Faction Introduction:
Dark Creatures

Dark Creatures
have a factional Combined Roleblocker Poisoner action known as "Plunge in Darkness". (This prevents someone acting that Night, and causes them to die at the end of the next Night.)

Dark Creatures
win when all threats to the
Dark Creatures
are gone and at least one
Dark Creature
is still alive, or when nothing can prevent this from occurring.

Additional Info:
Cop: Darkseeker
Godfather: Skyholder
Miller: Abyssal
Mason: Hallowed Knight

(Note that since this post is a faction introduction it should be treated as "Vanilla" if rolled for a role.)

Mysterious Conduit

Each night, you may target a player to charge them with a mysterious energy.

Mod Note: This role charges someone with a mysterious energy indefinitely. (Roles like Mysterious Eidolon can lose mysterious energy charge)

Still, have fun figuring out what being charged with a mysterious energy does.

Mysterious Eidolon

You start the game charged with a mysterious energy.

If you are charged with a mysterious energy, you may attempt to kill a player and gain a random invention (rolled from the mod's deck of choice until you get an active ability). You will no longer be charged with a mysterious energy after this.

Meta-neighbor

You have access to a meta-neighborhood PT with another random player if this card is one of the role cards you can pick.

If this card is picked, the meta-neighborhood PT will remain open. However, if this card is not picked, the meta-neighborhood PT is locked at the start of pregame.

are "meta" cards like this allowed?

Rolecopping Cop corresponding to a random scumteam

You are a rolecopping cop corresponding a random scumteam in the game.

Each night, you may learn if a player belongs to the aforementioned scumteam or not. If they belong to the aforementioned scumteam, you will learn the role of that player.

Rolecopping modifier gives a Role Cop check contingent on a positive result with the attached role. For applying the Rolecopping modifier to non-investigative roles, use the rules for counting a hit with X-Hit.

1-shot Infallible Role Cop

Once in the game during night, you may learn a player's role. This ability cannot be interfered with in any way whatsoever, that is, it will always target its intended target, will always succeed, and will always have its intended effect.

Infallible is a modifier designed for Triplicate Action Resolution. Infallible actions are immune to targeting prevention (anything that prevents targeting altogether, e.g. Commuter), targeting manipulation (redirection, anything adding additional targets), action prevention (blocking), effect prevention (protection, anything that causes you to perform a different action on your target), and effect manipulation (anything that alters how your ability works, e.g. Miller).

1-shot Force of Nature

Once in the game during night, you may cause a player to unavoidably die. This ability is treated as untargeted for all purposes.

If used in a Triplicate Action Resolution game, a Force of Something role is treated as a Meticulous indirect action - making it nearly impossible to interact with!

Murky Mire

Anyone targeting you will be notified that they are stuck in the Murky Mire. Anyone stuck in the Murky Mire has their only action be to try to escape the Murky Mire during the Night. If their action succeeds they are notified that they have escaped and can act as normal again. You are immune to one kill every two cycles, but will be killed by the Negach Syndicate factional nightkill even if it's the only kill targeting the Murky Mire.

Mod Note: Murky Mire's weakness is changed to Negach Syndicate for ABLoAF purposes.

Luminous Horror

Each night, you may target a player and state an intent. A player targeted by you receives the message "
The Luminous Horror has spotted you.
"

List of Intents:

Wandering
- You will visit the player with no additional effect.
Curious
- You will learn if a player has attempted to use a killing ability or not.
Sneaky
- You will learn who the player targeted.
Malicious
- You will attempt to transform the player's role into a Luminous Thrall, appearing
cyan
in votecounts and destroying the original role PM so it doesn't appear in the flip. Using this intent will cause you to appear
cyan

with malicious intent they would become a
Town Luminous Thrall
)

Faction Introduction:
Celestial Angels

Celestial Angels are a benign groupscum faction.

Celestial Angels have a target to kill and a target to protect. These targets will be distinct, co-aligned, and not Celestial Angels.

Celestial Angels have a factional Enchantress ability (force a player to Commute, if targeting non-town the performer also commutes, can be roleblocked even if targeting non-town) and a 1-shot factional kill ability. Up to one of these factional abilities may be used each Night.

Celestial Angels win if their kill target dies by any method other than elimination and their protection target either survives to endgame or has a kill ability fail against them.

Additional Info:
Cop: Angelologist
Godfather: Planetary
Miller: Seraphic
Mason: Fallen Being

Kill Checker

Each night, you may check a player. You will be informed of whether your check attempt on that player succeeded or not. Your check is treated as a kill action by all roles that care about your action. If you target a player with the role of king, they will commute that night to get out of check. If you target a player with the role of checker, that player will die and you will be able to target an additional player the next night phase.

For example, this will fail on a Doctor protected player unless they are targeted by at least the same amount of kills that the Doctor protection can protect from, as this resolves later than killing actions due to NAR's Golden Rule.

King and Checker interaction is specific to ABLoAF. A Kill Checker should be considered a variant of the Checker role.

For example, you can ask if there are exactly X townies in this setup or not, whether there is a Doctor in the setup or not, if there are Aliens in the setup or not, if there are two groupscum teams in the setup or not, if there is a third party that ends the game if they win or not, if there is both a Cop and a Tracker in the setup or not, if there are either 4 non-town or a Role Redirector in the setup, or if there is either a non-town-aligned Roleblocker or a town-aligned Rolestopper in the setup or not.

Example Invalid Question due to not being yes/no: How many True Groupscum are in the setup?
Example Invalid Question due to mentioning a specific player: Does a specific player have a town-compatible wincon or not?
Example Invalid Question due to mentioning specific role cards: Was rolled in this setup or not?

Faction Introduction:
Doom Seekers

Doom Seekers have a factional fate of doom action. Each night, a player may be fated. A fated player who is targeted after they are fated will unavoidably die (this doesn't count the night they were fated). A fated player will unavoidably die two Nights after they were fated.

Doom Seekers enable the Doom Counter mechanic for ABLoAF games.

Doom counters are added in these scenarios:

+1 - Town player was targeted by a Doom Seeker's ability.
+1 - A player dies because of fate of doom.
-1 (as in remove a doom counter) - True groupscum or solo 3P player was targeted by a Doom Seeker's ability.

If a Doom Seeker dies, doom counters will be removed corresponding to how many Doom seekers were still alive plus 1. For example, if a Doom Seeker dies when there were 3 alive, 4 doom counters will be removed.

Doom Seekers win if the game ends with everyone dead, and also win if all threats to them are gone.

Doom counter effects (n is the number of Doom Seekers in the setup, n may not be less than 2):

-2n or less - Doom Seekers become unable to fate of doom and there is a 20% chance for all killing actions to fail.

-n or less - The mod flavor becomes motivational.

n or more - The mod flavor becomes creepy.

2n or more - Factional kills become Strong-Willed unless they are targeting Doom Seekers.

3n or more - There is a 20% chance for each Results PM to be consumed by the darkness, having the PM only say "
This Results PM was consumed by the darkness.
"

4n or more - A random non-Doom Seeker player is consumed by the darkness, disappearing without a flip and becoming unable to be interacted with even by dead interacting roles. This effect only triggers once in the game.

5n or more - Doom Seekers may act twice each night. The moderator posts "
The sky has melted into abyssal darkness. This is going to be a wretched night.
"

Weak Marker

Each night, you may mark a player at the end of the Night. Anyone visiting a marked player will learn that the player is marked.

If you target someone who isn't aligned with the Town, you unavoidably die.

X Marks The Spot

Whenever you target a marked player, you will gain a random 1-shot invention from a random active role in Alignment Baked LoAF.

1 player will randomly gain the "Marked" role, which makes them marked (Anyone visiting a marked player will learn that the player is marked.) from the start of the game.

Each night, you may check a player. You will be informed of whether your check attempt on that player succeeded or not.

Mod Discretion
(Must Pick)

You must pick this role if you receive it in picks. If you would be forced to also pick your other role you may choose as normal.

The moderator chooses your role.

Yes, this role card is 100% bastard modding. And yes, this is actually in the rules text.

this space intentionally left blank

You are neither Named nor Vanilla. Thusly, you return a blank result to Role Cops.

I am pretty sure this can still be added to, it has passed its minimum of 200 posts however so ABLoAF games can be ran now.

is past the 200 mark and was posted by the creator of this thread, so I think new posts can still be added.

Reroll before picks, and add a Mason-type role

This result is rerolled after rolling this result before picks and has a Mason-type role added to the result.

The Mason-type role corresponds to a random groupscum faction in the game.

Mason Feasibility Clause
(optional, but a good idea for collaborative decks imo): All Mason-like and Neighbor groups have an extra member rolled randomly out of eligible players (this adds to their role). This is to ensure Mason-likes and Neighbors don't end up being named roles by accident. This doesn't apply to Masonizer or Neighborizer type roles that can add players to their Mason-like or Neighbor groups.

Vanilla
(Don't Pick)

You should not pick this role.

You have no special abilities.

Mod Note: If someone actually picks this role despite the warning not to, you may apply any effect to the player who picked that role and that player receives a Results PM saying "You were told not to pick that role!".

If this is rolled by a reroll
after
picks, the (Don't Pick) ability will not activate. If this is rolled by a reroll
before
picks, the resulting role will have the (Don't Pick) warning in picks and thus the (Don't Pick) ability will activate.

Enchanted Fae Bauble Witness

You know that someone holds the Enchanted Fae Bauble, a mysterious artifact of the fae world.

(If picked, a random player other than you will be given an Enchanted Fae Bauble.)

Mod Note: The Enchanted Fae Bauble is a mysterious item with a mysterious ability that may be active and single target, active and zero target, and/or passive. Beholder

Each night, you may target a player. You will receive all messages that player received that night as a result of special abilities.

Investigation results, Mailman messages, Friendly Neighbor messages, gained item/fruit notifications, Loud/Announcing notifications, and role/alignment change notifications are examples of what is sent to you. A response to a question asked during the night to the moderator, a night action reminder, and a death message are examples of what is not sent to you.

If the Beholder doesn't receive any messages, give the Beholder a negative result ("didn't see anything"). If the Beholder's action fails, give the Beholder No Result ("your beholding has failed").

Ninjas will only prevent a Beholder from seeing messages that are a result of their special abilities.

Informed of Something

The moderator rolls a d6, and then gives you information based on their dice roll.

1 - You are informed of all alignments in the game.
2 - You are informed of how many True Groupscum are in the game.
3 - You are informed of a random True Groupscum player (other than you).
4 - You are informed of a random player other than you's role (but not alignment).
5 - You are informed of how many Benign-aligned players (Benign Groupscum + Benign Third Parties) there are in the game.
6 - You are informed of three random roles other than yours (but not their attached alignments) in the game.

Mod Note: The Role PM and flip say "Informed of Something" and has the ability text specifying how to generate this role's information. The information is sent during pregame as a Results PM.

Informed
(mod chooses nature of information before picks)

You are informed of something about the setup.

Nature of information: ____________ (The nature of information is not part of the Role PM, flip, or discard. It will only appear in picks.)

Examples of nature of information would be "You are informed that a random Townie (other than you) is Town-aligned.", "You are informed of whether or not multiple True Groupscum factions exist.", or "You are informed whether or not mysterious energy and/or fae magic could potentially exist."

The information you give should be truthful, but the nature of information could be anything that doesn't directly give anything away until it is actually picked.

Fae Magic is the Enchanted Fae Bauble's ability.

1-shot Fae Wonder

Once in the game during night, you may target up to two players with fae magic.

Mod Note: Fae Magic is the Enchanted Fae Bauble's ability.

The Enchanted Fae Bauble is a mysterious item with a mysterious ability that may be active and single target, active and zero target, and/or passive. The Enchanted Fae Bauble may be used as a single target item even if it has no active effect, and it will only visit if it actually wants to visit.

If two players are targeted and the Enchanted Fae Bauble doesn't actually target, the ability is used twice.

If the Enchanted Fae Bauble has a passive effect, this role uses it as if it were Activated.

Inner Sanctum Keeper / Hypogean

This role card is different depending on if the alignment is Town or not. If discarded, this role card will read
Inner Sanctum Keeper / Hypogean
.

If Town:
Inner Sanctum Keeper

You are in a PT with other Inner Sanctum Keepers, who are confirmed to be aligned with the
Town
.

The Mason Feasibility Clause applies here - another Townie will be added to the Inner Sanctum PT.

Mod Note: The mod may treat the Inner Sanctum as a factional PT for all purposes.

If not Town:
Hypogean

You are in a PT with other Hypogeans, who are confirmed to not be aligned with the
Town
.

The Mason Feasibility Clause works a bit differently for Hypogeans - a Hypogean PT is guaranteed not to merely contain members of one scumteam. For example, if only Dark Creatures picked the Hypogean role, the Hypogean added by the Mason Feasibility Clause will not be a Dark Creature.

Saint Nick

The moderator reveals that a Saint Nick exists in the game.

Everyone may write a letter to Saint Nick along with any other actions regardless of multitasking. This ability is unavoidable and is treated as untargeted for all purposes.

Each night, you may give someone a present, giving them a random positive utility invention from the mod's deck of choice.

Each night, you may give someone a piece of coal.

Once in the game during night, you may give something related to target letter (this can include Mailman letters), as determined by the moderator.

Mod Note:

ITA Bringer

A 12 hour ITA (In-Thread Attack) window will happen at least 1 real life day into a Day at a predetermined time at the moderator's discretion.

During an ITA window, anyone may use HURT: tags with a single target specified to use an ITA on a player. Players have one ITA each ITA window unless their role PM says otherwise. ITAs have a 15% chance of succeeding unless their role PM says otherwise.

If an ITA succeeds, the player using the ITA will attempt to kill their target.

This ability is disabled during MeLo and ELo.

Nonexistent Groupscum Delegate

A Groupscum faction that isn't already in the game is chosen by the moderator for this role before picks.

You investigate as the groupscum faction picked for this role instead of your actual alignment.

You have personal abilities corresponding to the groupscum faction's factional abilities picked for you.

Mod Note: The Groupscum faction is integrated into the role card. For example, this role card can be a Dark Creature Delegate, a Starkin Delegate, or a Pirate Delegate.

New Year Card Writer

Each night, you may send someone a Happy New Year Card.

A Happy New Year Card must have the phrase "New Year" somewhere in it, but is otherwise considered a Mailman letter.

Happy New Year cards may have these items inside them:

Sparkler - A sparkler sends a results PM of "You see bright and colorful sparks." to anyone visiting you the Night you use a sparkler.
New Year Glasses - New year glasses can be used to investigate someone to see if they have received non-factional private communication or not.
Fruit Token - A fruit token may be redeemed for fruit and immediately sent to another player.
New Year's Ball - Using this item will cause a New Year's Ball to drop in the thread. After a predetermined amount of time, the user of the item will receive an Enchanted Fae Bauble and the moderator will announce a new years celebration. This item may only be given out once.

Mod Note: The Enchanted Fae Bauble is a mysterious item with a mysterious ability that may be active and single target, active and zero target, and/or passive. The Enchanted Fae Bauble may be used as a single target item even if it has no active effect, and it will only visit if it actually wants to visit.

Bunyip

Each night, you may learn if a player is Vanilla or not. If that player is Vanilla, you will protect them from a single night kill that night.

Infallible Mod Fiat Cop

Each night, you may target a player to learn if the moderator dislikes their role as a moderator or not. You will always be Reliable no matter what.

This ability cannot be interfered with in any way whatsoever, that is, it will always target its intended target, will always succeed, and will always have its intended effect.

Mod Note: This is entirely subjective and may differ from each game.

Miller).
