Yeah, having the masseuse being new doesn't exactly make me think panic should be involved; it might just shave a few points off it. I'd also be inclined to aim left of 33.

I'm trying to think of it in terms of percentages. Like, grab a thousand people off the street. Heck, make it a thousand people at a university. How many of them would take a look at PhD-level math and not think it was confusing?
At least from an academic standpoint, "PhD level" is as tough as it gets? Isn't that the level where you can't just regurgitate stuff that's already known; you have to go find new truths for yourself? From one perspective, that could be seen as "trying to understand something that no one has demonstrated understanding of yet?"
That could hold true for just about any PhD-level subject, and she chose math specifically, which is something that a lot of people find confusing to start with.
So yeah, I'm leaning in the 90s. I don't know that I'd be willing to go to a 96, but I'm not writing it off yet either.

Interesting choice here.
I think most people (but
not
all people) for whom the situation could apply would find that to be very emotionally painful - with any physical pain being a direct side-effect of the emotional pain.
That being said, something like "your spouse deliberately stabbing you with a knife" would still hit the betrayal / emotional pain part while also adding an element of physical pain. So I wouldn't put this at the far end regardless.
Spouse + best friend = worse, but "messing around" as opposed to "cheating" = better; "cheating" would make it unambiguous that it's an act of betrayal, while "messing around" at least leaves the door open to the *possibility* that it isn't, depending on the people involved.

Open relationships are a thing. That being said, I'll concede that they're the exception, not the rule. I won't object to a guess of right if everyone else is leaning that way.

Hm. Now that I think of it - volatility would mean short-term to me. Not so much "how long it takes before dogecoin is worth anything" but "how long dogecoin will be worth something, if/when it is." If that's the right interpretation, then we need to be looking low, I think?

You'd think I'd know more about just what Boeing brings to the table as far as war goes ...
Still, I think they do contracts for the military. And even if they do other work besides, I'd say supplying war tools to the entities that actively wage war would put them on the right side of the line.

Disagree.
I'm getting together with a friend that I haven't seen since COVID started. That's happening tomorrow, and we're doing my favorite leisure activity. I'm not ranking that at a 96+. Throw in A/C in the middle of the record-breaking temperatures we had back in June and I still wouldn't rate it a 96+.
I'd save 96 for something more ... momentous. Like, "loved one goes into remission". That's the sort of thing I'd expect to see for a top-of-the-scale clue.
90 is the highest I can see this being, and I think even then I'm aiming too high.

There'd definitely be a non-zero amount of effort involved; how much effort is going to vary, I think? Some people are good at math; others aren't.
At least when I was going to school, 7th grade was right around the time when the concept of algebra would be introduced. I don't know if that's still the case nowadays; if it is, I'd expect beginner-level algebra problems.

Hm. From a moral perspective: easy left.
From a practical perspective: I don't consider flies all that tough to kill, as long as I've got a flyswatter and a bit of patience. And flies (and other insects) are about the only things that I do kill (outside of video games). I'd imagine that's true for most people that aren't hunters / farmers / etc.
I'd still go with left here, despite the evasion comment. The evasion comment adds maybe ... 10-15 points, but I'd put flies in the 10-15 point range to start with. What else can you kill with a flyswatter?

Oh, I'm the rep? Missed that.
Still thinking it's left, but if everyone else wants right, we'll do that. Will give Iconeum and lilith some more time to check in, then lock in a guess later this evening.

The only random factors I can think of that would show up in any sort of pool-like game would be environmental, or possibly having a hand spasm as you take a shot - but yeah, I agree a game like Chess would be ideal for a 96+.
