Spoiler: Previous Discussion In This Thread
Hi y'all, this is an interest thread for the potential survivor meet.

Here is the situation as I see it. I loved survivor meet 2 and want to do it again. However, I know theres a lot of logistical issues with survivor meets and hosting. Additionally, the cost and up front nature of some of that cost is problematic. Additionally, I would really like to play instead of mod.

So the purpose of this thread is fourfold.

First, I am stating my intention to financially stake the start up costs of this event. I.e. Booking an airbnb big enough for 25-30 people to spend 3-4 days. As well as other misc. costs associated with getting the ball rolling. Obviously I would ask participants to pay back a percentage share, but I expect this cost to be somewhere between 20-50 bucks a night based on the places I'm looking at.

Second, I am looking for a team of mods that wants to design and run this game. If you've always wanted to run a survivor meet but haven't had the financial resources to do so, hit me up. Obviously a mod with some level of experience is preferred here, or a team that includes someone who has significant experience.

Third, I am gauging interest from players who might be interested in attending and playing. If you're worried about cost being an issue I'm willing to give some amount of scholarships to people to help defray costs a little bit. So if you're interested at all just say that and if you need some financial help we can talk it through when things start getting a little more concrete.

Fourth, I am looking for ideas and suggestions for locations and times that people might be available for this. Obviously everyone's schedules aren't always going to align but it would be nice if we could figure out some dates and places to target.

Interest list here. If you just said in or interested I assumed playing.

UPDATE 12/8/2022
We have secured a location for this and we are ready to move forward.

Our dates will be June 15-20th.

Schedule:

Thursday 15th: Check in at 5pm. Hang out, relax. Grab dinner in town.
Friday-Saturday-Sunday: Game on. Targeting FTC for the evening of Sunday.
Monday: Chill day, board games, maybe do something in town, hang out.
Tuesday: Checkout 11am.

Location:

Granger, IN. Short drive from South Bend, IN, which is the closest airport.

Cost:

The cost of the AirBnB for the whole thing is 2700.

If we have 20 people that is a cost of 135 per person for lodging.

If you'd like to reserve your spot you can do so by paying me this amount.

There will also be a cost for food as well, though obviously we won't know what that is up front. I anticipate it being a similar amount to the cost for lodging, but its hard to say in advance.

If you can't afford this amount please let me know and we can talk. I can afford to help people who might be a little more budget challenged here. I don't want cost to be a reason why someone can't go.

On a similar vein, if you'd also like to help subsidize the cost for others by paying/donating more please let me know. I'll be out of my own pocket for quite a bit of this I suspect, and every bit helps.

Travel Info:

Options for getting to South Bend
1) Fly into South Bend Airport
2) Fly into Chicago and take amtrak to South Bend. It's a 20$ 1.5 hour train ride and you can take public transit directly from the Chicago airports to Amtrak. This option is probably significantly cheaper than flying into SB directly.
(Greyhound bus might be better depending on your timing than amtrak, the amtrak only runs at certain times but there are many buses)
3) Carpool with others from other locations.
4) I will be driving from Chicago so there are a limited number of slots in my car. I am unable to provide overnight accommodations the night before, however.
