Despite thinking I'd allow hydrae until very recently, I have capriciously decided secret /ins are more fun.

Don't /in if you don't think you'll want to play multiple games (replacements are a pain in Secret alt games). Don't /in if you have a history of breaking site rules. (I don't want the listmods taking away my toys.)
Deadlines?:
7 Day days, 48 hour guess phases, maximum 48 hour downtime between rounds.

Description:
This game will feature a series of rounds, each it's own game of Burdened by Secrecy. At the end of each game, the winning players will receive 1 point. When a player receives a 4th point, the series will end and all players winning the most recent game will win. This means that winning three games in a row and losing the fourth could result in a loss and losing four games in a row but winning the fifth could result in a win, but that winning individual games makes it more likely you will win the overall event.

Each player must signup via PM and choose an alias to persist across games. Signup posts in the queue will be ignored, but signups via PM will be shared with the listmod, so don't think this is a free opportunity to duck mod oversight.

For clarification, this game will not have dedicated Paragon signups.

When you sign up you can choose a phrase or name to be displayed. The Paragons in each round must try to match these names with the randomly assigned alts. For example, if I were to play the game I could choose the Alias Pyrite and could be assigned the Alt Reginald Hargreeves in round 1.

Also,

5/9 players have /inned and 4/5 have submitted an alias. Failure to submit an alias will result in me randomly choosing words out of the dictionary.

Nope

Description:
Any town player who dies (either by nightkill or elimination) will be able to choose a player in the game. They will then become a 'hydra' with that player and may continue posting, as well as gaining a hydra PT with that player. If a 'hydra' dies they must choose a single player for all hydra heads to join. If they choose a mafia player, their win condition will become the mafia wincondition. Low power game. Mafia players may continue posting in the mafia PT after they die, but may not post in the main thread. Hydrae share a vote, but post from their individual accounts, unless they decide they would like to make an actual hydra account to use in the game.

If anyone has a strong preference about flavor, I might be persuaded to adjust the randomization to give them that flavor. If multiple people request the same flavor I will not do so. Town and scum flavors were randomly assigned and that information will not be shared before the end of the game.

Actual game rules:

3. There is no majority elimination. Instead at the end of the day phase (4 days) or when a supermajority (70%) of players have voted to end the day, the two players with the most votes will be selected to Fight. During this fight phase, all players may anonymously submit votes via PM and the player with the most votes will die.

4. All vote ties will be resolved such that the player who was most recently highest among the ties is chosen. Further tiebreakers, if somehow necessary, will be random.

5. The game thread WILL NOT LOCK during night phases. It will lock during fight phases.

Balance is not guaranteed, but this is what the reviewers said:

Individually per game. The games have no influence on each other past the fact that voting in one requires voting in all of the games you are alive in and they occur in the same thread.

That's why it's a lover setup, because if you think X is obvtown in Game A and obvscum in Game B you can vote X's lover in Game B.

I suppose you could say that winning in 2/3 games makes you win harder and winning 3/3 makes you win hardest, but really the goal is to try your best in every game despite the utter insanity of developing reads in multiple concurrent games with the same player lists and winning 1/3 is still impressive enough.

When I announce the game end here, I will spoiler the winner for each game separately.

Also, I mentioned this in the discord announcement, but
I'm not taking pre-ins this time
due to the not wanting to make a mod PT before I know this will fill. I'm also not planning on enforcing blacklists unless you have a really compelling reason like "Isis is currently standing in my front yard with a butcher's knife and I'm scared she'll kill me if I'm in a game with her".

Jester. This time with short Deadlines, Sticky Unlimited Voting and the same amount of Leslie Nielson Flavor. Deadlines will reduce the number of votes required to go to clown college by 1. Players may vote for any number of other players, but may only vote a slot once. Players may not unvote until a hammer is reached, at which point all votes will be blanked. Will feature my new pet mechanic: persistent scumchat. (Scum may continue to post in the scum thread after being sent to Clown College.)

Description:
For the uninitiated, BoP mafia is an experiment from a few years back that worked pretty well. 3 Town and 2 Scum duking it out with a Safety net beneath the town team. It has a perfectly even EV for town and scum. So... Let's throw a wrench in those works.

This setup will be identical to BoP mafia in all regards except three:

All town and scum players will be given a secret alt to post from.
Once per game BEFORE the elimination the Paragons may choose to guess the identity of every player in the thread. If they are completely accurate they will win exclusively (Both town and scum will lose). This guess will take place in the Paragon thread and thus will not have a visible effect unless it is successful.
Paragons will only be able to win via guessing the scumteam or the alt identities. They will not win after a single scum elimination.

Have you ever thought that as a spectator you could call the scum team or alt accounts of everyone in the game? Put your money where your mouth is and show it.

Signups will take place as normal for a non secret alt game. When signing up, please specify Paragon or Nonparagon. The game will be full when there are five nonparagons and at least one paragon signed up. If there are open paragon slots, you may PM me to join the game as a paragon after the commencement of the game. If a non paragon slot would be replaced, instead they will be the elimination. Please do not join unless you think you can see this game through to completion, although that shouldn't take too long.

Paragons will not be using mod provided secret alts, as there is no reason for a paragon to have to guess their own identity. If you would like to be a paragon using a secret alt of your own, I have no issues with that.

Procedurally bastard is things like mod choosing alignments for a balanced game or mod resolving actions based on who is currently winning. Less of an issue with open setups though.

As far as I know, you are the only person to be interested in paragon-ing. I'll wait on Cakez for confirmation, but that should be the requisite 6 to start the game.

Probably not the place for a drawn out explanation, but semi open actually refers to setups like matrix 6 or C9++ or Great Idea where there are multiple possible setups, but all of those possibilities are made explicit along with a way to choose which setup is being run. What you’re suggesting is a closed with a public design element.
