Can someone go over why purple seems to be a consensus townread, I've seen a lot of "purple is town" but I haven't seen why. I have seen a lot of effort but that isn't completely AI.

As far as I can tell Triangle this game has made basically one point which is a really odd roundabout TMI accusation on penta.

Still don't really understand Penta's 180 on me, but others seem to believe the logic holds and its right so I guess it can be left be.

I find people who have more enthusiasm for mech rather than sorting to be somewhat scummier.

I didn't like: "Best case scenario however is that today we find at least one scum that is a Shape, make them go solo, and then vote them out to get rid of scum and the Delayer at the same time."

because it kind of states the obvious but I don't see him actually putting the effort in to sort his fellow shapes and come up with an ideal candidate for this.

I am super easily swayed by AtE too. Almost, every time, I end up misreading people due to AtE. It's usually for my reads on players who didn't do AtE. I once unvoted scum after calling them out for AtE, changing my mind, when they did AtE again. I kind of wonder why almost nobody does LAMISS (Look At Me I'm So Scummy).

I... kind of hate a lot of these reads. I disagree with the Purple/Green/me/maybe (??) Pentagon (this one is a lot less formed in my head currently but it's how I've felt reading today) reads right now and the disparity of where I'm placing people right now is uh, Concerning.

If I had a pick/wanted to force through one for myself I don't think I'd want to pair with you right now, sorry.

Town ping on Circle seems like TMI when all they did at that point was post a song and offer mech talk, yet you've shaded me for mech talk.

Read on Purple feels very quick and one-dimensional, and you just stick to this read going forward no matter what Purple says or does afterwards.

I liked Circle's posting at the beginning and it wasn't all mech-talk, just felt genuine to me.

He felt eager to get started and his thoughts weren't trivial by any stretch.

As for purple, I have thought a lot about his posting and I don't think it's fair to say my read of him is one dimensional, I express quite some doubt in my read there and he's not someone I'd want to push to eliminate on Day 1.

The thing about mech talk is, it helps as a crutch to actual scum hunting - however if someone has only mech talk in their ISO and not much scumhunting, it feels very ++scum.

This seems more like you're trying to justify your scum read rather than just make an honest read on Purple.

That is my honest opinion of Purple's read list.

many of the townreads simply state "____ is a Townread, I liked ___"

It felt copied over and over and many of the townreads are because Purple liked the reaction to his entrance which was usually cited as negative.

That was confusing to me unless he intentionally decided his entrance was scummy, but then why would he think people shading him are town?

It'd make more sense to me if he thought some of the scumreads on him were of convenience/faked.

I think there is an implication that the unpaired shape is going to get offed so that would make sense as a reason to be upset as scum that no one is engaging with you.

I do see your point that this also happens to townies as well - I just think the unique mechanics of the dance make it as likely if not more likely to come from scum.

We are halfway to finishing out pairings so there's a lot of pressure for mafia if they are still unpaired imo.

Star's appeal for being left out came early on, which was why I questioned it.

My... I guess 'switch' but really was just dishearten..ment if that is word, came after I posted some thoughts and the only engagement I received on them was from the person I quoted within that post, and it's a bit like... I'm being tossed into a POE because I haven't impressed which, okay, I haven't posted a lot nor do I have the time/energy. But then when I try to give something it's glossed over for a page or two and people don't seem to be actually thinking about my slot. It makes an unpleasant game and makes me not want to try which yes, it is early, but something like that is just... yeah. It didn't feel like people wanted to talk to me when I was already in a bad mood.

It's just harder for people to engage with a giant wall post than smaller posts in general.

My mind kind of tends to just press "skip" when I see something long.

I think Penta is trying more to work with Triangle and get them to post/interact normally than to discredit them.

I have trouble believing it's artificial from Green!scum because he pushed at you ~12m after replace in.

IMO that's far too short a time for someone to rep in, see they are scum, then scan the thread for things to attack with.

The belief that you are mafia because of that post should probably have been formed prior to replacing in, making it a belief Green had prior to receiving his role pm....

I guess it's possible he's a very daring scumbag who has no hesitation about getting into it aggressively right off the bat but I don't often see that.

2. If me and heart are s/s, why would I ever hop off when they still have a good chance of being eliminated today? It would be objectively better to stay on to try and gain towncred. Instead they try to discredit my concerns about their slot because "oh they are just jumping off their bus of my other scumread" It's very obviously not being aware of the gamestate because they aren't interested in actually sorting.

But why would Star's delay preference matter in terms of who we want to elim? If star's preferred suspect is also the consensus elim - it'd make more sense to use elimination rather than delay on them.

If it is not, then it wouldn't be an elimination preference.

Either way I don't see why we would ever reconsider eliminating a player simply because Star prefers to delay that player instead.

Since being unpaired doesn't mean automatic death in this game, I can volunteer to be the lone shape. In this scenario, I'll just keep the Delay holstered so it won't be an issue going forward. I'd prefer to be paired of course, but I think this is the easiest way to deal with this situation and make it a non-issue.
