I tried for a bit but it wasn't taking anything so I said screw it.

The only reason I even have one on Discord is a server made me get one, but unlike here I actually got it to work easily.

Playing mafia helps keep the "claws" sharp. Kitties need their claws unfortunately.

Did you make sure it was 100×100? It took me multiple times and using a buggy site to shrink my pfp to fit. This site doesn't take it if it's too big.

We can always do the age old "vote out whoever posts last" thing. That's worked out before.

I mean genuinely sometimes it's best to cut the weak links early when we can afford it like lurkers and such. And usually the person who posts last was either busy IRL or (90% of the time) is a player who doesn't contribute as much. But a general low poster after 10ish real days will do.

Copying this from the rules though, this game is the one week variety instead of the normal 2 weeks I'm used too so accelerating the timeline would be... Hmm.

Stating my plan early I guess since it's best to be on the same page, but if town doesn't really come to a consensus with like 24 hours left I'm voting the player with the lowest post count. Unless that player is one of those folks who write literal essays per posts like some do, then it'll be the second person.

So if you'll wanna follow my plan when that happens, great. If not, guess we should find scum then.

Edit: it's not like I want it either. I want us all to contribute. So it's like a safety net to have. I've just been burned to much from lurkers turning out to be scum that just rode their way to victory.

You'd be surprised how quick you can identify people who wanna hide. And "lurker" is more strict in a week long game instead of a two week one.

For example, Eiralox has one post and did a basic forgettable introduction. While Gibus also has one post they specifically decided to be a troll about it. I won't forget that anytime soon.

Just look for the people who wanna post and phase into the background to not stand out. That'll help you find scum.

Edit: and Crescent even pointed out said people to look out for. I may just take her up as my apprentice/buddy cop.

But yeah it's still my main plan for now to try and find scum among the low posters first. Or at least force activity. But if you see one of the middle posters not doing anything let me know too.

I see the value but with how much your spewing your already giving enough for people to understand who you are. Prodding people for reactions is best so I can read them better day 2 looking for contradictions. And if I get shot at least I contributed to the standing of the game.

Re-reading your ISO again kinda had the opposite effect of what you wanted and now your on my lower end while reading Corwin moved him up. Like... Sometimes I get sticking to the first vote but tunneling so hard day 1? Nah.

From a cursory ISO:

I think Elsa fell off a cliff too much for my taste which is in contrast to earlier activity.
Picking gibus and N_M as scum also looks baddish, they are in my launch-bait category, and Elsa didn't really look like they were putting in much effort after that list.
The whole Corwin/GB notion seems to fly by Elsa.

I put those 2 in a separate category from the people I actually thought were scummy/needed more content for a reason. Those were the acceptable policy ones.

My activity fell off a cliff for OOG work reasons. I started the game on my vacation so now I'm back to a normal busy time. Will be at work again today like I said yesterday but I am paying attention still.

We (me and Clidd) did interact earlier on the policy thing. And adding a vote to Owen seemed right since (again) we're in the final day so I was getting a wagon on my scumread.

Elsa is fascinating to me right now. I can see the arguments and I can see her seeming to avoid half of them. The attempts to get me to vote Owen and their reaction to the Corwin train certainly didn't town vibe me.

I can see independent reasons for both Elsa and Corwin being scum, but based on their interactions, I don't feel it's both. An exchange like 611 especially only happens if scum plans it out beforehand. At the moment, I think Vivax is town regardless.

Detective let's you find scum who preformed a night kill. It can also find vigilantes or something. Which uh...

If your a vigilante shoot Owen. If Owen for whatever reason you are the vigi shoot Corwin.

Yes it felt rushed, (although that might be because I wasn't present for any of it, I literally woke up in the morning and was like "oh wow George is dead, didn't expect that to happen". quick thoughts before i look at people properly.
but there were 7 votes on George yesterday, one who turned red. so 6 left

and there were 6 people not on the wagon, but 2 have turned up green so that is 3 left.
i reckon, on the law of averages, better hunting for scum off wagon than on.

For the first part, it would be rather obvious that 9.5/10 times scum shot is Clidd over Owen. What benefit would a Owen death bring to them? Besides losing an easy launch we were all ready to do.

The Gibus vote I'm assuming is his list of the 3 scummiest players to him.

For the wagon analysis... It feels better to look at where the people were voting before they all jumped onto George. Obviously the hammerer turned out guilty, but I think at least one opportunist jumped on there as scum. One who probably was voting Owen/Corwin but jumped ship.

NotMaf/Eira/Gibus/Alex/Cres/Vivax were the remaining six on there. One scum there I think. NotMaf and Eira were already there before everyone switched over tho so not them. NotMaf has separate scum equity tho so not sure.

You thought George was your aligned partner, which is why you didn't seem to care even slightly which of Corwin or Owen was voted off - Just so long as it wasn't George. You even went as far as to say he "crumbed" PR, but only admitted you were lying after Owen hammered.

You were set on voting off Corwin before the day started, and didn't stop to factor in what Owen's flip meant. This is why you quick voted him so fast and had to be forced to acknowledge the vote wasn't happening. Vivax, who is town, was all over Corwin, but didn't feel the need to vote him immediately. He even thought he did when he didn't!

You feel like you can't join the vote on Vivax from Corwin, so you pull the "my vote my choice" cringe to stick lazily on Corwin. You wait for a safe place to put your vote that might actually take off.

The moment Gibus gets a sniff, you hop on because its "fun". You feel you established on him yesterday and did not need to explain yourself jumping on him today. You sit back and watch BBT and I grill him for you.

Plus side to Elsa and Cres is that I don't think they can be scum together. But I have a conundrum there since they both present compelling arguments against each other which I kind of agree with. Would not hate a launch here.
Would not shock me if Elsa flipped red. Talk of policy elim only 3 pages in, very defensive reaction to my D1 push on her and overall has appeared on and off throughout the game as though she's wanting others to push the game forward rather than her do much herself. Maybe it's a playstyle thing? I don't think it's a pro-town thing though. For what it's worth, Mafia Traitor Owen refers to and talks of Elsa a lot in his short ISO and appears to townread her? I know we tread into WIFOM territory looking at his ISO, but it's worth pointing out I think.
On the other hand, I can absolutely see a scenario where scum!Cres has been lumped with an unknown traitor and a low activity partner. Lots of frustration over the lack of activity - maaaybe that's originating from her scum partner not being active and that's a cause for her anger. Her taking a break once votes got stacked against her is interesting timing. At times some of her posts have also bordered on feeling a bit appeal to emotion (like more or less implying how doomed the town is if she gives up or dies or whatever). I've noticed when people come after her she tends to aggressively attack and discredit more so than just defend herself. I asked before if her case against Elsa was the first time she had suggested it, because I found the timing of her coming out with that right after Elsa declared suspicion on her to be pretty convenient. But apparently Cres has said it before, I'll probably have to do a re-read and ISO there.
There's questionable stuff that Cres has posted but ultimately I think her frustration with town seems genuine and she does appear to be someone trying to solve the game.

If there's a Vigilante it's significantly higher chance for multiple. one for town and scum. Though a Bodyguard for scum makes little sense in the long run as that just means it would die instead of their teammate?

Though considering I'm also an enabler, and the mention of a checker implies Roleblocker, now I don't know.

Bodyguard dies instead of the target. Doctor just prevents the target from dying. If we both somehow got on someone? I want to assume I die anyway as doc would have to heal me? Or because the target wasn't going to die I don't step in to die instead, meaning we both live?

Idunno. It's a rare interaction and sometimes Mods get minor lee-way in deciding it.

It makes little sense for there to be a Mafia Bodyguard, as they have no reason to target anyone except a scumpartner; and a Vigilante who finds that their kill resolved on a different scum than they expected can simply shoot their previous target again.

As always, including multiple protective roles in the game can lead to broken role combinations. Doctor+Bodyguard can lead to circular protections, as can Bodyguard+Bodyguard. If you are going to include these combinations in your game, make sure you specify how they work - presumably in a way that does not allow them to cross-protect successfully.

Directly from the Bodyguard Mafiascum wiki page if these help my case at all. The second one is literally the same thing Cres asked to so it's fair. But it seems like it'll end in a way where we can't cross protect probably.

I've done this in enough games where the mod basically consults someone and puts the scenario in the thread. Even if the roles don't exist in the game he will have to put it in the thread so we know what would happen.

I do have one problem with Elsa's claim though.

The redacted seems to insinuate yet another power role that hasn't been claimed. This makes at least 5 town power roles. For a setup that has to 2+1, that seems like a lot of power.

Detective+Vig+Gibus+Elsa+Redacted = 5.

I find it curious why Elsa would just sit there and accept Gibus' claim.

I never did answer this but fme isn't games like this like 3 scum 5-6 Vanilla townie and 4-5 PRs? The more scum power means more for town as well. And with a role like detective, vig, doc, and BG, I'm assuming at least one more for sure not counting my enabler info.

Oh and this is for Gibus: if we both promise to go on one person they literally can't die. If your role is correct them roleblocking you with notify you what happened, and then instead of the person dying it would just be me. This way we both make sure one guy can't die.
