CHALLENGE TWO

In this game, we are going back to the time of old school texting. In this game, you will be using a standard keypad as if you were texting words. This is what we're talking about, if you're too young to remember (like me):

Rules:

1. You will get a series of 15 words or phrases. Your job is to convert the letters to numbers. For example, if you get the letter “E” you would type “33”. 1 and 0 will not be used in this challenge.

2. Each word and spacing will need to be correct to accept this. For example if you were prompted with “EAT THIS”, you would answer “3328 8444447777” in order to spell that phrase as if you were old school texting! Magic.

3. Your final score will be out of 15. The two players with the lowest scores will be up for elimination. If there is a tie, then the slowest person to get that score will be up for elimination.

4. When you are ready you will submit “Starting”. If you accidentally click out of it, you can submit “starting” again. However, you may only submit "finishing" once, and that will be the only set of answers we will accept.

5. You will have a 1 hour max out time. Any guesses submitted after 1 hour will not count.

6. You will have until tomorrow at 9pm EST, in (expired on 2022-01-19 21:00:00), to complete this challenge.

7. The image above will be used as our definitive source for how letters are coded for this challenge (since there is some variance in how different cell phones handle them). If you submit according to some other system, your answers will be marked as incorrect.

RULE CLARIFICATION: For the purposes of this challenge, the only resource that is allowed is pen and paper once you submit "starting" on the google doc. In general, you are allowed to use a Google Doc or Sheet that is empty when you start the challenge,

but this is not allowed for this challenge.

Round 4 Challenge

In this game of Scattergories, you will be given 20 categories, each with a letter. (I & L just to show how i and l will appear). Your job is to come up with a single 3+ letter word that starts with that letter that fits that category. For example, if you got “Food, R” you could put rice. You could also put raspberry. Either one is fine. However, "raspberry ice cream" wouldn't be okay because it's more than one word. However, if two people give the exact same answer for each category, no points will be earned by those who answered the exact same. You will want to do this as quickly as possible.

1. There are a total of 20 points that can be earned in this challenge. This assumes you get no duplicate answers.

2. You are allowed to use whatever outside resources you want! Aren’t we nice?

3. Although you are allowed to submit “Starting” as many times as you want, you may only submit “Finishing” once. Once you finish, your time will be locked. Your time will start from the first time you select “Starting” and hit submit.

4. You will have a 1 hour max out time. Any guesses submitted after 1 hour will not count. If there is a score tie in this challenge, the person who submitted slower will be put on the block. You’re incentivized to go as fast as possible for that reason!

5. You will have until tomorrow at 9pm, (expired on 2022-01-23 21:00:00) to complete this challenge.

6. Just so you know, being on the block might not necessarily be a bad thing in the near future

ROUND 9 CHALLENGE

You will be given a large word search. Your job is to find as many 4+ letter words as you can in 30 minutes or less. It will be required that you take a screenshot and using an image editing/hosting program submit the link as your final submission. If we have questions about what you have submitted, we will follow up with you.

1. This challenge is pretty straight forward, you get a word search when you hit “submit” to start your challenge. It’s your job, using an image editing/hosting site and a tool like MS Paint, to circle as many 4+ letter words as you can find.

2. When you are ready to submit, you will select “finish” and input the URL to the image. We will go through once submissions are received to determine how many valid words you were able to find. You may only submit “finish” once, any further submissions will not be considered.

3. Scoring will be based on the number of letters that you do not use to make any words (or, more clearly, the number of letters that are not circled or highlighted in your submission plus any used only to create words that aren’t real). The two players with the HIGHEST scores - corresponding to the worst performances on this challenge - will be up for elimination, using time to submit as the tiebreaker if necessary.

4. You will have a 30 minute max out time. Any guesses submitted after 30 minutes will not count. Words can be forwards, backwards, up, down, or diagonal.

As stated in the rules, the tiebreaker for any round is a smaller version of the challenge that was played in that round. Which means Vash and STD will participate in a smaller round of Math Reflex with 10 questions only. All rules are the same as in the actual challenge. The player that performs better will live to fight another day, and the one that performs worse will be eliminated as our fourth member of the jury.

ROUND 11 CHALLENGE

In this challenge you will get a YouTube video of a song. You will also get a second YouTube video for the song, but with the track divided into 27 eight-second segments, simply presented with letters "A", "B", and so on. There is a 27th clip that is marked “#”, please keep this in mind when assembling. Your job is to correctly post the sequence of letters (and #) that create the correct song from the first video.

Rules:

1. Once you start the challenge you cannot use any outside resources, with the exception of pen and paper, a computer notepad, and the online pitch pipe tool located here.

2. You will click starting, and then resubmit and click finishing when done to submit. Although you can click starting as many times as you need, the first time will start your timer. You can only submit once to finish.

3. The two players who get the least amount of letters (and #) in their correct position in the final sequence will be up for elimination. If there is a tie, the player who submits slower will be put up for elimination.

4. You will have 90 minutes (1.5 hours) to submit your guess. Any guesses submitted after that amount of time will not count.

5. You will have until tomorrow at 10pm, in (expired on 2022-02-06 22:00:00) to start this challenge.

Hello players! Today you will be doing a logic puzzle. A logic puzzle is a series of clues that, when put together, should allow you to figure out the eventual answer. Here is a sample logic puzzle and a sample submission sheet. You will be provided a similar submission sheet when you play the challenge, which you will use and submit the final image (you will need an image hosting site).

Rules:

1. While you are allowed to do as many logic puzzles as you want to prior to the challenge beginning, you are not allowed to use outside resources once you start the challenge. If you need pen and paper or want to use a notepad on a computer to make notes, that’s fine, but outside of that no other resources.

2. You will have 2 hour max out time once the challenge begins. If nothing is submitted 2 hours from the time you start, your score will be 0.

3. Each correct answer on the submission sheet earns you a point. The two players that score the fewest points will be put on the block. If there is a tie for who will end up on the block, the player who submitted slower will be the one to end up on the block.

4. You will fill the Google Form out twice, once to start, and once to stop. You can submit “starting” as many times as you need if you accidentally didn’t write down or get what you needed, but you will only submit “finishing” once. Whatever you submit first will be what we count for the score. If you submit again after, we won’t be able to count it. When you submit, you will submit a screenshot of the submission card filled out.

5. You will have until tomorrow at 11:59pm EST/8:59pm PST ((expired on 2022-02-11 23:59:00)) to complete this challenge. If everyone finishes before the time is up, we will post results early. We're happy to add 24 hours to the deadline if anyone would like us to do so.
