It means, if we elim Town, and Cult convert, we end up on 3vs4. AND iT"S UNWINNABLE STATE ALREADY, as even if we elim cult leader right, they still will convert, making it 3vs3. Only Vigilante can break that (and not when it already happened).
Also you probably noticed i listed Cult Exploder as simple Cult Leader. Yeah. Because there's no reason or benefit to explode, thus removing converting power and more importantly, letting town chance to elim other one. I believe cult understand that, so it's a given.

Claim is enough to save self from execution. Reveal is overkill.
IC need this ability to prove they are innocent and not converted later. If they just reveal, cult could convert him... Or they could not. And we have no way to know.

If you're up for the chop, claim, prove. At that point you buy more time for town and prevent a mischop that day. Next day the WIFOM game starts (which I was freaking great at last time I played cult, ngl)

Quick question. What happens if Cult recruits an IC before they’ve revealed? Wouldn’t they just be able to claim later without needing to mod confirm and buy themselves a free day for another recruit?

"New" cultists can't convert, so we need ignore them, before Alpha perish. After that, it's easy to see if IC is converted or not (ASSUMING HE DIDN'T WASTE ABILITY JUST FOR LOL)

Expect from converts performing suicidal anti-town plays in hopes draw fire on self and let another convert easily happen.
Or worse, expect IC trading claims with actual CL (If IC didn't claim for first day). So it only works for first day. Yep.
