the camera in this game hates you. It actively hates you. It exists to make your life worse. Mario64, Banjo-Kazooie, zelda gex conquer whatever had free camera.

not tank controls exactly, but it does have that tank controls-eqsue feature where you keep going the same direction in between camera changes as long as you don't move the stick. Which is a life saver actually, I remember playing some game that didn't have it and it was awful.
It does load worse bc at least in re the load delays are *predictable*. This game will seemingly randomly postpone your dodges

i love 'em too, unfortunately i'm also not great at video games, which makes my favorite eras a Challenge.

ngl those cards are kinda sick, wish one could get physical versions somehow

dmc3 and dmc5 are good places to start. I think the original 3's easy is equivalent to japanese normal, which is fixed in the Special Edition. A lot of people chose normal (hard) when it first came out which gave it a reputation for being brutal lol, but I beat that one without tooooo much trouble.

dmc5 is just fun and plays like a (good) modern game.

got it stuck on some pillars but it still has a long range attack untethered to it because this game takes its job of making your life difficult seriously.

this kind of game is too unforgiving to structure a level like that.
