In fact, scum specifically targeting for the cop is better than scum targeting for other prs/the cop clear, because theoretically the cop can still lose a 1v1. Also, hypoclaiming introduces topics of conversation like “why would you target echant, everybody knows echant is town. Well, except enchant. They don’t even know who echant is.”

Cop should always act night one, so after N1 they’re a questionable existence named townie: otherwise known as not very useful. If everybody goes “if I were the cop I would have gotten result x on echant” we’re trading the inability for scum to suppress the result by luckykilling the cop (or a misvig on the cop) for an added chance of the scum working out who the cop is. But after night one is over, scum killing the cop is a pretty low priority for scum, so them working out who the cop is really doesn’t matter all that much. Also, it helps the vig to not shoot a potential cop clear if we have both, although that is less of an issue and we can talk about who vig should shoot if there are two kills tonight.

Here's what I think will happen: EITHER.. Cop will target Scum and Vig will shoot them on N1, OR Cop will target Town.. the same TOWN the Vig is going to hit on N1. MARK MY WORDS AS ..

I didn't say it "sound towny". I said it's "not scummy". It's totally NAI. Scum do know what they picked for us, and if they didn't pick Cop in the first place we are simply deceiving each other with an additional chance of scum manipulating us.

Let's say you thought I was the Cop. I claim a guilty on X or a clear on Y. You'd go for X if I stated a guilty there and they will probably flip green. Now you either deduce I am not the Cop but still TR me (when in fact I am Scum), or you start suspecting me (when I'm actually Town). If it's a clear you're going to assume that Y is unlimmable for the next 2 days. SCUM will know though that there is NO COP to begin with and can use this to their advantage.

OR.. Scum did give us a Cop. They will know 4-5 slots are not it, and these can be pushed for the lim because it's easier to mislim them. Scum won't shoot the Cop on the very next night so as not to confirm their result. After all; it's the one and only result they can get. This still keeps us divided and guessing who the real cop is, if any at all.

Personally I would prefer for the Cop -if existent- to just keep quiet on D2 and play as a VT, and we can probably guess who they checked and what result they got if they flipped on N2, OR they explicitly claim on D2 so as to eliminate any confusion.

I could go on, but the main point is Toog spoke his mind and I know that's what he thinks about hypoclaiming anyway. It is thus NAI for him to state what he thinks of the idea the way he did.

I'm dumb at mechanics. Explain the logic here for me more.

Cop should always act night one, so after N1 they’re a questionable existence named townie: otherwise known as not very useful. If everybody goes “if I were the cop I would have gotten result x on echant” we’re trading the inability for scum to suppress the result by luckykilling the cop (or a misvig on the cop) for an added chance of the scum working out who the cop is. But after night one is over, scum killing the cop is a pretty low priority for scum, so them working out who the cop is really doesn’t matter all that much. Also, it helps the vig to not shoot a potential cop clear if we have both, although that is less of an issue and we can talk about who vig should shoot if there are two kills tonight.

Here's what I think will happen: EITHER.. Cop will target Scum and Vig will shoot them on N1, OR Cop will target Town.. the same TOWN the Vig is going to hit on N1. MARK MY WORDS AS ..
