[SETUP] Fog of War
Each Mafia Traitor Seeker may contact one player per night, if they target a player with the same alignment as them, they will join a PT together. Contacting a mafia side player already in a PT will add them to the PT or merge PTs if both sides are in a PT.
When all living Mafia-side Players are in the same PT or if there is only one living mafia sided player, they will receive access to a nightkill each night.
The Mafia win when they reach parity.
The Town wins when they eliminate all mafia-sided players.Show"I hope one day I can openly play as wolfy as Pooky and get zero pressure for it grumble grumble."

curious what the expected value of how long it takes for all the mafia to find each other is
main concern is for the start of the game it'll be really hard on town I thinkFirst read of the game just came in Gamma is town. And now if she’s Scum I look like a clown.

Yeah, it seems like a fun setup but it's questionable if the start of the game counts as Mafia given that there's no informed minorityPlural- TemporalLich

I like this setup's concept and feel that this setup is still Mafia in spirit
probably wouldn't want to play as it is mountainous thoughtime will end- sloththeholy

I feel like this should be like a 15P with 4 Mafia maybe? As they don’t have access to a NK until they’re all together?- Something_Smart

One scum member quickhammering and claiming scum D1 is probably optimal, so they get the NK and full coordination ASAP in return for losing their scummiest member. The odd part is that this strategy has counterplay, in that town can also do it. Technically any number of people can claim scum in twilight, but only one can actually do a scummy quickhammer, so if everyone is aware of the meta then it will create a very odd situation.
I feel like it would probably just be better to prevent this entirely. Since I also agree that mountainous seems pretty unfun for town, maybe you could add a town rolestopper or something. It's always the same. When you fire that first shot, no matter how right you feel, you have no idea who's going to die. You don't know whose children are going to scream and burn. How many hearts will be broken. How many lives shattered. How much blood will spill, until everybody does what they're always going to have to do from the very beginning... SIT DOWN AND TALK!- sloththeholy

What did you misunderstand? You're correct that they don't get a NK until they're all together. It's always the same. What would a scummy quickhammer even look like? It's mountainous, not like the person at E-1 is gonna claim something usefulIn post 6, Something_Smart wrote: One scum member quickhammering and claiming scum D1 is probably optimal, so they get the NK and full coordination ASAP in return for losing their scummiest member. town can just as easily quickhammer and claim wolf so it should be an exciting hammer heavy game.
what do you think about the numbers? i can see making it 15p but worried wolves might be too op with the smaller game.Show"I hope one day I can openly play as wolfy as Pooky and get zero pressure for it grumble grumble."

I'm not sure that a game where town are incentivized to play as scummy as possible is really my idea of an exciting fun time. Gaining a NK is such a powerful EV buff that it might actually be optimal to just play it like AitP and not talk at all.
Maybe you could have a permanent NK and give the scum a priority order, so the highest priority living scum makes the kill on each night? They still gain a mechanical advantage from finding each other, since they won't accidentally kill a teammate, but it's much less game-warping.
I don't really care about the numbers of the setup as it currently stands, but if you're adamant about not changing the mechanics I can probably throw together a quick Monte Carlo simulation assuming random decisions, because I think for all intents and purposes the decisions will be effectively random in this version. It's always the same. An intermediate option would be if the NK becomes available once the highest ranking living mafia is in a PT. So you don't need all four to find each other.
Also, it seems like it could be fun/chaotic to turn one or more of the VTs into town neighbourisers maybe?RAGGLEFRAGGLE TIME TO STRAGGLE
