This post is reserved for the list of things we know can be done. This list isn't meant to be exhaustive - if you think there's something we should be able to do that isn't listed here, go ahead and ask!

Exploration

- costs time. Digging up buried treasure costs a small amount of energy.

• We can go over an area we already know to see if we missed anything, or if anything's changed.
  
• We can explore a shop to get an updated list of what they sell. This includes the Traveling Merchant (Fridays, Sundays), with different stock every time!
  
• If submitted before I start the deadline timer, I will process this ASAP. During the actual playthrough, we will commit to visiting the area / shop / location.
  
• You can specify a time of day to explore; this may affect which people are present. If you don't, I'll pick a time myself.

Visiting Calico Desert

- costs either 500G or a Warp Totem: Desert. If paying cash, Pam runs the bus starting at 10:10 AM; unknown when she leaves for the day.

• Fishing, foraging, and searching for dig spots are all options here.
  
• There are also two merchants: Sandy and the Desert Trader. Their stock changes regularly, so recommend exploring if we want to buy anything from them. The Trader specifically does *not* accept standard currency!
  
• Skull Cavern
  is here. It offers mining, with a wider variety of rewards. It's also deadlier.

Clearing & Chopping

- costs time & energy.

• The farm is covered with weeds, rocks, sticks, logs, stumps, trees, and grass. If we want to put all this space to good use, we'll have to clear some room out.
  
• Weeds require a
  weapon
  or
  Scythe
  ; they yield fiber (always) and mixed seeds (rarely). This costs no energy.
  
• Rocks require a
  Pickaxe
  ; they yield stone (always), coal (rarely), and geodes (rarely).
  
• Sticks and trees require an
  Axe
  ; they yield wood (always), sap (trees only, always), and seeds (trees only, usually).
  
• Grass requires a
  Scythe
  ; without a
  Silo
  , it yields nothing. This costs no energy.
  
• Other locations may have debris and/or trees as well: Cindersap Forest (both), Pelican Town (debris), and the Mountains (trees).
  
• Trees grow wild on Content Farm; we can also replant them at specified locations. Elsewhere, they'll regrow automatically.

Planting Crops

- costs time & energy.

• Tilling the ground requires a
  Hoe
  . After harvesting, tilled ground can be re-used.
  
• (Optional)We can apply fertilizer to the soil. Depending on the type, it may improve the crop's quality, growth speed, or water retention.
  
• Once planted, the crops must be watered.

Crop Management

- costs time and energy

• Unless it's raining, crops must be watered daily. This requires a
  Watering Can
  (manual watering; costs energy), or the use of
  Sprinklers
  (automatic watering).
  
• Retaining fertilizer gives a chance for water to stay in the soil, lessening the need to water.
  
• Once fully grown, crops must be harvested. Some crops require a
  Scythe
  to harvest.

Animal Management

- costs time

• Animals must be fed daily.
  • On sunny days, we just have to let the animals out to feed early in the day. The animals will return on their own in the evening.
    
  • On rainy days, we have to provide hay. With a Silo, we can cut grass to make hay. Without a Silo, we have to buy it from Marnie.
• Animals can be petted daily.
  
• Mature, well-fed animals will produce items that can be harvested on a regular cycle.

Rummaging through trash

- costs time.

• Sometimes people throw away the craziest things. On the other hand, most of the time they throw away ... well, trash.

Fishing

- costs time & energy.

• We can fish in any body of water. I recommend specifying where to fish if requesting this as an action. If not, I'll pick an area that we're already going to be in to fish.
  
• Results may vary based on a wide variety of factors.
  
• Practice can pay off in the long run.

Mining

- costs time, energy, & health.

• We can either mine at The Mines or Skull Cavern.
  
• The Mines: we can choose a region to concentrate on. We can start at any floor divisible by 5 (up to 120, which is the last floor).
  
• Skull Cavern: we have to start from scratch. More variety, but a lot deadlier. It costs 500G to visit, and we can't get to the desert any sooner than 10:10 AM.
  
• We must have a Pickaxe and a Weapon with us to mine. Bringing along food is highly recommended.

Smelting

- costs time & items.

• We can smelt ores and certain minerals into usable bars by feeding the ingredients (plus one coal) into a furnace.
  
• Smelting takes time, but the furnace can be left unattended while in use.
  
• Each individual furnace can only craft one bar at a time, and must be reloaded manually each time for larger projects.
  
• The bars sell for more than the raw materials do.
  
• The bars can also be used for crafting.

Donations & Gifts

- costs time & items.

• We can give things to people! We generally won't get anything concrete from this, but if the recipient likes the gift, they'll think better of us. Birthdays make for especially memorable occasions.
  
• Gunther will only accept donations on behalf of the museum -
  minerals and artifacts
  that haven't already been donated. He'll occasionally give us items in exchange.
  
• Morris and the JojaMart cashier will not accept gifts.
  
• We can donate items to the Community Center. It will only accept specified items. We'll get rewards for completing categories of donations.

Pre-game

During the initial game set-up, we have to decide on the following:

The name of the farm. It has to end with "Farm" and has a character limit of approximately 8-12 characters (not counting the word "Farm").

The farm's starting layout. Choices are:

• Standard Farm - this farm has a lot of room, but not much else to distinguish it.
  
• Riverland Farm - this farm has lots of water. Great for fishing, but not a lot of space.
  
• Forest Farm - this farm has the bounty of the forest on hand, but a lot of the territory isn't great for farming.
  
• Hilltop Farm - this farm has a quarry for mining, with narrow tracts of land for farming.
  
• Wilderness Farm - Lots of space here, but at night we'll have to contend with monsters.
  
• Beach Farm - this farm is set up on the ocean. Salvage washes up regularly, and there's room for foraging and fishing - but most of the soil is sandy, which means sprinklers won't work.

Please let me know preferences for farm name and/or farm type. I'll open up suggestions for gameplay in a week!

I will automatically forage this area on my playthrough of Spring 1 unless told not to.

- It wouldn't take too much extra time to stop by Marnie's Ranch while we're here, assuming the posted hours are accurate.

We know that the road east of Cindersap Forest leads there, so on we go!

Pelican Town - Geography

The

river

you saw in Cindersap Forest flows through here. You follow it to the east and find a bridge crossing it leading

south

, to a

beach

.

The river forks a ways further down, splitting both north and east. A bridge at the fork allows you to continue on to the east, but fencing and hedges prevent you from going much farther.

Following the north fork, you find two more bridges allowing east-west crossing before you're forced to leave the river - cliffs to the east and north block further passage.

Heading back to the west, following the cliff's base, you find three paths where you can climb the cliff. The upper area has a passage to the

north

, which looks like it leads to the

Mountains

where you met Linus yesterday.

Finally, at the base of the cliff, a path leads

west

, heading back to the bus stop you arrived at yesterday - and Content Farm.

Most of the town is located in the lower elevation, west of the river, but there are a few buildings on the east side and one building on the cliffs.

Next up - points of interest.

Pelican Town - Points of Interest (Cliffs)

On the cliffs, there's a playground, a fountain and a few benches scattered throughout. There are a few

weeds

that could be cleared, and one fenced-off area that's overflowing with them. The area's blocked off by a boulder, but you figure you could crack it easily with a pickaxe. While it doesn't look like any trees here are suitable for chopping, there are signs of

forage

here.

The

building

is a large one - possibly the tallest one in the town. Planters sit under the windows; overgrown vines spill out. "Pelican Town" is emblazoned on the front. There's a clock just above the door - stopped. The door is locked.

Pelican Town - Points of Interest (West of the River)

This is the most populated area of the town, with multiple residences and businesses. Here's what there is:

  - next to the river. Home of Jodi, Kent, Sam, and Vincent.

There's less ground east of the river, but still a few points of interest.

The Beach - meeting Willy

Two piers jut out over a sandy beach. The

ocean

's waves are calming ... relaxing.

The east fork of the river in Pelican Town must fork south - it flows into the ocean from here, blocking off the eastern half of the beach. You wonder if it would be possible to

build a bridge

to access the eastern half ... perhaps

would be enough to construct one?

There's a small cabin on the beach, belonging to

Elliott

. The cabin is locked.

Some shellfish have washed up on the shore. Free stuff!

On the pier, you find a man with a gray beard smoking a pipe next to a rustic building. He introduces himself as

"Heard there was a newcomer in town... Good to finally meet ya.

"Ah... I'm still tryin' to unwind from a month out on the salty seas...

"It was a big haul! I sold a lot of good fish.

"Finally saved enough to buy me a new rod.

"Here, I want you to have my old fishing rod.

"It's important to me that the art o' fishing stays alive. And hey, maybe you'll buy somethin' from the shop once in a while."

Willy also mentions that his shop - the building on the pier - is now open for business. He also offers to buy any fish you catch.

This is a

and cannot be sold, dropped, or trashed. It can be stored in chests to free up inventory space if we're not going to be fishing that day.

Shellfish

will automatically be collected, as with forage, unless I'm told not to.

(Like forage, this will take up inventory space, so if space is tight we might want to skip it.)

Fishing

is now available as an action. It requires a

and also definitely water the mixed seeds if we plant them -- in fact, can we just assume that if we say "plant X" we mean "plant and water" as a shorthand?

Here's my recommendation: players can suggest that I water all crops. With this, I will water all growing crops on the farm, including crops planted today, without needing to specify which crops or amending the list if crops are planted.

Watering takes energy, so if a player requests that I only water a particular type (or quantity) of crop, it could be because they want to divert energy to other purposes besides watering.

Figure 10-20 minutes to watch the TV shows and go through the mail.

It took a little under two hours to deal with the crops yesterday, but that included time spent clearing out land. I cleared out a good-sized chunk for the crops; there should be enough leftover space to plant the mixed seeds. I estimate it'll take 40-60 minutes to till and plant the mixed seeds, then water all crops.

I'm guessing 4 trees +/- 1 to get another 50 wood. Each one takes 15 swings of the axe to take down; can get in a few swings for every ten minutes. Crafting the chest is fast; figuring out where to put it might take a little longer, but nothing major.

Exploring Pelican Town will take a while. I figure at least four hours for that, since I'll be poking my nose into every corner I can find - excluding buildings (other than Pierre's).
Pierre's should be quick. Giving him a dandelion adds at most 10 minutes, and maybe not even that.

The beach will take ... maybe an hour or so? Meeting Willy is a cutscene, so no time will pass during that.

Fishing - depends on how many tries it takes to catch a fish. We haven't done any fishing yet, so I'm reluctant to give an estimate there.

The only time constraints so far are:
- Pierre between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM.
- Willy before 5:00 PM.

I think we should spend a good portion of the day in the mines and try to reach level 20. We should forage on the way and bring any foraging item we can eat for energy.

We can't explore the mines yet; a rockslide has buried the entrance. Exploring the mountains will officially reveal this, along with the work crew that's trying to clear the rockslide.

If someone suggests something that can't be done - either due to lack of my knowledge or because it's not possible, then I'll respond in a spoiler as above. Players who don't want to be spoiled can skip reading it; players who want answers are free to read it for details - and if the issue is my knowledge, are free to lend a guiding hand by suggesting actions that will get me there.

As with the action of Linus in Spring 1, if someone suggests an action that can be done even though we don't officially know about it, I'll go ahead and put it on the list - although I may not necessarily tackle it in the most efficient manner.

On the note of edible forage, we do have some in storage. Daffodils restore 0 energy, but Horseradish, Dandelions, and Leeks all restore varying amounts of energy. I can get exact numbers if needed, but those should be in order from least effective to most effective.

So I think how I'm going to handle fast-track exploring for new areas going forward is:
- I'll load up the game and go straight to the region in question - so arrival time will be shortly after 6:00 AM.
- If it's a building, I'll arrive there when the building opens.
- I'll list all the points of interest, but will only list people if I'm positive they'll be there all day. (People running businesses, mostly.)

As you enter the Library & Museum, you're quickly greeted by a man dressed all in blue - blue fedora, blue button-down shirt, blue jeans. He introduces himself as

Sure enough, while the museum side of the operation has quite a few display shelves, all of them are stripped bare.

The library looks better, but most of the books here don't interest you. You find only a single book that looks relevant: "Tips on Farming." You scan through it and pick up a few tips.

Items with stars are Quality items - they will generally be more effective at healing (if edible) and will sell for more than regular items. Items will only stack if they're the same quality as the same item.

Lack of inventory space can cause issues while item collecting. Players can always give me general ideas on how to manage inventory (or save up enough to buy the backpack at Pierre's).

Yup, scythe is the tool for cutting weeds (and possibly finding mixed seeds).

Currently, our farm has been pretty well weeded (although it's possible for more to have popped up, I wouldn't expect much from a sweep of the farm). It has plenty of debris, but if we're specifically after mixed seeds, we'd do better elsewhere. Cindersap Forest had a decent amount of weeds as of yesterday, though (and is the region referred to by "southwest part of town" - the spring onions we got yesterday were from that area). As an added bonus, the weeds there were hindering exploration yesterday; removing them will speed things up a little.

There's also a cluster of weeds in Pelican Town, but clearing those out will require bringing other tools with us (pickaxe to clear the cluster by the locked building on the cliffs; axe to clear the cluster by JojaMart). Those are also the debris-clearing tools, so if we do bring those with us we'll have the option of clearing all debris while we work (consumes energy; produces wood and stone, with a small chance of coal for clearing rocks).

Let’s start with exploring the mine. Bring a pickaxe and let’s go mining.

Both of these are going to trigger cutscenes, so I'll give those to everyone now.

The Mines

As you enter the cave, the first thing you notice is an elderly man with white hair, white mustache, white goatee, and a black eyepatch. He's staring down at a ladder descending into the mines properly.

"Hmm... I was just peering down into this old mine shaft. It's been abandoned for decades. Still, there's probably good ore down there. But a dark place, undisturbed for so long ... I'm afraid ore isn't the only thing you'll find there.

"Here, take this. You might need it."

"Name's Marlon, by the way. I run the adventurer's guild right outside. I'll keep my eye on you. Prove yourself and I might think about making you a member."

There's an old mine shaft in the mountains north of town. There could be valuable minerals inside, but Marlon hinted that it might be dangerous.

You vaguely recall seeing other mine carts throughout Pelican Town - there's one by the

On the east side, there's a curious

that the pickaxe can't seem to crack.

On the north side, there's an

elevator

that descends into the mines. Currently, none of the buttons in it work.

The Adventurer's Guild lies just to the east of the mines. Posted hours are 2:00 PM - 10:00 PM, but you can't enter until you've proved yourself to Marlon, somehow.

Weapons work more like the Scythe than other tools - they do not consume energy when swung. Additionally,

Weapons cannot be sold via the shipping bin; currently, they must be either kept in inventory or stored when not in use.

As you enter the museum, you see Gunther staring forlornly at the empty shelves.

You hand it to Gunther.

"I've got a favor to ask you. Would you consider donating any new artifacts or minerals that you find? We could make a groundbreaking discovery together! Oh, and who knows... If you keep donating I might come across some

interesting items to send your way.

Think about it, will you? If you decide to donate, just bring the objects to the front desk."

More info on the Mines in general.

Proceeding from floor to floor requires finding stairways. Occasionally those are found in the open. Sometimes a stairway will spawn upon defeating a monster. More likely, we'll have to break a bunch of rocks to find one.

The basic layout of each floor remains unchanged from visit to visit, but new enemies will spawn, rocks will regenerate, and the location of the stairway(s) will be shuffled.

We can always leave the Mine at any time - there's always a ladder that will take us straight to the entrance.

When we go to the mines, it'll be helpful to let me know what to prioritize.
- Should I concentrate on finding stairways?
- Should I concentrate on finding loot?
- Should I avoid combat, or actively seek it out?
- Should I run back to the farm if I run out of space?
- What items should I keep and what items should I toss?

Everyone is absolutely welcome to discuss long-term plans. At least for now, I'm only going to keep track of stuff we're doing today - although if anyone wants a particular post pinned somewhere near the OP, let me know. As we get further into the game and I get more of the kinks ironed out, I'll probably allow players to add to my

Looking like I misinterpreted the suggestions. Here's the list:

We already have "Sell all Parsnips" on the list. That will bring in a minimum of 245G (we know the price of Parsnips from their sale on Spring 5). With 1948G on-hand and nothing on the list that will cost us anything, the Parsnips alone will push us over the edge.

So due to that, I will hold on selling the debris. If anyone wants to re-affirm that order, they can do so for Spring 7. (Besides, it might include Mixed Seeds, and so far we've always had orders to plant those the day after finding them.)

For future mine expeditions, players may now specify if I start from the beginning or from Floor 5. I'll assume "from the deepest available floor" unless told otherwise, either directly or indirectly. We'll unlock a new checkpoint every 5 floors.

We weren't able to make it to floor 15 due to running out of energy. We can stretch out our energy a bit more by bringing along healing items - if instructed to bring them, I will use them if needed. Most foods will work; some are more efficient than others. Note that they'll reduce our inventory space until they're used - the more different types we bring, the worse it gets.

Alternately, we can go back to getting into fights - enemies will sometimes spawn a stairway when killed. This will spend more time, but might save on energy. (Swinging the sword doesn't cost energy; swinging the pickaxe does.)

As we entered Pelican Town, we came across Lewis standing by the locked building on the cliffs.
"Oh, hi there."

He looked up at the building. "What an eyesore..." he muttered. "This is the Pelican Town Community Center... or what's left of it, anyway. It used to be the pride and joy of the town... always bustling with activity. Now... just look at it. It's shameful. These days, the young folk would rather sit in front of the TV than engage with the community."

He sighed. "But listen to me, I sound like an old fool. Joja Corporation has been hounding me to sell them the land so they can turn it into a warehouse... Pelican Town could use the money, but there's something stoppign me from selling it... I guess old timers like me get attached to relics of the past... Ah well."

Lewis shook his head. "

If anyone else buys a Joja Co. membership I'm just gonna go ahead and sell it.

"

"Here, let's go inside." He pulled out a key from his pocket and

unlocked the door.

Inside, the building looked even worse than it did on the outside. Holes in the flooring ... litter strewn about ... a bizarre hut in the corner, overgrown with leaves ... an abandoned fireplace with a plaque above it. The plaque showed

six stars

arranged in a hexagonal pattern; the stars themselves had been reduced to faded outlines.

Lewis surveyed the scene, looking at the

hut

, puzzled. "Hrm... what's this? I guess Vincent and Jas must've been playing in here." He quickly composed himself. "This place is even more dilapidated than I remember."

Just then, you noticed something odd in the corner - standing behind Lewis was a small, green ... object? being? something! waving at you. The look on your face must have been odd; Lewis turned around. As he did so, the ... creature? vanished.

"What's the matter? Are you ill?" Lewis looks concerned. You feel fine - except that you appear to be seeing things. Heading over to the corner, you see nothing unusual. "You saw something?" Lewis remarks. "Hmm... I wouldn't be surprised if this place was full of rats."

Rats, however, do not spontaneously materialize out of thin air behind people. This creature did - and does so again, appearing behind Lewis, gesturing wildly. But as Lewis turns around, it quickly vanishes again.

"You're worrying me, Farren ..." Lewis's concern quickly passes. "Look, I think I'm going to head home. I need some lunch. Hey, I'll keep this place unlocked from now on... maybe you can help catch that rat if you have some extra time." With that, Lewis left.

Pelican Town Community Center

With the building now unlocked - and with an hour to kill before Pierre opened up shop, you opted to explore the Community Center.

. The boiler itself is in poor shape; it doesn't look like you can fix it.

The left hallways leads to a trio of rooms - a

sitting next to a kitchen, and a recreation room given over to

. All three are in disarray, but one item immediately catches your eye - a

mysterious glowing plaque

sits in the middle of the craft room.

The plaque's writing looks alien - like nothing you've ever seen before. Some sort of hieroglyphs; you can't make heads or tails of it.

As the clock strikes 9, you opt to leave - there's still work to do!

We can currently smelt copper ore and quartz. Copper ore costs 5 ore / 1 coal; quartz costs 1 quartz / 1 coal.
We currently only have one furnace, and thus can only smelt one item at a time. If we craft more furnaces, we can smelt more items simultaneously.

When putting in an order, if it's for more than one item, please tell me if it's a rush job or not. Rush job = stick around the furnace to keep it going constantly (but we'll be stuck on the farm while we do this). If it's not a rush job, I'll leave the furnace unattended.

Goal here is to try and collect a variety of fish, so we won't be focusing on one location - we'll try to hit up all of the major fishing zones over the course of the day and spend at least some time fishing at each. We haven't done too much fishing yet, but it'll be a good opportunity to level it.
3) Give Haley a Daffodil. Part of the fishing run will be in Pelican Town, so we'll stop by her house - and if she's not there, we'll try to figure out where she is.

There's still room for more suggestions - fishing is the only energy-consuming thing on the list, and it tends to tilt a bit more towards time on the energy-to-time balance.

As a general rule of thumb: I probably *won't* look stuff up on the wiki specifically for this game, except for cases where I think I need to know in advance in order to present things properly, or if I think we're about to do something that could have permanent consequences. Gift giving usually doesn't fall into either category, even if the gift turns out to be lousy.

For requests like "Give Haley a Daffodil" - that'll just get done, unless someone objects to it (or I can't find Haley - probably not an issue with her, but some NPCs can be tough to nail down on a given day.) For vaguer requests, like "Give Haley something nice", then I'll try to find something I think she'll like, but I won't check the wiki to pick the optimal gift. If I *know* what she likes and get the vague request, I'll go with something I know she likes - which may not be the optimal pick, but at least should be better than nothing.

As another example, I'm not looking up on the wiki to see exactly what spring fish we need to catch for the Fish Tank bundles. I've got a rough idea of what's helpful and what's not, but I'm going to err on the side of caution and keep everything we catch barring instructions to the contrary.

Meeting the Wizard

Surprisingly, despite us arriving at 7:10 AM, the Wizard's tower was open. Inside, we saw:
- A cauldron, bubbling with green liquid.
- Some sort of lectern in the back.
- An eight-pointed star drawn on the floor.
- And, of course, the Wizard himself.

We didn't get much of a look, as the Wizard demanded our attention immediately.

"Ah... Come in. I am Rasmodius... seeker of the arcane truths. Mediary between physical and ethereal. Master of the seven elementals. Keeper of the sacred cha- ... you get the point. And you... Farren. The one whose arrival I have long foreseen.

Here, I'd like to show you something. Behold!"

With a gesture, he pointed towards the star on the floor - and one of the green creatures you saw yesterday at the Community Center appeared within it, trapped in a magic bubble!

"You've seen one before, haven't you? They call themselves 'Junimos.' Mysterious spirits, these ones... For some reason, they refuse to speak with me."

He gestures again, and the Junimo vanishes.

"I'm not sure why they've moved into the community center, but you have no reason to fear them."

You mentioned the mysterious, illegible plaque you saw; he looked interested.

"Hmmm? You found a golden scroll written in an unknown language? Most interesting... Stay here. I'm going to see for myself. I'll return shortly." With that, he disappeared into thin air. Trying to parse what you saw, you were startled by the tower door opening behind you. The Wizard walked back in.

"I found the note... The language is obscure, but I was able to decipher it. 'We, the Junimo, are happy to aid you. In return, we ask for gifts of the valley. If you are one with the forest then you will see the true nature of this scroll.' Hmmm. 'One with the forest.' What do they mean?"

The Wizard sniffed at his cauldron. "Ah-hah! Come here. My cauldron is bubbling with ingredients from the forest. Baby fern, moss grub, caramel-top toadstool... Can you smell it? Here. Drink up. Let the essence of the forest permeate your body." He handed you a mug filled to the brim with green liquid. Shuddering, you drank it up. Your vision blurred - images of trees danced through your head, then everything went black.

When you awoke, you were outside the tower - but realized that the mystery of the Junimo language was a mystery no longer.

. We entered the mines at 7:00 AM and left at 8:50 AM - Floor 16 was infested. As we didn't spend much time there, we didn't get much in the way of loot.

We got some time in fishing, but not as much as I'd hoped.

Task 3: Socializing / daffodil distribution.

- Haley was at the fountain at 12:40 PM and happily accepted another Daffodil (

- We caught Sam just outside his house at 4:40 PM. However, he

- No sign of Abigail during the day, and she was locked in her room at night, so no luck here.
- We checked on Sebastian twice today; he was locked in his room both times. No luck there either.
- We also met up with Harvey and Willy (at Harvey's Clinic); Maru was there but Harvey was blocking the way. We caught up with her later in the evening.
- We found an exercise meet-up in progress at Pierre's! Robin, Marnie, Jodi, Caroline, and Emily were all exercising in the back. We also talked with Pierre.
- We saw Evelyn outside tending to the flowers.
- Alex was outside by his dog's pen.
- We caught Shane leaving JojaMart.

I think it's a stray... poor little thing." Another meow. "I think it likes this place! Hey, um... Don't you think this farm could use a good cat?"

We've got nothing that consumes energy on the agenda yet, so I will propose a couple of fleshed-out days.

1) Mining. Start our day by heading straight to the mines. Start on floor 15; concentrate on loot. If we make any progress, great, but don't count on it.
2) Leave the mine at 1:30 PM or so - head to the Adventurer's guild (and grab the Leek nearby).
3) Beeline to Clint's - goal is to make it there before he closes at 4. Open the geodes. If we're really full, sell a few things to Clint to make room.
4) Head to Cindersap - grab the spring onions.
5) Grab the dandelion at the Bus Stop, then back to the farm. With time / energy left over, work on crop management, then clearing the farm.

Or ...

1) Start out heading to Cindersap. Grab the spring onions. Bring an axe and go to town on the trees.
2) Once out of energy, head into town. Stop by Clint's and open the geodes.
3) Socialize in town. Bring some daffodils and see who else likes them.
4) Head up to the Adventurer's Guild. Grab the Leek.
5) Stop by the Community Center and turn in the Spring Foraging bundle.
6) Head back to the farm via the Bus Stop; grab the dandelion there.

- We took a lot of damage on Floor 21 thanks to an insect infestation and were forced to retreat earlier than I would have liked.

Adventurer's Guild:
- We arrived at 2:00 PM on the dot.
- We sold the

for 50G, as it was obsolete with the new sword from the mine.
- In addition to the notes from earlier, Marlon will also buy Slimes (5G each) and Bug Meat (8G each). He'll also buy the Steel Smallsword for 50G. (I didn't sell any of these.)

Geodes:
- We made it to Clint's at 3:10 PM. (So about 1h10m to get there from the Guild.) We smashed 12 Geodes (paying 300G) and got: Dwarfish Helm, Limestone, Nekoite, Stone, Sandstone, Copper Ore, Mudstone, Petrified Slime, Copper, Alamite, Coal, Clay.

Socializing:
- We talked with: Maru (en route to Clint's), Clint, Abigail (gave her a quartz; she liked it!), Vincent, Jas, Penny (outside the museum by the river), Elliott (by the bridge to the beach), Emily, Gus (in the saloon), Evelyn, Lewis, Pam (outside in town), George (in his house), Sam, Caroline, Marnie (around town).

Past the 48 hour mark, so here are a couple of ideas for today. It's raining and the spirits are smiling, so it's a good day to do energy-intensive and/or luck-intensive activities.

1) Go turn in the Spring Foraging bundle to the community center.
2) Head to the mines and spend most of the day there. Concentrate on loot / ores specifically. Bring Spring Onions along to maximize the amount of time we can spend in there.
3) If we run out of onions and energy and there's still time in the day, go forth and socialize. (I think this is unlikely.)

Or ...

A) Drop the Carp off at the Wizard's for the Help Wanted quest.
B) Go donate a bunch of stuff to Gunther - anything he's willing to take, bring it to him.
C) Concentrate on fishing today, emphasizing one location in particular - either river or ocean. (Hoping for extra treasure chests!)
D) If it looks like we're going to run out of time with a bunch of leftover energy, clear debris and/or chop trees at the farm.

We'd need 1600G total to buy all that. We don't have any extra (>2) fish, but we do have some extra quartzes and an extra topaz. We haven't sold any of those before so I don't know how much Clint will pay, but I'd be surprised if we got less than what we need to fund everything.

Based on what everyone's suggested so far, here's a potential action list for the day.

1) Crop management. We just planted a bunch of seeds; we should water them. Harvest and sell potatoes; keep one on hand.
2) Inventory loadout: Axe (1), Fishing Pole (2), Sword (3), Gunther's items (4-16), Daffodils (17), Geodes (18). For Gunther's items, take all of the topazes and rubies; one copy of everything else.
3) Head to Cindersap Forest. Chop trees and branches while looking for the axe. Ignore forage (no room).
4) Around 2:00 or so, head to the Museum. Donate everything we have marked for Gunther.
5) Head to Clint. Crack all geodes. If we get anything new for Gunther, head back to the Museum and donate that too.
6) If we have energy left: fish until 6:00. If not: look through Pelican Town for forage until 6:00.
7) Head to the Saloon. Talk to everyone there; give away daffodils, topazes, and rubies.
8) If we have energy and time left, more fishing before heading back. If time but no energy, head back to Cindersap for missed forage (if any of note) or back via mountains (if none of note).
9) If we got any fish, keep highest quality unique fish; sell any duplicates and all but one Spring Onion. (We're low on cash.)

Crop management: success. We've got quite a few crops now; watering them took a pretty big chunk out of our energy.
Searching for the axe: success. We found the axe just east of where the Spring Onions grow. We also found something else of note during our trip to Cindersap, which will get follow-up in its own post. We spent the rest of our energy on chopping trees, but ran out before 2:00, so went to town early.
Donations to Gunther / Geode cracking: success. We got one new donatable during the cracking: Jagoite, which prompted a return trip to the museum.
Foraging: bleh. We got three spring onions, and that was it all day.
Socializing: This will get its own post. We had extra time, so I checked out a few additional areas.
Fishing: didn't happen (not enough energy).

The traveling merchant

On our trip through Cindersap Forest, we came across a new sight - a wagon, being pulled by a giant pig with spectacles! The wagon had one occupant - a merchant, who had a small selection of items for sale. They mentioned that they deal in a

wide variety of items

, but their supplies are both limited and unpredictable. They drop by Pelican Town on

Fridays and Sundays

. Unlike other merchants, they have no interest in buying items from us.

Most of what they had in stock was unaffordable, and the one item we could afford (a Carp) didn't seem like a good deal. But who knows; maybe they'll have good deals from time to time? Or items that might otherwise be hard - or impossible - to find?

Today is the Egg Festival!

The big choice to make today: attend the Egg Festival, or don't?
- If we attend, we must enter the Festival between 9:00 AM and 1:50 PM (being held in Pelican Town). Time will pause while we're there, but will fast-forward to late evening when we leave - it will probably be too late to accomplish anything after the festival. (We can still do stuff before, though.)
- If we do not attend, we will not be able to enter Pelican Town until after the festival ends. Expect everything to be closed in observance of the holiday.

Alas, we do not. The only farming-related items we can craft so far are scarecrows and basic fertilizer. (Fences and gates too, I suppose, but those are more for livestock.) I

With no one expressing an opinion one way or the other, I will make an executive decision here.

We are attending the Egg Festival.

The timer will be paused while here, so I'll make it a point to talk to everyone and engage in all available activities, including the Egg Hunt.

Pierre typically runs a kiosk at festivals with a supply of seasonal items. These items may be difficult or impossible to get anywhere else. Here's what Pierre has for the Egg Festival:

Welcome! Between you and Ariel, I think my first question is answered - we should buy some strawberry seeds.

That leaves question 2: what to do with our time before the festival? Ariel implied that we should harvest the spring forage that just finished growing (to make room for the strawberry seeds), so we'll definitely do that. What else?

Here are my suggestions:

1) Crop management. Harvest and water the crops as needed.
2) Keep the forageables - we've been giving away daffodils lately; dandelions and leeks make for good energy-restoring items.
3) Clear debris and/or chop trees on the farm until 1:00. Make sure to save some energy.
4) Head to the Egg Festival. Participate in all activities. Talk to everyone. Buy 10x Strawberry Seeds.
5) Once home, plant and water the strawberry seeds.

How they work: after we plant them, they'll take eight days to start producing strawberries (assuming we water them daily). After the initial harvest, they'll continue to produce strawberries every ... three days, at a guess? assuming we keep watering them.

Once Summer 1 arrives, the plants will all wither and die - so unless we're saving them for Year 2, the sooner we plant them the better.

We can afford a maximum of 13 strawberry seeds; to the best of my knowledge we have no way of getting any more money today. Anything we throw in the shipping box won't pay out until end-of-day, and all of the merchants are closed today.

It's Spring 13 now. We should get our first harvest on Spring 21. If I'm right about every three days, we'll get two more harvests - Spring 24 and Spring 27 - so long as we water every day for the rest of the season (other than Spring 28) without fail. If I'm wrong, we'll get one more harvest before the season ends.

I can't remember how much they sell for, but I'm pretty sure it's enough to be worth the trouble.

My interpretation of consensus here is that we have the consensus to replace the spring seeds with strawberry seeds, but not to exceed that level. So we'll buy ten seeds total.

So far, we've got:
Plant the Cauliflower seeds.

Neither of those will be overly time- or energy-consuming. What else can we load up the day with? Here are a couple of ideas.

1) Crop Management. (This will always be defined as: water all crops; harvest any crops that need it.)
2) Plant and water the cauliflower seeds.
3) Craft one more furnace. (We have 100+ copper ore and 200+ stone.)
4) Clear out debris. Concentrate on wood specifically.
5) While clearing out debris, work on smelting copper ore.
6) Once out of energy, work on socialization (including Haley's daffodil).

Or ...

1) Crop Management.
2) Plant and water the cauliflower seeds.
3) Go fishing. Object here is to try to catch as many fish as possible, so will be staying in one area. Ocean?
4) Make sure to go hunt Haley down for the daffodil.

Or anything else! I didn't suggest mining since today's a low-luck day, but it's still an option.

Question: Do you feel, as the one doing the actual playing, that it would require better equipment to go deeper in the mines? Or is our current equipment fine?

I basically want to get to deeper floors so we start having access to more iron ore. With iron ore we can eventually make sprinklers which will make crop management much easier.

On a low-luck day, with our current layout (basic pickaxe, steel smallsword, leather boots) I'd be somewhat skeptical of getting another checkpoint, unless we brought in some food with us.

On the combat side, the big potential obstacle is the surprise bug attacks. It takes a while for the sword to cut through them, and they tend to multiply faster than I can kill them. They don't always show up, of course - and fighting them more often is the key to getting better at them (or finding a better weapon, which is only going to happen in the Mines anyway).
