I know googling is against the rules but if the opposing team would possibly make an exception - especially since it seems to be mostly just Charles and me and neither of understand the clue?

As one of the past mods of the game... sorry. The "no Google" rule used not to be explicit, but I had never intended it to be allowed. I made the ban explicit after a few players used it and were unaware that doing so was getting "outside help" as I understood it. It's also something the current mod has addressed before. So consider this my vote against.

Looks like everything was sorted anyway, but yes exactly what Strangercoug said, this is something that's been addressed before and I stand by it.

I could be tempted however to do a 1 off game at some point where googling is not only allowed but encouraged.
I remember talking to someone a little while ago who told me of a group who played codenames by googling absolutely everything and getting the perfect clues and stuff and we said that it really sucks the human element out of the game. But that it would be quite an interesting game to try one time. So yeah after this round I'm gonna ask people what they think to having a silly game where googling is allowed

I had, yes - thinking "You could watch YouTUBE on a phone." But I figured it was a very weak connection compared to the others, and it increased the likelihood of hitting words like TELESCOPE (technology), STRING (tin-can phones connected by string), maybe GREEN (maybe iPhones were/could be Green? Wasn't sure - just now looked it up, and yup, they can be), and *very slight maybe* COOK (Tim Cook, who I thought was connected to Apple - and just now looked that up, yup, that's Apple's CEO).

COOK was the assassin, for the record, so even though "(associated in some way) with (company that makes phones)" is a ludicrously weak connection, I didn't want to encourage stretches.

A couple of things I wanna discuss before starting the next game:

1) How would people feel about having a 1-off game of googling allowed where spy's and guessers are allowed to google things and try to find the very perfect word!
-If I got enough people interested in it then I'd run it as Game 45 and I'd have spymasters who purposely sign up for it and not use the ones in queue for this round

2) There was talk of prodding rules and stuff, how would people feel on the following rule: Spymasters may prod their own players if they wish to do so, said prod must only be a message saying that it's a prod and nothing else
