I think you misread, Nancy. He said the titling reasons seem off, nothing about him or his stances being tilting

People might be unaware of this but Gamma has gone out on a major limb for me awhile ago when I was being unfairly anonymously blacklisted from a few games, so definitely not “tilting”. He didn’t have to do that for me but he did it anyway, so I hope you two can work out your differences and hopefully clear up any misunderstandings you might have.

I don’t understand then because my reasoning has zilch to do with tilting. He takes principled stances which I haven’t necessarily always like or agreed with but it’s a longstanding characteristic of his posting.

That's not what Ari is saying. I know you have some degree of dyslexia so I completely understand the mistake.

What Nero said is titling, as in the process of receiving a title.

What I think you're reading is tilting, as in being put off center.

Nero isn't making aspersions about Gamma's character here, just saying that the reasoning on these particular titles seems off to him.
This is a Parachute.

nom Cabd for The Archivist

Do I need to explain further? Cabd has spearheaded the QT archival project and preserved a significant part of site history.

Saving Quicktopic is a title-worthy endeavor, but I feel like there's a lot more to Cabd's contributions to the site since he joined. He's done a lot of work to help renew/update the newbie game experience, for instance. His skills and tools were the absolute right tool for the job of rescuing MS's vast number of QT threads from the jaws of death, though.

His original title was given to commemorate his extremely meta-heavy playstyle in his first few years on site. He literally read every ongoing game, and had a binder(s) of observations about player specific scum/town markers. I'm not sure, but I think he originated the phrase "burn the tell".

Archivist is kind of dry, too? I'm thinking back to Tierce's title "cache me if you can", that commemorated what she was able to restore from the horrors of the Tigers during the 2012(?) site crash.

Anyway, a fresh title is probably in order, and I like the direction of Archivist, but maybe we can come up with something a little punchier?

I was thinking the same, actually! But haven't hit on something good yet. Alexandrian Preservationist? Saving from the Flames. They're very specific to the QT project. :/

Was also thinking about something knowledge entropy related, but coming up empty so far.

I feel like a new title shouldn't be just about the quicktopic project, though. His site history goes back to 2013 and he has a distinctive playstyle.

antinom? I suspect he'll want to just keep his original title and that one is more about HIM rather than what he's DONE. I will say that the Indiana Jones reference is funny and if he just rather have that he can so we'll see what he picks.
Of all tyrannies,a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

Unless you've talked to Cabd directly, what you think he'll choose isn't what he will choose. Besides, we've had plenty of other titles for one-off events. The rest of your stuff if fie, but "I think he'll do this" doesn't count as a point.

For the sake of letting Cabd choose.

Nom Cabd for Quicktopic Sniper

As well as the one off, this captures one of Cabd's strongest attributes as a player, especially his scum game.

He can brutally abuse neighborhoods like nobody's business. I can provide receipts going all the way back to 2013 for those who have never had the experience of being neighbors with him.
