You begin the game as a named vanilla townie.

Whenever you are targeted by an action by somebody with a different win condition to your own, that action is blocked (even actions that usually cannot be blocked like a strongman kill). You gain that players win condition, and both you and that player will be informed of your new win condition.

You are not elligible to vote, and do not count for the number of players necessary to achieve a lynch.

Twice per game you may PM the mod to tell them that "

is my Parent." You share a private thread with your Parents (day or night chat as determined by mod rules). If you would die and you have at least one living parent, then one of your parents at random dies instead.

You are a named Jack of all Trades. Your alignment is chosen by the mod.

At night you can pick one of your abilities to use, you cannot not use each ability more than once per game:
  • Tracker
    : Learn who target player target, but not what actions they performed.
  • Camera
    (Watcher): Learn who targeted target player, but not what actions were performed on them.
  • Motion Detecter
    : Learn if target player targeted or was targeted by another player, but not what actions or who else was involved.
  • Wiretapper
    (PT Cop): Learn whether target player has access to any private threads, even if there are no longer any other active players in those threads.

Each night you are informed of the first and last player (in real time) to submit a night action to the moderator. If any of those actions targeted you they fail. Factional actions count as having been submitted by the player who carries them out at the time the faction submits it.

Town Tarot Reader


At the beginning of the game the mod draws a random number of role cards from this thread and assigns them a unique tarot card from the major arcana as an identifier.

Each night you must visit a player you haven't visited before and give them a fortune. They will get a new role card drawn from your deck. You learn the tarot card but not the role card they drew. Once a card has been drawn that player has it, it is not shuffled back into the deck. They retain their alignment.

Alien Brain Extractor


Whenever a non-Alien player dies you will recieve the same information about their night actions that they had, including any factional actions.

Once per night you may use a night action you have recieved information about. If you use a factional action then you investigate as being a member of that faction for that night. You may not use the same night action more than once or different actions from a player you have already used. (e.g you won't get multiple uses of a factional action for killing multiple members of that faction, but you would get multiple doctor uses if two different doctors died)

The mod will confirm if it is true or false or inform you if it contains information they cannot cast judgement on. The text can be from any post in the thread said by anyone.

Mod - try to be lenient if the player sends you something that is mostly factual with a bit of fluff, but if you are be clear on what part you are giving a factual judgement. Don't lie

Friendly Neighbourhood Serial Killer


Each night you must kill a player. You win with the town. You investigate as town unless being a Serial Killer would provide a different result.

You have a 1-shot bulletproof, 1-shot ninja and 1-shot strongman. These get used automatically when you would be killed/be detected by something a ninja avoids/be blocked by something a strongman breaks through and you don't know if they have been used.

You are treated as a 3rd party Serial Killer for determing whether an endgame has occured.

You are a traitor. You know the identity of the Mafia and win with them. They do not know your identity but they know there is a traitor.

You are an inventor. Each night you may choose a player to give an invention to. You can give each invention only once. Your target recieves the invention at the end of the night.

Inventions:
- Invuln : You have a 1-shot bulletproof. The next time you would die due to an action you survive.
- Noclip : You have a 1-shot ninja. You may use this when you perform a night action to not be detected by trackers and similar investigative roles.
- Godmode : You have a 1-shot strongman. You may use this when you perform a kill action to not be blocked by protective roles.
- Invis : You have a 1-shot Godfather. The next time you would be investigated by an alignment based investigation, you investigate as town.

Each night you may visit a player. You must visit the same player as previously each night if they are still alive. Your night ability changes depending on how many times you have visited that player.

First visit: Leave a bunch of flowers (~ Fruit Vendor)
Second visit: See who else has visited that player that night, or what was done to that player that night, your choice (Watcher or Voyeur)
Third visit: Jailkeep that player
Fourth+ visit: Kill that player

You win with the town, and investigate as town aligned serial killer. If town loses but you and the person you most recently visited at night are both still alive at endgame, you win and they lose, irrespective of other results.

At the beginning of the game, and starting each day and night after you have a 50/50 chance of being a Jester or a Bulletproof Multitasking Serial Killer. You investigate and win as whichever you currently have.

Your kill flavour is whatever you want

Mod note: in addition to whatever kill flavour they ask for, their victims "died laughing."

Once each night you may visit a player. A player you visit is informed you are aligned with the town, and if they would die this night, you are killed instead.

After you die, the person who killed you (or placed the last elim vote on you), requires one less vote to eliminate.

Each night one member of the masonry can perform a factional night action. Unless stated elsewhere masons are not multitasking. While you are alive your faction has two factional kills each night. However factional kills will target a random person out of the target and anyone who visited the target.

You have two one shot abilities you can use at night. You may use either or both in addition to a factional kill.

Town Lazy Votecounter


While you are alive votes at deadline are resolved by plurality, with ties being no elim. A majority vote before deadline is still successful. The main game thread is made aware of these changes but not the source.

You start off with a random player whose votes you are too lazy to count. That player's vote do not count while you are alive but the player still counts for determining what is a majority. At any point you may pm the mod to change which player whose votes you are too lazy to count.

Town Abductee


You have been abducted by a random player who has an anti-town win condition. Each night you may visit a player to learn if that is the player who has abudcted you. Unless your target is correct your action will be treated as roleblocked for other players (so, for example, a tracker would only see your visit if you visited your abductor). You may not vote and do not count for calculating a majority as long as your adbuctor is alive.

Your abductor knows your identity, but while they are alive their faction may not attempt to kill you or prevent your action. Resolve kills from other players as if your abductor is babysitting you.

If your abductor dies, you are immediately confirmed as town, and you gain back your vote and count for any vote calculations again. In addition it takes an extra vote to eliminate you.

One of your doc shots is sane, one is insane (50% kill chance), and one is a kill. Which shot you use each time is random, and you don't know what the types of the used or remaining shots are.

At the beginning of the game you know all of the anti-town team factions in the game (i.e. not third parties). They all know you exist but not your identity. At any point in the game you may contact the mod to choose one of those factions. You will learn the identity of the members of that faction and now investigate as a member of that faction.

You win with the chosen faction. You must choose your faction before the day or night phase in which they win, and cannot win if you haven't chosen a faction. You may choose a faction even after death.

Before choosing a faction you investigate as not a member of the town, but not as a member of any specific faction either.

You start as a Hotshot Detective. You are a detective that gets a correct positive result even against abilities that confound investigation, and must investigate each night.

However, your negative result and no info result return the same no info result message. If it was a negative result, you become a Drunk Detective. You will always get a no info result, investigate as a Drunk Detective to a Rolecop, and other investigations and players you visit will be informed of "the smell of cheap booze and sadness". You will not be informed when you have become a Drunk Detective.

If you are jailed as a Drunk Detective (or another power that would thematically keep you off the booze), you become a normal Detective.

You will gain access to all non-factional private threads that player has access to with other players (i.e. neighbourhoods are ok, alignment confirmed threads like masons are ok, informed factions are not, private threads with one active player are not). You will also read any messages sent to or by them by mailman-like abilities. Your presence will not be announced unless someone from that private thread or sending/recieving mail visits you. You cannot post in them or tamper with mail. You retain access to those channels of communication until you tap a different player.

Town Compulsive Loyal/Disloyal Fruit Vendor


Each night you must target a player. If you do not pick a player you will visit the first living player in

The player may be informed that they received fruit as follows: Each pair of visits one will be resolved as loyal (i.e. blocked if you target someone who does not share your alignment) and one will be disloyal (i.e. blocked if you target someone who does share your alignment). You will not be told which is which, and the first fruit of each pair is random.

Example: Your fruit night 1 is randomly loyal or disloyal. If it is loyal, night 2 is disloyal, and vice versa. Night 3 will be random again and the pattern will repeat.

You investigate as a vanilla townie and cannot be changed by being vanilla-ised.

While you are alive Town has a factional kill. Each night town can kill someone by only having one member send it in as a night action. If multiple players send it in all are blocked even if they target the same person. Town is made aware of this ability by the mod, and it is linked to the survival of one of their own, but not who that is, after you perform a factional kill for the first time.

Any day or night actions that player takes until tomorrow cannot be prevented, and they are protected as if you bodyguard them, including against an elimination. At the end of the night if your death proof has not been triggered they receive a Sunlight Medal and are informed that they "engaged in jolly cooperation"

If your death proof has not been triggered you win with town.

You have a one shot death proof against all deaths, including elimination.

Following your death proof being consumed you are a strongman serial killer who must attempt a kill each night and if at least one person visits them, will randomly kill amongst the people who visited them instead.

Would this inherit UBackup from a UBackup that inherits a role? Probably not in Normal games and afaik Backup Universal Backup is a Normal role.
I think I agree. A normal UB gets the new abilities but is still a living UB. A backup also inherits the ability in its current state (for number of shots and stuff) so I think if a UB has triggered before death, the UBB inherits whatever power the UB had. That interaction is probably complex enough you'd find it hard to get through a normal game review, even if technically normal. And this is all assuming your Grand Idea game is normal unless stated otherwise

Mod notes: On death you become a Disappointed Ghost. You don't join the dead thread, can talk in day as normal and can send someone a message each night like a mailman. Because you are dead you cannot die, vote and you don't count for a majority - but other actions can target you. You win if town loses.

Instead of getting a new card you may further study a card you've already learned of to learn why it was discarded - e.g. it gave the alignment to another card, it says to discard it, mod felt that it was unfair/unfun/unbalanced

Even after aliens have used their one shot factional kill they may attempt to visit players and if you have visited that player before that player will be killed.

If an alien attempts to visit you for the factional kill (either the one shot, or granted through your ability) instead you will join the alien communications, and lose your investigation protection and night action.

Each night, you can doctor the results of the flip from the mafia kill. You can kill and doctor on the same night, and count as visiting the killed player even if you only doctor the results. The mod will generate 5 random roles from the Grand Idea thread, you can pick one and that is the card that is revealed the next morning.

A gunsmith sees you as lacking a gun, but a rolecop will get a correct investigation on you.

The Beginning


While you are alive, and for one day/night after your death, it is always Day 1 or Night 1.

At the beginning of the game you will be informed whether or not there are roles in the game that are impacted by your manipulation of the day/night number.

You win if it is Day or Night 1 when an endgame condition is reached. You do not have to be alive to win this way.

At any time you my PM the mod to have them post a message "PLAYERNAME is a member of the ALIGNMENT", where you pick the player and alignment. You cannot make the mod post a message about a different player until the first player is dead. You can have the mod post messages saying that that player is a member of a different alignment (or the same alignment) as much as you want. If you submit a message in pregame or at night the mod will post it at the start of the day.

You cannot perform a kill if you used your documentary power this night or in the previous day.

Werewolf Clean Cop


As long as you have not performed the werewolf factional kill, you may investigate a player at night to learn if they are a member of the mafia.

Once you have performed a kill you become addicted to alcohol to deal with the shame and become a Drunk Cop. You always get a "no result" result, investigate as a Drunk Cop to a Rolecop, and other investigations and players you visit will be informed of "the smell of cheap booze and sadness". You know you are drunk and your investigations do nothing but you just don't care, so you always investigate, and now can even kill on the same night.

If you are jailed as a Drunk Cop (or another power that would thematically keep you off the booze), you become a Clean Cop again, but now you have killed you won't investigate.

Each night you must visit a player, and you cannot visit a player more than one time more than any other living player (Roaming, except it resets when every living player has been visited). You win the game if the player you most recently visited wins, but do not learn their wincon. They are informed of your visit, and that you were "most helpful". You can win even if you are dead, you just can't visit players to change your target any more.

As long as you are alive, your target takes one more vote to eliminate and is strong-willed.

You learn how many regulars were in the bar each night, and how many new customers there were. A regular is a player who has been in the bar before and a new customer is someone who hasn't.
