so, since it's also a normal setup, I thought maybe we could add some extra spice and kill two rabbits with one stone or something if enough people show interest

I was thinking of a fun mini-game we could play, something like...a

gambling "system"

The general idea would be that the people willing to join this "gambling club" would each receive 2 "voting chips", which they could bet

for

or

against

certain

wagon

flipping scum.

There's quite a bit of additional rules and restrictions to ensure it doesn't disturb the game too much later on or isn't very exploitable, but basically if you won the bet, and there was someone betting against you, you take the "voting chips" the loser gambled with. You can't take "voting chips" from

multiple

people in a single bet as well. You always take the "voting chips" of the highest or earliest bidder. (although I could make some changes to this rule if people requested although the "mini-game" would get more complex).

If you've "voting chips" from someone in a given day, you can spend one of them a day to force that person to vote together with you. If the person refuses to comply with this rule, everyone inside the "gambling club" would vote that given person.

However, all those rules would be

"disabled"

in MyLo or LyLo (is there any other way to say this without it being weird?). Since we don't know how many scum there is to calculate when MyLo or LyLo will be with certainty, we will default it to 3-man scum team until proven otherwise.

Oh, of course betting your chips is always optional every day. It's not mandatory.

So even if you're part of the gambling club you wouldn't need to gamble at all, your only obligation would be to vote anyone that breaks the rules, which would be a scummy thing to do anyway when you should have understood the risk you were taking on gambling initially.

What you may be talking about is a micro game where I was scum and said I had a

"plan"

that I

couldn't tell

at that moment, and people had to "trust me".

But there's two important notes about it norwe:

1) There's literally no relation to a "secret plan" and what I'm proposing right now. I'm literally telling you all details and there's no night actions or anything involved. It's just a little "system"/"mini-game" we could do to spice up the game. Town is never worse off when you create more and different ways to get reactions out of people like with this "club".

2) Trusting me, even if I was scum then, was the "correct" play because my plan was actually optimal to town, my objective there was from the start to make everyone suspicious of me and refuse to go along with my plan, so that I could look better in the last elimination day when I would finally reveal my "plan" (which was truly optimal). People would then think "oh we should have trusted shirou" and think positively of me for having a pro-town plan, even when I didn't execute it.

Basically Norwe...there's no real correlation between those two cases. Knowing that now, does it change your mind?

Town motivation for doing it...? to be honest town motivation is a second thought to me at the moment, I just thought it would be a fun thing to do and also since the days are so shorter I thought it wouldn't be a bad way to give more power to people that end up finding the scum here. But there's certainly a lot to gain here for town if you stop to think about it.

Scum hunting is basically finding behaviors that scum are likely to do, we normally do this by the voting system in the game, but if we create

another

system on top of the normal voting system, wouldn't there be a entire new set of content/reactions/behavior to analyze for each player?

Even whether people accept or not to join this "gambling club" is a new kind of reaction we're gonna get from everyone. Would scum like to be regulated by additional rules? would scum like for there to be an additional way to test people confidence in their scum or town reads?

Without votes it's almost impossible to "scum hunt", that's why to start the game rapidly we do "RVS". The voting system is basically a tool for town to both kill and sniff out the scum team.

Do you really think adding a new system for even more stakes in the votes is a bad idea for town? That kinda doesn't make sense to me Norwe.

but yeah you're right, I was thinking about it even before receiving my role pm as soon as I saw there was 7 days as deadline rather than 14. I planned (and still kinda plan to later on?) to play this slower so I kinda thought this was be a good idea to say (even if I knew almost no one would bother entertaining it) regardless of my alignment, although I do genuinely think it's mostly pro-town/an auxiliary way to scum hunt. The idea came from the fact I've been thinking about a setup where the players need to gacha/gamble as well...that sounds fun to watch...

If I lose a "bet" I'm forced to sheep another person in the following day, and it's a good thing because I would probably have the wrong reads/mindset about the game.

If I win a "bet" I get an extra vote for pressure rather than needing to lose my mind gathering enough votes to eliminate my confident scum reads (if I get any I guess).

You know, arguing is a pain in the ass in this game sometimes. Especially since we're so short on time, isn't it better to just let people that had a good read in the previous day lead, and the people that had a bad read in the previous day sheep?

So it's mostly fun idea for me, it's also genuinely pro-town, but it's also a very good way the effort necessary for eliminations in this game which is what I like the most about it perhaps in a 7-day deadline game where I don't want to effort too much.

Although I'm also kinda confident we could get at least one or two good town reads out of the "bets" if everyone/most people were to join the club...there's all sorts of bonuses mhm...

Did you guys really not realize that your average mafia player would never likely lose gambles of the "reactive" kind therefore anyone (except me that proposed the system in the first place) that lost it was more likely town than not especially considering the circumstances about it?

(by reactive I mean, a "counter" bet to someone "betting that X flips Y". If everyone treated it seriously mafia probably wouldn't want to lose stuff like that intentionally and have their voting right taken away, which would be a really easy way to town hunt or at least to add more evidence that someone is town)

We could also always keep baiting people that are confident in their scum reads to "bet" on it or tone down on the "confidence" they are displaying, which would either make scum need to sheep town after a miselimination, or make them scared of leading a wagon which would also be another way of town hunting people and having less people on our PoE.

I genuinely believe it would be such an easy peasy like lemons squeeze way of getting at least 1 to 3 good reads in the playerlist, which is a lot mind you. I don't know many scum players that would likely try to lose on stuff like that just for the WIFOM.

Shirous proposal sounds like those overengineered German guns in WW2 that look super advanced and tactical on paper, but in reality jam easily in cold weather and are unrealiable. While i'm proposing we use the Russian submachine guns from WW2 that never jams and were so reliable anyone could use it, and some Germans even preferred it to their own guns.

2) Next she began to say Norwe was likely scum/scummy for it, and also began now to say I'm scummy for pushing her. Basically she's as reactive as you can get.

3) So reactive in fact that she stays silent for pages until we mention her, and then she magically appears 16 minutes later to began defending herself and shade Norwe.

4) She says she's upset that Norwe is voting her for a "meme that happens often to her", and when I ask about games where that "often" happened to her, the best she can bring out is someone doubting her claims as a

I am unconvinced by this case.

The post that she is referring to was from the second page of the game, and there was a recent vote count shortly before that post where she had zero votes onto her. If she was indeed mafia aligned, then she either missed both of those signs, or there is likely to be an outside influence that fueled the emotional outburst. Either way, for somebody that outwardly displayed their emotions like Andante, I'm not inclined to believe that the meltdown was directly caused by being a member of the mafia rather than simply misreading the situation. Part of your case being that she was paying attention to the thread in the meantime makes it even less likely that this is the case, or perhaps something in her real life is causing this in some way. Either way, I'm not seeing it as indicative of either alignment and actually find it a little disturbing that it's gaining this many votes so fast.

It's not impossible that she's really upset and frustrated in real-life for some reason and that leaked out in the way she phrased some of her posts, but it's not only the frustration, it's how she interpreted some of the posts in the game.

As far as I can see from her past games, Andante is a remarkably cheerful player but more importantly than whether she's cheerful or not which can be influenced by IRL mood, she's someone that

can take and recognize a joke

.

I don't buy in any shape, form or sound that she truly thought norwe was seriously pushing her because he opened RVS with a "Andante always roll scum against me!". She says "norwe probably rolled scum and is looking to tunnel me" as a reaction which is

very hard to believe it's a genuine thought

.

Focusing on multiple points is often detrimental, so let me highlight the most important factors for me thinking Andante may be scum here:

1) It's almost impossible for me to believe at the moment that someone that usually jokes around so much like Andante couldn't properly understand that Norwe only said that as a joke rather than as a serious push/shade on her.

2) If she wasn't loosely following the game, it would be a

miraculous

coincidence if she just happened to be here when we finally mentioned her. Between our first mention towards her and her reply there was only 16 minutes.

It's very, very, very hard to believe that she isn't checking out the game there and here, but she insists saying that she has barely read the game and that's why she wasn't saying anything.

When someone instantly shows up after you mention them but they weren't talking before, in my experience I legitimately think around 80% of the time they've just been scum.
