points based on performance.

no one is going to play assuming they will lose. scum would most definitely matter based on how many day phases with eliminations they survive.
look im going to be honest, i don't think its really possible to create a 'fair' way of dynamically rewarding points. a simple 1 pt win and 0 pt loss is just simple and fair. of course the best case would be if we played more games but uhhh yeah about that...

im not saying it wouldn't be cool to have a system that basically scored u on how well u played outside of you winning or losing but i dont know if thats possible with a game like this

Ok i can agree that indeed, it does suck. But i suppose that that difference should be reflected in the game scores. I don't think anyone cared about placing somewhere other than first i.e. placing fifth or 12th probably doesnt matter to a team, and so i guess my only hesitation with your suggestion is if a team that won less than another team still won the event

But advancing ur wincon does get reflected in the surveys fwiw

but simultaneously, randing multiple scum pms pretty much means you can't win the event because town has an observed ~80% wr

the two levers we can really pull without doing dynamic scoring is adjusting the wr of the setups (scumsided setups) or make scum wins 4 times more valuable than town wins i think

its not like randing 4 town is a good way to win either tho, you'd have to win a lot of tiebreaks -theoretically

sekrit alts sounds like a cool concept in a team mafia setting for a single theme game but id imagine allowing sekrit alts for the entire event would be annoying for most because it undermines competitive integrity a bit if not everyone is sekrit alting and if everyone is sekrit alting i mean that's a bit of a headache
