Spiffeh pocketed me so hard.
And he did while bad faith calling me scum.

Well done spiffey, Marci and all the other scum fucks (special shoutout to brian skies)

Also thought dann and STD did really well today even though we didn't win. You guys did great and shouldn't beat yourselves up, scum played really well here.

Was a fun enjoyable game with a bunch of shouting.

Next time we give Petapan more swings with his bat though

I enjoyed playing with you again!
In post 11478, Gypyx wrote: tbh i feel largly responsible for this loss by having no clue how to crumb lol
it definitely was a bad mistake, but every loss is the result of a compounding of mistakes made on multiple days, so i would not feel like it was all your fault. town had plenty of opportunities to kill scum prior to that and did not captialize. at least you can learn to breadcrumb better in the future?
If I might offer advice, I'd say the most important thing is conveying targeting intent. You got hung up on using particular words instead, words that are very common. The last one in particular got turned around because it was in a townread, which is not who you're expected to investigate. I didn't even clock that the word 'weak' was in it until Dannflor mentioned it, I was just looking at your reads because there didn't seem to be actual crumbs. It would've been really good to have that information but I don't think the garbled crumbs ultimately ended up changing anyone's mind for the worse compared to just not having crumbs- I was the only one who took them seriously and I didn't matter.

Meh, not right about enough. I had two very wrong reads this game and that was enough to fuck everything up. If I hadn't antagonized Dragons maybe I actually keep getting cop shots and could've done more. And obviously Oblivion got to me early and I barely ever did any re-evaluation. Maybe if I'd been there in ELO seeing Dragons spell out the "unable to be bookied = bookie?" idea the pocket would've broken but who's to say.

gg, Mafia definitely deserves their win

GG WP Mafia. Marci was a force of nature in this game.

We should have stayed leery of you, Spiffeh. Good job getting us off your back!

Sorry we went hard after some town players while we were in the game.

I'm kinda glad we died before my trip. This game would have been hell to keep up with given limited time and I would have been trying to play on tablet/phone because like an idiot I left my laptop power cord sitting on my desk. I have no idea how people play mafia effectively via mobile.

Also, one of these days I'll find time to read wolfbae's morph scumcasing in the dethy hood. My play definitely wasn't up to snuff this time out.

This was a good playerlist! It was nice meeting some new people, or at least people whose mains I couldn't guess. Hi firebagel! I'm glad I read you correctly!

I probably won't be able to play again for several months due to real life stuff. I hope to play with all of you again when things calm down!

Oh they bookied Cakez the night I investigated him, I guess maybe that helped avoid a double kill. I wonder how the game would've gone if that had gone through.
Didn't record Night 7 but everything of interest is pretty much in the scum PT

Why do you ask me and not the confirmed town players, just because of my mechanical expertise?

Right now I don't think there is a mechanical reason to use your ability on anybody, so we would just be looking for whoever made the kill last night.
Unless we want to confirm Morph targeted Shello, or that one of the dethy members handed out a cop
, but I'm not sure if we need to do either. I trust Morph and I think the mafia in the hood can hand a cop out as well.

Y'all read so much more into that at times than I ever did. I was just doing "mind games are prevalent, some minor theming (night market hood) and it's hard to know what is real". It might be relevant that the name of the game arrived partway through design, rather than being the driving force all the way through

The original concept was to design a game around the mafia bookie and things got out of hand from there

But here are some elements that were thematic from my POV:

-lots of items and manipulative abilities making it difficult to tell what really landed where, whether investigative results could be trusted, etc. while I agree that the balance was off in favor of town, one significant non obvious source of scum power comes from the formatting of investigation results (just innocent, not x is innocent). With a scum Busdriver alive this would mean everything is unreliable and it would have been very easy to falsely clear scum
-the street magician role having to play mind games to get their powers
-firebringer's role has a guessing-game component
-scum were informed of morph's role, giving them the opportunity to try to play around it by stacking their kills on one member
-masons have to communicate in a neighborhood
-bookie, obviously
Personally I felt the game was very aptly name just from knowing about a thief, a bus driver, and items. The other things (night market, Firebringer role, bookie etc.) make it even more aptly named.

I guess I want to apologize for not tryharding as much as I probably could / not efforitng enough to explain my worldview (Which was right, and was basically "we should eliminate Cakez now if he's town because otherwise we'll miselim him later when it hurts more, and he's probably scum anyway, and we should also eliminate Marci who's scummy as heck"). So sorry about that.
