Heya, so the trick to hydrae is basically pick one person in the hydra, and try to read that one person. Part of the fun of hydras for me is obfuscation and because we're 3 players working together it also changes how we play.

As a slot, we need to compound reads and compare notes at some point, thats a given.
Our levels of investment have been different as all 3 of us have got busy lives recently which is partly why we hydra'd.

So with that in mind, I want to you expand on why you think our current dissonance is scum indicative, why you're not engaging despite having bigger fish to fry if you think we're scum (you got one of the heads here and active). Town objective should always be to take out scum, and you go for a scum flip over an information flip always.

Whats so bad about Nornors reads list not containing a potential solve on D1 in a large? Cause thats what it reads as to me.

Fortunately, I can still help. To be clear, it's not the dissonance Shrike (or I) have problems with. It's that Noraa's is the ramshackle mess I expect from scum Noraa and yours is the tidy, well-organized uncontroversial stack of perfectly aligned 8x11 papers with the appropriate date, time, stamp of approval, wax seal and signature affixed to each that I cannot imagine you creating based on my knowledge of you, primarily based on the interactions I've had with you OOG and your Death Curse town play, and thus not appearing to come from you as town.

You don't look like you look when you're town or not playing, Noraa looks EXACTLY like she looks as scum. The apparent "dissonance" is therefore actually a consonance, at a higher level of understanding.

Fun fact about death curse, I was still in my first newbie game when I joined that, DC was my first large and with all the big names and personalities in here, well you know how anxiety goes. Hell I was even scared of Nora

Arcade Pals last post was 1136, and I see no evidence they have been active in thread since. That was prior to both myself and MegA's replacement joining the game. "not eager to join Mega/Val wagon" seems an odd justification in that context, and I suspect this might well be coming from a pre-conceived notion of slots others might find scummy rather than a geninue attempt to team solve.

At risk of throwing more fuel on this fire, I've always found Norwee's justification for a MegA wagon to be crap too. I know from personal experiance that the justification T3 gave for voting Norwee was just plain wrong, but I can't help but feel he might have been in the right place with the read in general.

LLD doesn't function like a typical mastermind. She's a master at reading people and knowing what they need and how they react. She uses this to win a game and has no qualms about doing so as either alignment. I respect her for it, but it does make her harder to read.

If she's scum, she has no problem savagely bussing if necessary. If she's town, she'll savagely go after her scumreads. If she's less aggressive, I worry she's laying the charm on thick. I still have some concerns because I don't really see an aggressive agenda but the recent posting is a bit better.

I have no doubt she could coordinate some scum actions, but she's not a parental style figure to her scumteams. She's the savage socratic method of mafia, as either alignment.

This posting refers to the LLD I play with the most. The LLD that posts with just Xs and checkmarks is a different LLD entirely.

I feel really confident saying Bears vs STD is TvT. STD defending post 50 isn't alignment indicative, but I see the motivation behind it as town stubbornness. And the Bears have been very townie basically all game, but WRT to the recent argument with STD I think Fae's aggression and logic comes from a town mindset and not scum looking for a "gotcha".

I sorta feel like this but not completely. It's not totally NAI. StD wanting credit suggests he believes Ircher is flipping scum. Arguing for credit for a miselimination isn't something scum generally do (and StD would know that Ircher was town). So if Ircher's town, it logically follows that StD is town. Aside from that, it's NAI.

I don't think anyone truly cares about their scum record, unless you're FL or something. So I'm speaking from a psychological standpoint.

If you wanna go from a psychological stand-point, being scum is a stressor as you have the burden of knowledge - to hide yourself and your teammates. People generally replace out more as scum and thats annoyingly true for us currently (We had to be repped once because we actually lost time and were scum -.-;) Some will be discreet about it, some won't be. The issue is when it becomes a Trust Tell level of event. Bell is a good example of this, and I know it's not something he does intentionally. Bell is literally locked in after page 10 usually based on activity alone.
As for caring about scum records, it's a passive care for me. I track my win/lose ratio so I can see how well I stack up against what should be average.

There's a lot of nuance in his posts that just aren't there when he's town. Like it straight up ISNT THERE when he's town. It's part of the reason I struggle with reading him but theres just so much nuance here that is just so scummy. My issues are present in these posts below but ESPECIALLY the most bottom quote.

So with that in mind, I want to you expand on why you think our current dissonance is scum indicative, why you're not engaging despite having bigger fish to fry if you think we're scum (you got one of the heads here and active). Town objective should always be to take out scum, and you go for a scum flip over an information flip always.

noraa's readslist looks plastered together in a way that seems disingenuous. they have a lot of "i dunno" reads, put some of my top scumreads in their town pool, completely forgot to write something about greeting, i think they could be making it up. it has nothing to do with not having a potential solve i think they actually did a good job of solving and sometimes scum readlists leave much to be desired in the way of scum reads. but putting half the town in your scum pile kind of dilutes the value of the read in a sense because 1) it can't be true and 2) it's casting a wider net making it easier to be right about scum.

talking to noraa doesn't feel like talking to scum!noraa though so i want to give you a pass for now to see if i can read you better later in the day or on D2 or something.

Nah, if I had to wager a guess, we're either fighting Objects of Power, like the Anchor, or variations from such (hello esseJ), or main Hiss Agents like Tomassi or Trench, maybe a combination of both.

In fact, just a bet in general, the scum team could simply just be all the bosses with no real alignment differential.

I have had no reason to townread Ircher, but wasn't convinced the lack of "on-pointness" that mastina described was AI at the early stage it was raised, and thought it better to wait and see if things improved.

They haven't, but my reads on some of the characters that jumped on the wagon while I was waiting gave me pause.

I'm still not TRing that slot, though, and my head understands its probably a mistake to rely on my reads on other slots at this stage.

I've got two major problems with the ircher wagon. I'd compromise it if you convinced my buddies, but I feel that scum are just sitting on the sidelines waiting for us to flip town. They know certain members have their minds made up on Ircher, so why do they have to push elsewhere? Why do they have to defend Arcade?

StD talks about miraculous resistance to Ircher and brags about LLD's prowess. LLD is one of the "resistant" voters though. I know LLD is widely townread but I don't feel it.

My evasiveness is because us bumping heads doesn't get us any closer to hitting scum today. We could discuss the better option between Andante or Val instead of arguing over whether roden is town or not when I'm not pushing there in the first place. You said he wasn't an option for you, fine I didn't pursue I just wanted something finite when it became relevant.

Shrike you know as much as me that while a hydra changes how someone plays, the activity isn't relevant to the hydra and Dunn should still be readable using any activity tells you have. Noraa and, I think, Flea are playing defenses down, a free-from-worry type style. There's some analytical stuff in the ISO that's from flea or titus -- it's unsigned so not sure -- that's poignancy lends itself to a town process. Titus may be driving that because a lot of the later signed similar stuff is hers. They're also being proactive and provacative.
