It gets weird when some people die for only 1 game.

This is partially correct. For the moment, since all games have the same list of living players, the D1 elimination will die in all games. On subsequent days, votes will only count towards games the person being voted for is alive in and players will not be able to vote in games they are not alive in, and thus it is possible that a hammer will happen in one game but not the others. This is because I hate myself and wanted this game to be as difficult to mod as possible.

Amy Dunne replaces Amy Dunne. I know, most of you were here for Amy's presence but we will soldier on bravely in spite of these horrible circumstances. (Note, replacing into your own slot is generally not acceptable, but there was a post in the queue about me not being able to start the game before last Friday that got misinterpreted and The Almighty Bird Lord of the Seas and Micros gave me permission to bend the rules this time since it was a confirmation replacement.)

What I understand from this is that when someone is eliminated on D1, they die in ALL 3 games. But their lover is not killed.

And on following dayphases, they choose which game they die in - cannot post in their lover PT at that point - and their lover remains alive?

I also assume that on dayphases following D1, all 3 games must have a hammer before flips will occur. Is this correct, Mod?

Take, for example, Jeff. Jeff is a lover with Susan in Game A, Karl in Game B, and Imhotep in Game C.

If Jeff is the first elimination, Susan dies in Game A, Karl Dies in Game B, and Imhotep dies in Game C.

At this point, Jeff may not post in any lover PTs that they have access to or the main thread, but may continue to post in any Scum PTs. None of the others may post in Lover PTs they have with Jeff, but may continue to post in the main thread any other PTs they have access to, even if those PTs are in games that they were lovers with Jeff in.

At this point, if Susan and Karl vote for Imhotep, Imhotep will have one vote on them in Game A (because Susan is dead), one vote on them in Game B (because Karl is dead), and 0 votes on them in Game C (because they're dead).

If Game A has a hammer and Game B does not, (possibly because Karl is dead), the elimination for Game A will immediately be processed.

Basically, internally to the games they are just the vanilla boring setup and all of the complications arise from the inability to vote for a player in just one game so long as they're alive in any other game.

The latter. If you were to vote Amy and then Dunn for example, you would be voting Amy in game B and Dunn in games A and C.

Likewise, hammer checks happen after every vote, not just after every post, so a vote in a post that later has another vote can in fact be a hammer vote.

And so, the conclusion was reached. Dunnstral, convinced his one true love (after those other two died) had betrayed the town, couldn't bear the guilt and shame any more. He made it quick, but CheekyTeeky's last words reached him all the same. "Et tu, Dunnstral?"

Filled with shame, Dunn ran into the woods where he was probably eaten by a bear or a mongoose or a particularly vicious puppy. As he fled the city filled with so much loss and grief, the wind carried maniacal cackling to him. Or maybe it was just a trick of the mind. Who can tell for sure?

Also, I actually forgot the you can’t out scumbuddies rule, so that was not a scum tactic. So that wasn’t a good reason to sr me here.

Not actually a rule in my rule set. If, somehow, you think that outing your scum buddies will win you the game (hidden traitor in a closed, mayhaps) you are allowed to do so. This also opens the door for outing not your teammates as your teammates as a wifom move.

Agreed. I think the interplay between the setup (no nk, people already disincentivized from liming lovers) made this kind of drag too much. If I do the whole triplicate thing again it’ll be with a very different setup and the deadlines will matter.

Normally I give edit privileges to deal with redactions. That would be a lot of edit priveledges. I won’t be publishing pts until Sunday, so if you absolutely need a redaction pm me before then. I’d prefer this was used sparingly, as, like I said, there are a bunch of pts.

Yeah deadlines are important but I think the main change you should have made and the reason I was confident I was done for once red/Taly flipped was that no one was tss. So I didn’t think I had a chance at winning because of that. I thought I was mech confiscum for that reason.

This was entirely random chance. All three setups were randomized entirely independently, for a given value of random. (Random.org uses a timestamp algorithm instead of background radiation sampling for their randomization, so theoretically you could have worked out when I was likely to have randomized the setup, reverse engineered the algorithm, run all of the results in the relevant time frame, and made a distribution of the results to get a slightly better than average chance at eliminating scum. Normal humans would classify this as something only crazy people would do.)

It's actually rather odd how little overlap the three setups had. There was only one repeat lover PT, (Meg and N_M were lovers in two games) and CT/Queen was the only pair that was lovers in one game and scum together in another. Dunn was the only player whose elimination would flip absolutely no scum, which I think makes him the towniest. Amy, OTOH, would have flipped three scum on D1 and thus was objectively the scummiest.

I fully expected at least one player to end up being scum twice. The odds of no repeat scum are 6/8*5/7*4/8*3/7, which ends up being a little more than 11%. Not completely unreasonable, but very unlikely.

I think I like the triplicate design, and I'm probably going to run it again with a different setup and/or setups. I feel like this setup vastly disadvantaged the two games where scum flipped D1 and ended up making a lethargic and uninteresting gamestate for some people. I'm not sure whether I would implement another open (EHABONAR or Exploder, perhaps?) or a single closed setup or a series of similar but distinct closed setups yet, and would appreciate feedback on what would be most fun. I definitely don't think lovers or "everybody has a pt" style setups fit well with the mechanic though.
